I regret that I won't get to come down to Texas for this extraordinary event...I still love the rock and roll...I will be playing with the Church Band tomorrow at the annual Peace Festival in Centennial Park in Nashville.  It will be a fun show to play again, but I will be a slight shade of green (with envy) as I think of ya'll at Marian's place dancing the night away.  Hug everybody for me....Have a blast!

Gary, you will be missed.  We will definitely have another one!  I love our classmates very much and feel blessed to be part of the best class there is.  God Bless You Gary.  Hugs back to ya.

Let me be the first to post that we had a terrific time at Marian and Bill's beautiful place on the creek.  Thanks to Marian, Paula, Melinda and (I know I'm leaving out lots of really important people) who did the planning and provided the food and entertainment.  I had a blast and I am soooo looking forward to our next gathering.  I'll try to be around to help with that one!  Love you guys!!!

Any pictures or statements made about me concerning the Rock and Roll Reunion are untrue!  It was an imposter (Betty Beck) posing as me.  I will apologize, however, for any damage to eardrums from off key and out of sync singing that may have occurred during the event!  Thank you for listening, or, at least pretending to!  Really, tho, it was so good to so you all again and hope to see you again soon!  Thank you Paula for the great tent and decorations and leadership, thanks to Susie & Glenn for the air conditioning!!!, Marian and Bill for the gracious use of their house and land, and to Jerri Lee, Melinda, Lyndell, Carrol, Patty, Betty, Margaret, and Steve for helping plan this event.

I hate it that I couldn't be there...can't wait to see some pictures.

It was so very, very FUN!  THE TENT was GREAT!  Paula Tate Garrett is an AMAZING party planner and she works non-stop!  She had helpers but it was all Paula.   Bill Bullard is a PRIZE and Marian is a lucky woman.  KUDOS to Susie and Glenn Patton for the A/C - we would have needed EMTs more than once in that heat without the A/C!   Only suggestion I offer would be LARGE PRINT name tags.  The karaoke was hilarious and entertaining - some could sing and some rivaled the Gong Show. The 'Carrie Underwood Team', Mike VanNorman, Karen King and the duo of Melinda Rosenkranz and Todd Jones may be on tour at your local venue.  While we were decorating Friday I distinctly remember Judge Jerri Mills saying, "I'm not singing!" yet there she was Saturday night hiding behind Marian on stage and I've got the picture to prove it.   The Minute-to-Win It games were wonderfully executed by Betty Beck though some thought Patty and Donna were robbed but reluctant to dampen Karen's enthusiam.   There was enough food to feed several hundred starving people.  Betty Beck tried to keep the class photo going with different poses as if she were channeling Alice Day Smith but it was just too hot!  Joy Garrett Chesser said On-Star took her down every county road in Texas but she finally found her way to Marian's in time for the class photo.

If you weren't there, we missed you and you missed some folks who didn't make the one last September.  It was great to see the 'new' faces, thanks to all for coming to the party.  Without you, it just wouldn't have been a party.   E-mail me your photos and I'll make a slideshow for the homepage.

I just got back to Kerrville. The party was a lot of fun and it was nice to see everyone again. At 59, we are not rock singers, but many sure tried. However Mike did an excellent singing performance on "King of the Road".

Marian and Bill, thank you for hosting the party. Your place is beautiful.

Marian, thank you again for the compliment. You are my new best friend! I will make sure we have another dance at the next party.

Keith

To those of you who were unable to make the "Rock & Roll Reunion", you missed a really, really good time!  Just listening to the wonderful music (and yes I did get up to sing with the girls -- totally against my "shy" personality") brought back so many good memories of our junior high and high school years -- when you could listen to a song - understand the words and sing a long with the music.   I had a great time and was able to visit with some people that I missed out on visiting with at our 40th reunion!  The hard work was all worth it -- I would not hesitate to pitch in and help again!  Again, if you missed it -- you absolutely missed out on lots of fun, good food and excellent fellowship!

This is an actual recording of the 1969 Brazosport High School Band playing the fight song in the auditorium with the student singing along. Originally recorded on reel tape.  I found it on facebook via Judy Teague Crenshaw but it can also be found on YouTube . . . gee, can't everything?

I had a Blast !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had so much fun, and I am so thankful, that there wasn't a video camera with recording.   I don't know what it was... but....some of those songs were just in the wrong key for my voice...LOL  It was fun to lay down all my inibitions and just have fun....

I thank everyone involved in making this happen, it was so much fun from beginning to the end, the planning, the decorating, eating good Tx BBQ , and being one of the spectators of the games.  Betty, you had some great games, loved it when Karen King fell out on the ground wrapped in toilet paper.....Loved it.

Thank you Marian and Bill for opening your home to us, and thank you Paula for the awesome decorations, tent, and Jerri Sue and Glenn for the AC.  and everyone else not mentioned but you know who you are...

