Joy Garrett (Chessher)

My DEAR FRIENDS at BHS...I am asking you all to pray for Colleen Broussard DeAses, and her husband Chuck. Colleen is in the hospital at Seton, but Chuck is planning to bring her home on Monday. The time is near when our LORD will call our sweet Colleen HOME with HIM. There are not words to express how wonderful Colleen is. She is the sweetest woman I have ever known. She radiates GOD'S LOVE,and she is a great encouragement to me to finish this life strong. Chuck calls her his angel, and he just adores her. May you all reach out to him, and pray GOD strengthen and comfort him.

GOD bless you.
Love,
JOY

Just received this from Donna Billie Jones and want to update everyone who so thoughtfully sent Christmas cards to Collene and Chuck DeAses. Thank you, Margaret Dubois Ammons for the sweetest idea.

"Just got back from the hospital, where I stopped by for a quick visit with Collene Broussard DeAses and her husband Chuck. Sadly, she's near the end of her battle. Michael & Kathy Poehl, Dee Ann, and Joy were there, too. Spoke on the phone with Collene's sister Dana (younger than us, and I hadn't met her). She commented on all the Christmas cards Collene and Chuck had received (after the blast-out on the BHS site). Sounded like it really made their holidays happier, so everyone should feel good about that little gesture."

I just wish I could do something more for them. I think about them all the time. Precious Joy is filling in the gap for all of us down here. God will surely bless her for her loving heart.

Margaret, the best thing we can do for Collene and Chuck is pray for them. May God wrap his arms around them and cradle them with his love. She is a wonderful lady and she looked so pretty at the reunion. I pray Gods strength for Chuck.

My dear friends at BHS....Collene is sleeping peacefully like the angel she is. She is feeling so loved and cared for. She smiled twice this morning after our all night slumber party. She looks beautiful in her new gown and robe. GOD has surrounded her with LOVE, and is comforting and strengthening Chuck. He told her that the next time they see each other will be forever. He will need our love and encouragement in the days ahead.

Your prayers are working...because the LORD is right there with her...HE is giving her time to enjoy all the love and caring from friends and family. The greatest LOVE she will have is HIM!

I love you all, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers and LOVE!!!

JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :0)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beth Sorters (Everett)

Just to update you on my husband Butch. He was in the hospital from News Years eve till yesterday. He is home now on Hospise. He has had a rough time of it as I'm sure Colleen's husband can attest to. He is being kept comfortable and has been in good spirits just to be home. Thank you for all your prayers and continue to remember us . We will remember Colleen in our prayers also and the Mallory family.

Joy Garrett (Chessher)

Dear Beth,
I am so sorry for you and Butch. I do understand what you both are going through. I lost my husband 10 years ago to brain cancer. I will pray for you and Butch. At the last part of Randy's life I just concentrated on things to make him comfortable, and to feel so loved. I had "open house," and all of Randy's friends and loved ones came to love on him and say goodbye. He left with all the love in this world Beth, and in Heaven Randy is now with the GREATEST LOVE OF ALL...our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS!
You call on the class of 1969 Beth...we are a praying and loving group!

GOD bless you and Butch, and may THE LORD surround you with all the love of this world. May you both feel so cared for, and know that OUR LORD is right there taking care of you.
Love,
Joy Chessher

What a great night it was in the Lord's House! I went with a couple of our classmates to hear Carman. He was awesome! I found myself in prayer for our classmates. I was with girls I hardly knew at BHS but I totally love them now. Thank you Dear God. I am sorry to hear about all the trials our friends are going through but please know that God is in control and we love and pray for you each day. I feel blessed to have graduated in '69 with such wonderful and loving people. Please keep Carrol in your prayers for tomorrow she will have surgery. She is in high spirits and ready to have the pain gone for good. Beth we will keep you and your family in our prayers. Colleen, I will cherish the memories of going to your house after school when we were in jr. high. Thank you for the priviledge of calling you my friend. God's Blessings and Much Love, Marian

I am so thankful for the voices of the faithful from our class. The loving concern expressed here for one another is one of the greatest blessings I have experienced as a Christian. I add this prayer with all of yours...

Oh Holy Father, we join our petitions together in the mighty Name of Jesus. We thank You for Your love and holy presence in our lives. Lord, we especially pray for Collene and Butch...we lift their needs up to You and ask for Your tangible presence to be felt by them and their loved ones that stand by their sides. Please Lord, release healing, comfort and courage to them. Lord, thank you that You fulfill your promise to "never leave us or forsake us" and that You truly go with us all the way to the end. Let our friends know the fullness of our love for them. Father, may your mighty angels stand in attendance to their every need in this hour.

Oh Lord, we praise You for the heavenly preparations you have made for Your children and we rejoice even in our sorrow... for we know that You are standing by to wipe away every tear as we enter into the Kingdom You have prepared. Thank you Lord for Collene and Butch and the great richness they have shared here on this Earthly plain. Now, let them taste and enjoy the fruits of their labors forever.

In Jesus Holy Name...Amen

Thank God for Friends

Thank God for divine friends who really care, and show you that they do.

By acts of kindness, letters, calls, You know their love is true.

These kinds of friends will stand by you when trouble comes your way.

Tho storm clouds gather, friends of worth will never turn away.

Thank God for kind divine words they speak-choice words that heal and

bless, and for the way they comfort you in loving tenderness.

Thank God for friends who really care and take the time to pray

To ask that God will meet your needs and grant you divine strength each day.

It truly is a divine miracle what caring friends can do, God's hand extended,

reaching out to help both me and you. I know you're thankful for your friends

Just as I am for mine. These precious friends whose loving touch

Reflects God's love divine.

I was at the Carriage Inn visiting my mom when I heard someone say my name. When I turned around this lady said "aren't you Marian Sahr?". I said yes Madame I am. She then said " I was your teacher.". All I could think of was oh my goodness, who could she be. Then she identified herself as my 6th grade teacher. I blurted out "Miss Smith!". I remember her well. I could not believe she recognized me! She asked me to tell all her former students hello. So here is your shout-out.

Prayer Warriors, I just received this from Margaret Dubois Ammons.
January 21, 2010 from Margaret Dubois Ammons:

"Please keep us in your prayers. Today, HL was told that he has a brain tumor. We do not know anything more at this time. We will be scheduling an appointment with this neurosurgeon for sometime next week. As I understand it, he will perform a biopsy before we can know anything more."
