Carol's remembrance of Mrs. Ross (Chemistry)!  I remember my first day in her class.  She told the whole class that the learning would be rigorous and that we could drop out if we wished.  I took her advice, but she rejected my quitting the class anyway.  She told me she knew my parents and said I should stick it out.  Turns out she was a very interesting teacher and I made A's in her class both semesters.

While I am in this mood, I'll remember out loud the Geometry and algebra teacher, Mr Arnold.  There was something special about his way as a teacher. I've wished sometimes that I could have known more about him as well as taken trig under his direction.

Can’t BAC stargaze somewhere. My old knee injury has bit me in my.... again after 47 yrs. I’m looking into stemcell procedures for all injuries.

Hi there, stem cells were first used to fight leukemia, but nowadays for a number of disease processes. I was transplanted about 8 months ago for cancer- lymphoma. It is an amazing therapy.  I was screened prior for pulmonary and cardiac function. But stem cells were injected intravenously.  Other therapies employ a  local injection, I believe. Medicare paid for almost all the cost. Worth looking into!!!

The group Regenexx says it’d be into the nasal cavities and Ins. pays naught. I’ll check on that Medicare thing. If I could run again it’d be a fricking miracle. I never loved running though I made my career that until my bicep transplant at age 25! Life changed at 24, heehee. The stroke in my 43 yr. was a relative breeze. I’ve had more reasons to get down n out since my 40s, but I’m very blessed to have had my parental, academic and other guidance since I was born, that I’ve got it made at 66! This new science might give me another shot at just walking without a limp in my gimp.  What more could I ask for?

Watch out for a “pell grant” scammer.  Be very careful. There is no grant monies given to anyone when there is a fee involved.

I applied for a Pell Grant while at TSU and was informed that I made too much money. It was in about ‘89. I was a real minority there. Everyone was very nice. The track coach asked me to take over his class one day he had to leave. I was 38 at the time.

I just received a message that Ellise Good Griot has passed away after complications from heart surgery. She put up a good fight. Thoughts and prayers for the family.

Here is the message:

This broken world could not hold and torment her any longer. Ellise answered God's call this afternoon. Surrounded with friends and family for two days she gently finally got to go home. A bittersweet yet triumphant Tuesday to complete her journey. Thank you for overwhelming persistent support through our final hospital visit.

It is so sad to lose Ellise--I enjoyed teaching such a fabulous student and later visiting with her at the class of '69 reunions. Judy, didn't you sit by her in my fourth-period class?

This is so sad.  God bless her family.  Elise was a sweet, sweet woman and a woman of God.  She will be missed.

I have been praying so hard since Ellise had her surgery and as her sister, Connie, has kept me updated.  I am heartbroken for her family and for all of us that loved her.  She was a beautiful person and wonderful friend.  I am so glad she came to the last reunion and we were able to spend so much time together.  Sending love and many prayers to her family.
