Kitty Allison (Hilton)

Joe, I was a library assistant, too...I loved it! She had a son named, Allison. Of course, I've never forgotten that...it was quite unique to have a boy named Allison!

JD: Do I EVER wish I still had that little bug eye! Not sure I could climb up out of it anymore, though. ;) Getting DOWN into it is the easy part. Gee, between the whopping big six-gallon gas tank and the 60 mpg, I'd be "riding high" and I'd probably have to keep it under lock and key to keep someone from highjacking it.

John Shadwell, anyone would be proud of those milestones! You are sure to be even more homesick now, after hearing Lynn Langham's great music! Better get your plane tickets! Yes, you can. :)

Joy, where is your beauty tip for the day?

Tony Barnard, belated Happy Birthday!

Joe, I spent so much time at Surfside. Those are such wonderful memories.

Kathy Harkreader (Jones)

Hey Joe! I have a little reunion booklet from '94 that says Billie lived in Rice at that point. She was so much fun! She and Joy were really good friends, so maybe Joy knows.
I've enjoyed reading about you LJ people and the experiences you had in elementary school. :)
My sister lived at Surfside, so my family spent a lot of time there w/ her family. She lived a couple of blocks from the water so I walked to the beach there at the jetties all the time before I could drive.
Can you believe we could drive at such a young age?
I can't believe any of you skateboarded down the Surfside bridge! :)
I would never let my kids do the things I did...of course, it was such a different world back then.

Billie's last name was Bone.
I keep editing my messages...in case anyone wonders if they are losing it. :)

Hey Susan Flynt (or anyone else)--do you remember a little girl named Becky Hunt? I think she lived in your neighborhood. I believe she went to school w/ us in 6th grade. I liked her so much!

04/26/09 05:55 PM #577

Joe Ballard

Becky Hunt lived across the street from us for a while as kids If I remember she was a year younger

Cyndie Strother (Cunningham)

Joe, wasn't Darla Davis your neighbor? I remember her from jr. hi and seems like she went to Bport. But I don't remember if she graduated or not?

Do you remember Gail Harris. She lives in LJ now. She moved to Angleton in 9 or 10th grade when her Dad remarried.

Yea, growing up in LJ in the early 60's sure was fun. Nothing like what my grandson can even imagine.

My grandson goes to Beutel... it's so funny to go have lunch with him and look around and think... Mrs. Johnson's class was there, Mr. Gibson's class was there. We had music in that room. Hunter is just amazed that the school is still standing!!

Cyndie Strother (Cunningham)

Joe, I wish I had one of her books. They are out of print and sell anywhere from $100-200. It's one of those things that needed to be written down because people don't tell stories like that anymore.

She was great.

04/26/09 06:21 PM #584

Joe Ballard

I know she would just capture us all I wonder if Clute or Freeport had her come and tell those stories

04/26/09 06:32 PM #585

Joe Ballard

GaiL Harris we traded disks I believe awhile we were in Fifth? Did you see her then since she moved back

04/26/09 06:37 PM #586

Cyndie Strother (Cunningham)

Yea.. we had coffee one day. She's never married. She has lived a varied life... worked on private yachts all over the world. Lived in the northwest somewhere.. maybe Washington. Anyway, she inherited her Dad's house and moved back, got tired of always being on the water. She works as a purchasing contractor at BASF (or as we knew it, Badische). In fact, Sonny Knox is the one who told me she was working there. He had gone over to her office.

Maybe I should see if she wants to come to the reunion and get her signed on. I know she said she hated moving to Angleton at the beginning of her high school years. She asked me about tons of people.
