I'm sorry to report that today's Brazosport Facts lists Virginia Zahn in the obituaries. I've added it to the In Memory section.

We had so much fun at breakfast this morning-laughed and laughed. It's a good thing we were in a room to ourselves-
we were very loud. Missed everyone that didn't come. Maybe ya'll will come the next time we get together. Plans for a holiday get-together in the works. More to come later

Hey Guys, its been a long time since I came to the forum also. Its so nice to know it is there even if I don't get to it as often as I would like.

There is such peace and joy on this site. I try to explain to some of my friends about our class and they just can't take it in. I believe God has honored his Word when we naively chose it for our class motto. I also believe He answered many prayers for our class. I shared our motto with a friend who is at her reunion this weekend. She was embarrassed that hers was, "Beer is great, sex is heaven, we're the class of 77". What a contrast, huh. I know God has blessed this class.

Be in prayer for me as you go about your next couple of weeks. This semester is coming down to the wire. I have a major interview then must write it up with research references. Along with that, other small papers and tests. This along with teaching gets to be a lot at times, but I am encouraged by your prayers and my God who loves me. I pray that God uses this for His glory when I get through. I will be through with this semester on Nov. 21st. I will have a break over the holidays!

Baby Frankie will come on Nov. 17th if not sooner. Thank you for your prayers. I will post pictures as soon as she gets here. I will be very busy so here is wishing you all a very blessed Thanksgiving. Stay safe and continue in the joy of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Judy, the nature of this class is NO ACCIDENT. Alice Lee Day Smith was the final speaker at the Sunday Service (before Gary's closing prayer). Certainly to my surprise, Precious Sweet Pea Alice shared that she has been praying for the class of 1969 for over 40 years!!!! How about that? I don't know about y'all but I was certainly obnoxious in high school (and a great deal longer - mmmm, I have my days now, too) but Alice has been praying for me and you, too. I think her faithful, intercessory prayers are bearing fruit. Thank you, Precious Sweet Pea. We are so blessed to have you in our midst and you have been so, so patient with us all these years.

p.s. Sweet Pea is under the weather right now - in her words, coughing & blowing - so lets pray for her health to be restored ASAP.

I don't get on here as often as I might, either and I'm convinced that we are all benefitting from the faithful prayers of Alice to this day. I am beginning to think this is why I ended up at the reunion; in order to reconnect to folks who I may or may not have been close to before but can now pray for and lift up on a regular basis. Father, I want to lift up Virginia's family to you today...may Your Grace and strong Hand be on each of those who are hurting in these coming days. I pray for Judy as she studies in these coming weeks; please, Father give her grace and strength that she might finish strong, then use her to Your glory. Please touch Alice and allow her to regain her strength and comfort her as her illness runs it's course. May You grant each of us the Grace to rely on You alone and not on our own understanding. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for all you give us each day, we ask all this in your precious Name, Amen.

WOW! Judy's post brought me to tears and then I continued to read Carrol's and Skip's messages...thank you, GOD for our faithful classmates and the power and manifestation of our united prayers. We are truly a blessed group of people in this world. The magnitude of our blessings is overwhelming. Thank you! My love to each of you.

Susie (Gerry Sue) Reichenbach (Tyler)

Hello everyone: I haven't been on the forum in a very long time but I first want to wish a Happy Birthday to all the October birthday folks.

I thank Alice also for praying for our class for the last 40 years and it has truly touched my heart to connect to classmates that I didn't really know in school. God has blessed me with so many friendships from the reunion and this forum.

Judy: I will be in prayer for your upcoming tasks but you will come through it wonderfully with the help of our God. He is such an awesome God and he is so GOOD!! I will also be praying for Baby Frankie that all will be ok.

I hope Alice is feeling much better by now, she is so faithful to have keep all of us in her prayers for so many years, I believe that God has answered maybe some of those prayers after seeing what everyone is saying here.

Skip your prayer was awesome and you truly have a heart for God.

