In the last 30 days 66 of us have logged on to this website with only 5 of us actually posting messages.  I think maybe interest is waning or we just need new blood and stimulation.  Personally, I'm getting tired of The Carrol Show so . . . any one want to volunteer to manage the website? I am happy to relinquish it – don’t even have to run it by Alice Lee.   Or shall we let it die a natural death?  Contact Alice on her profile and ask her to add you as an administrator. I feel like I’m beating a dead horse here and I’m done.

I know Margaret posted a request a few months ago about a Christmas get together and I do not see anyone answering.  People.....we need to keep this bond going.  It doesn't have to be in this area.  I (and I am sure others) will drive where you want us to.  I love our time together and cherish every moment.  Please.....I miss y'all!!!!

Marian Sahr (Bullard)

What a great time I had last nite with Margaret, HL, Bill, Winona, Janice and Lynn.  I was the only one there from Lake Jackson but those Freeport classmates really know how to make you feel at home.  I love my new friends and look forward to each get-together.

We were talking last nite about a Christmas gathering and my mind has been going haywire.....a trip to Kemah (too cold?), dinner theater, trip to San Antonio, getting together and renting a place at Lake Travis or better yet...ice skating (that should really be crazy).  It's really hard for just a few to plan things so get on here and let's hear your ideas.

Happy Thanksgiving and I Pray for a Safe and Joyful Holiday Season!!

God Bless You!!

Thanksgiving blessings to all.

39 years ago tomorrow (November 23, 1971) Larry and I were married at First Baptist Church in Freeport. People say it's a miracle that we're still together.

We are a blessed family. Daughter Monica and her husband began fostering two precious little boys in June. Our grand daughter, Karley is now 5 and the boys are 3 and 16 months. Adoption proceedings should begin soon. What a great family!!!

We will spend Thanksgiving Day at our home in Willis. I'll cook dinner and that evening we'll probably start getting ready for Christmas.

What do some of you do for holiday celebrations?

Happy Thanksgiving to all and safe travel for those on the road.  We will be having

Thanksgiving at my son Will's house with my wonderful daughter in law cooking her first turkey.

I'm  sure it will be wonderful just like everything else she cooks.  I'm so thankful for my family, my woncerful clasmates and church family.  This has been a trying year for us but we have gotten through it thanks to God and all of you.  Blessing on each of your household for the rest of this year and into the new year.

Love from the hottom of my heart

Margaret

I would really hate to see this forum go away, but I'm guilty of not making use of it. With email and Facebook I forget to, also, check or post here. I love you all, and I understand your readiness, Carrol to relinquish the overseeing of the site. I'd LOVE to participate in a Christmas party, but will not be in TX this holiday season...drats! Marian was looking for venues...how 'bout here in sunny southern CA?!! Big Texas-sized hugs & a very MERRY CHRISTMAS to all! XO

About our Thanksgiving holidays...because we rotate with our kids in-laws, we had our Thanksgiving meal today, Saturday.

So much food. Goodness it was great. We had a friend over who is a soldier at Ft. Hood, and she left to go back. So we packed meals on plastic plates for her to take to other soldiers. Many of them didn't have a Thanksgiving dinner. That was fun to do. After our meal, we visit a few minutes by sharing what we appreciate and love about one another.

Then we played games. About 3 inside games, and then to the outside relay games. (Remember I come from an athletic family) LOL   A new game this year was to have two teams. With a SMALL frozen turkey between our legs, we walk to one of your team members about 8 feet from us. If we drop the turkey, back to the line we go. (it's hilarious the different ways family members tried to carry the turkey). Whichever team finishes first receives prizes.

Back inside we cleaned up, watched a little football, and visited. It was a great day of food, fellowship and fun. AND I AM SOOOOOOOOOO FULL.

Many blessings to all of you.

I am so excited to see what God is doing in the marketplace. Here is another one of those God moments, similar to what Carrol posted. You will be so thrilled.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at our daughter and her family's home in Richwood.  Ron cooked the turkey, I made the dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, and Kristin and her mother-in-law furnished the rest.  It was a great day.  Then on Friday, our son Kevin and his new bride Taylor (they married on Nov. 13th and just got back from their honeymoon in Bora Bora) came to our house.  We ate more turkey, dressing, etc. (full again!)  This afternoon we went to Dunbar Park and played frisbee golf.  I stink at the game, but it was a lot of fun anyway.  Then we went to the property that our church is clearing, and rode tractors!  Great day!  AND I want to thank all who have prayed for my sister Nita who will undergo surgery this Monday morning for a brain tumor.  Please continue to pray for her, her husband Flo, and her daughters Elaine and Renee'.  We are truly blessed and we have so much to be thankful for.  God is good.

We spent a wonderful Thanksgiving evening at our son Will and Tanya's house.  She cooked the turkey, pumpkin and pecan pie and a veggie.  I made the dressing, showed her how to make the gravy and brought a cheesecake.  My oldest son, Ed joined us as well as my sister, Annette and her family.  We had dinner late because Will had to work (law enforcement has to work holidays).  Dinner was great and then we settled in to watch A&M beat TU.  The grands were so much fun, too.

I'm so thankful for my family-God has truly blessed me.

Carol,

You have done a wonderful job with the forum.  The excitement does wane abit after the reunion.  People just get so busy with other things and forget about the forum. So many on facebook. BUT..the forum is special. It is just for BHS.  It is a place we can cry, rejoice, share and comfort our BHS family.  We are slower on the 68 site as well. Sometimes we have to be told that we are wanted there too.  I don't get on either site much now, because I'm not supposed to at work and it is easier to do FB with my iphone.

I just want you to know (for what it is worth) that you have done an exceptional job with this site.  Sometimes we don't reflect the gratitude for other classmates time, skill and care they put into something (forum) for us to enjoy.

I don't post on this site, because it's not my class, even though I know as many of you as I knew in my class of 68.  I just don't think it is for me.

Anyway, no more babbling.  I hope all had a Thanksgiving full of love, family and friends. For those that have lost loved ones or those that are facing difficult times be it illness, financial, whatever, I pray that God will lift you up and let you know how much HE cares for you.

May your Christmas be Merry and may the new year bring all of God's glory to you and yours.

Beth I want to extend my love and prayers to you and your family.  Losing a parent is difficult and sometimes it's hard to comprehend God's timing, but keep the faith and know that we all love you.  Marian