Can't wait for the next one.

I thank each and every one of you from my heart for such wonderful friendship.

Love you all.

All,

We had such a good time.  Everything was absolutely perfect.  I thought the decorations in the tent were just great and the balloons with the little twinkle lights (that swayed in the breeze of the AC...woohoo Glenn) was too cool.  Marian, I  got to chat with Bill briefly as he was hanging the pretty chinese latterns on the trees.  He's sort of like the Eveready Bunnny, constantly on the move the entire time we were there!  He is really a very nice guy...hang on to him.  Thank you both for all your hard work and for inviting us into your home.  You have a beautiful place.  I hope we didn't mess up too much.  I also got to visit with your daughter...pretty young lady.

Melinda, Paula, Susie, Jerri, Carrol (if I miss someone please forgive me) thank you all SO much...everything was gorgeous!  You all did an outstanding job.  The decorations, inside and out, music, food (what a spread) was so good.

Betty, you did a superb job as the games and entertainment director.  You kept everything moving and hopping.  Can't wait to see the group pictures, front and back.

Melinda, I took some pictures and a short "VIDEO" of a certain group singing!!! Can you say "blackmail material" sister?

Janice, please send us that wonderful dip recipe.  It was fantastic.  It was so pretty, almost too pretty to eat....almost.

Magaret, it was so good to see you...always in my prayers girly girl.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much for a perfect evening.

What a great group of people.  Hopefully, we will get to meet again and see others that couldn't make it this time.

God bless,

Di

I am so sad I missed this party. From all the posts, it sounds like all of you 'didn't act your age' at all! LOL

I hope someone else has another party before the cruise this Christmas. I can hardly wait to see the pictures and videos.

Marian Sahr (Bullard)

It's so hard to post the words on our class party.  It was a evening that will stay in my heart for the rest of my days.  Bill and I felt so honored to have each of you at our home.  Bill really enjoyed our classmates for he had only 7 people in his graduating class.  He enjoyed his visit with Steve, Arthur, John, Karen's boyfriend, Donna's husband and many more.  He worked so hard for the last three weeks to make sure everything was just "right".    Keith, I appreciate our new friendship.  Thank you for the dance and I will be looking forward to our next one.  Paula and Melinda...I will never forget our two days of decorating together.  I love ya very much.  Dianne, thank you for the gift.  The only problem, your picture was not in the frame.  I know our families were friends since we were little girls and I reflect back on those memories often.   Betty,  what can I say but I love you like a sister.  I remember when Dr. Beutel and the other two came to our house to tell us Daddy had been killed at Dow and I knew right where to run to.  You, Wanda, JH, and the guys are family to me and my family.  I love ya.  Jerri,  I do wish I knew you in high school.  You are so much fun!  Lynn, Gerry Sue, Carrol, Jerri and Lynn...thank you so much for all you did.  Gerry Sue, you are an amazing woman.  Steve, oh my goodness,  I could not believe Bill had you mowing.  That guy thinks he is 20.  He is the only man I know that hand mows 4 acres.  You were smart when you went and got your riding mower.  Cindy and Arthur,  thank you for coming Sunday to help clean-up (as well as Melinda).  Bill and I enjoyed our visit and are looking forward to seeing you guys soon.  I appreciate all the new friendships that I have been blessed with.  Linda I love you and sorry we didn't become sisters (you know what I mean).  I could go on and on and I'm sure I left out alot of people but I am still recuperating.  All I can say is that I love everyone of you and the one's that did not make it.  I pray for safety during this stormy weather and Happy Fourth.  God Bless,  Marian

Oh, thank you all for the birthday wishes!   This means so much to me.  I feel so blessed to have you all in my life.  God has placed you here, now, when I need you the most.  I so love the prayers that ya'll have offered up for me, they mean the world to me.

I had my first chemo treatment today and it was a positive experience.  With God and your help, I will beat this and have those many, many more birthdays.  I feel well and fully expected to continue to do so.

Again, thank you so much and I love you all!

Margaret

The R'n'R Reunion was fabulous! Thanks to all of you who worked so hard to make it happen. Luckily for the other guests, I didn't get in on the karaoke. Do they have karaoke on the cruise? I've been thinking about my selections, and I'm sure everyone will enjoy them. :-)

Love you, Susie, and relieved to see that you are up and around and not hanging upside down. (I think maybe there's a poem in there.) Happy birthday, Margaret and other July babies. I'm looking forward to our New Year's trip!

I got an email from Glynn Irby today, and his brother Keith Irby passed away last night at Brazosport Reg. Hosp.  Glynn stated that it was most likely due to Sepsis.  I think Keith graduated in 1967 Brazosport Class, I am pretty sure he was 2 years ahead of us.

I don't have any other information,  Please pray for Glynn.

Blessings to everyone,

Melinda