I thank God for the friends he has brought me close to and pray that he will continually bless each and every one of you. Carrol has been a magnificient blessing to me and I pray God will heal her back problems as she and Alice have brought this class together with this website and all the reunion happenings.

I hope you all have a very blessed day-

Alice Day (Smith)

I too haven't been on the message forum for about a month. Thank you Carrol for staying up with all the posts. Gerry Sue, you are the sweetest woman on earth. You were so sweet in high school, and you are more so even now. I love you friend.

I am feeling great. Testimony -- I couldn't speak on Sunday, but when I had to speak on Monday, I wasn't hoarse AT ALL, didn't have a sore throat, or need to blow my nose. ;-) But by the end of the day, my voice was weak again. To me it was a miracle that I had such a clear voice to lead and speak to people about Jesus. Go God!!!

Carrol, thank you for your encouragement. Only Eddie and my closest friends knew the intercessory prayer assignment I had for Brazosport 69. I can't believe I just blurted it all out on that Sunday morning of the reunion. But reality is, when God asked me to start a before school prayer meeting in 10th grade, by the time we were Seniors, my prayer for all of us was much greater. After I had left for college, one day Jesus reminded me during prayer, of my commitment to the class of 69 classmates. He asked me if I would be willing to continue praying? (what I love about Jesus is that He never forces us, but lovingly allows us to do His perfect will IF we will listen and obey Him). I said "yes." I can't say I prayed for all of you everyday, but I will say I prayed for our class at least once a week. No one is more blessed than me...to see how beautiful, fulfilled, and whole you are in your journey with life. And to learn how SO MANY OF YOU have a relationship with the Lord means one day in heaven we will continue this love-fest. Glory.

I too thank Alice for her faithful prayers for us all. Everyone of us that have given our lives to Jesus know the miracle of His salvation and the key role that prayer plays in this great blessing.

The scriptures tell us that "the prayers of a righteous man (woman)availeth much." Another translation uses the phrase "powerful and effective" in place of "availeth much". Alice's prayers are evidence of this great truth.

I think most of us believe that is true, yet we often don't feel "righteous" and therefore often pray without great hope or faith. The apostle Paul teaches us that there is a form of righteousness that comes to believers apart from our own abilities to achieve it...a righteousness that comes purely by our faith in the finished work of Jesus. We also learn that "He (Jesus)who knew no sin, became sin so that we might be called the righteousness of God."

God, in His great mercy, has declared us to be righteous and now let us continue to offer our many prayers and intercessions up with the greatest faith knowing that they are "powerful and effective". Don't wait to pray when all else fails...let's pray up front and see the victory.

So, don't worry about anything, but make all your prayers and petitions known to Him with thanksgiving and receive the "peace that passes understanding"... knowing that He is standing by to carry us through. Also, don't carry your prayer burdens alone...let us know how we might best pray strategically with you.

God bless you all as we press on into the next season of our lives.

Good heavens, look what I found! Probably riding behind 'the mosquito man' was a PERFECTLY HEALTHY thing to do, too. Its a wonder we didn't all grow a 3rd eye.

I remember seeing that billboard in Times Square when I was a little girl. We came home from Puerto Rico via NYC. My dad smoked Camels right up until the day of his 1st quadruple bypass. Am I imagining things or does anyone else remember science teacher, Mr. Davidson, smoking in class? Was that about 7th grade? 6th? Freeport Jr. High had Mr. Holder and Mr. Williams, too.

