Scott Joseph Young

Scott Joseph Young born October 21, 1956, to Joseph Llewellyn and Ethel Dawn Young, passed away peacefully after a hard-fought battle with COVID-19 on September 27th, 2021, surrounded by family.

He is survived by his loving sweetheart and wife, Rozanne Wilde, and his 8 children and their spouses: Jamie Lee Alton (James), Kara Rozanne Allen (Cale), Brett Scott Young (Brittany), Craig Joseph Young (Colleen), Krista Dawn Young, Jessica Rose Collins (Scott), Arianna Marie Young, Lydia Ann Young, and his siblings Carol Quayle, Patricia Funk, Robert Young, Dave Young, Richard Douglas Young, and his 14 grandchildren Summer, Chloe, Benjamin, Sophie, Emma, Braxton, Taiya, Carli, Rylie, Emmy, Jaxon, Ashlyn, Mason, and Reese. He is reunited with his mother and father and his granddaughter Kinzie Danielle Allen.

Scott was a devoted husband who adored his wife. He was loved by everyone who knew him. He had a talent for making others feel welcome and important. He will be remembered for his jovial spirit and infectious smile. He adored his grandchildren, and they adore him. One of his favorite traditions was eating milk and cookies with them. His family was his top priority, and they will always remember his love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, and unwavering faith in God. He treasured his membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served freely and passionately in many capacities, including 2 years in the Canada Toronto Mission teaching, and bringing others to Christ. He and his wife were currently serving the 3yr old's as Sunbeam teachers. He loved the little ones and found great joy in helping them learn about their Savior, Jesus Christ.

He received his BS in Accounting and Tax Law from the University of Utah in 1982 and his MBA at the University of Phoenix in 2004, while all 8 children were still at home. He spent his career years serving and consulting companies in various positions of leadership, but was currently employed in his most favorite position ever with BYU Idaho as an online adjunct instructor in the Accounting Dept. He loved mentoring his students in business, and they loved him.

He loved nature, being outdoors, fishing, camping, and traveling with his wife. He was an exceptional man and is leaving a legacy of love as he embarks on his next adventure. Until we meet again Cookie Monster.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 1, 2021, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, 165 S. 1000 E., Bountiful, UT 84010. A viewing will be held at the church from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment – Memorial Lakeview Cemetery, 1640 E. Lakeview Dr, Bountiful UT 84010.