Hi Everyone....been on the road again...me singing!!!
Well......I have nothing but praises to sing to our LORD! Thank you LORD so much for asking Alice to pray, and for her discipline to pray for us...the class of 1969!!! Thank you Carrol, Alice, and Gerry Sue for bringing us all together, and doing a great job all in LOVE!!!! Thank you all for everyone that helped in any way!!!! You are all the best!!! Alice, happy to hear you are feeling better! Carrol didn't know about your back, but I would like to know...have back problems myself, but the weight loss has sure helped me!!!! May GOD bless each of you richly, and the class of 1969!!! Love you all...and please do let me know if you need prayers!!! Don't ever give up, and never give up on anyone...pray to the LORD, and believe that what you pray HE will answer!!! I recently heard Revelations when John saw Heaven, and the great future OUR SAVIOR has for us!!! Wow...we have a great future here, and even a greater furture there with OUR LORD!!! Imagine this...12 layers of beautiful stones...some we have never seen with 3 gates of pearl on every side!!! WOW! I have forgotten how many miles high Heaven is...does anyone know?! The speaker calculated it in miles!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW! This Christmas my adorable husband Randy will be there 10 years. GOD says there will be no tears, but I know I will cry tears of "joy" to see him, and JESUS!!! Now I might be speechless for the first time in my life, but I know I will squeal and cry!!!! Oh...and I will never quit saying yippppeee in Heaven...ya'll are stuck with it for eternity!!!!hahahaha...

Speaking of prayers....yesterday GOD gave a miracle to a young woman that had lived a very sad life for years raising a little girl. Rachel had addiction problems, and was involved in a satanic cult. GOD has changed her life, and healed her from Hepatitis C so that she can continue her profession as an LVN, which she could not continue nursing with this uncurable disease. She thought because her sin that she would have to live with the illness for the rest of her life as a reminder of her sin. BUT...GOD gave her a miracle, and the blood test were completely clear of Hepatitis C, and 3 doctors gave her a clean bill of health!!!! She is smiling from ear to ear, and praising OUR LORD JESUS. Her daughter, Ivy is smiling from ear to ear too, and has also turned her life over to the LORD JESUS! I PRAISE YOU LORD FOR ANSWERED PRAYER!!!!!!!!!! Yipppppppeeeeee

So...no matter what you fear, or the circumstances of your life...never give up! Give it all to the LORD JESUS, and HE WILL HEAL YOU and all you pray for!!

Guess what?? Lost 43 pounds....50 here I come!!!! Thank you LORD for giving me the will power to continue on!!! I have been on this diet for 4 months on October 23rd!!! Joy, In Revelations, John talks about the new Jerusalem that God moves down to earth, being a perfect cube. It is as wide as it is long as it is tall. Estimated distance, 1500 miles wide, long and tall. Twelve stories with 12 different stones. You can find this in Revelations, Chapter 21. I study this last Wednesday and my pastor was over tonight and we discussed this more in depth. I told Brother David I thought it to be 1400 miles wide, etc. All I know is that it is going to be beautiful! Hope I helped you.

I am really looking forward to the Holiday Gathering. Everyone needs to sign up because it won't be the same with you. Hope everyone has a great week and ENJOY this beautiful weather!

Running behind the mosquito truck--how I loved that smell. Deep breaths! Never mind that it killed 2 pet parakeets. All the posts are inspirational. Susie--love the Thanksgiving video message. Thanks!

Glad you liked it, Donna Rae. I cannot believe the mosquito spray killed 2 parakeets (well, yeah, I guess I can! I just didn't ever know that happened) Why didn't y'all teach Poopie to run behind the mosquito man & breathe deeply? Boy, to this day she is still the most hateful dog I have ever known.
special,precious

VETERAN'S DAY, Veterans are men and women who served in the military (U.S.Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard) in times of war or peace. We pay Tribute to: Today, I honor and cherish the memory of all those who have in the past, stepped forward to take the challenges. They are all heroes, the veterans of all wars, they who gave all to keep us free here at home and abroad. Their sacrifice keeps America the world's great hope for democracy, freedom, and equality-and God willing-peace, lasting peace for the whole world.

I pray we lift Marian's mom up now and ask the comforter to bring comfort to her and her loved ones. I pray that Marian to be surrounded by angels that tend to her and her family's needs. Heavenly Father we thank you for all things great and small. We thank you for our days here and that we all continue in praise lifting up the name of Jehovah our God. Thank you Father for hearing our prayers as we unite as one along with Marian in prayer for her mother.
