Larry Ulstein FORMAN

After graduating from SUNY OSWEGO, I entered the Navy and was commissioned an Ensign. I served with the Seabees in the Philippines, and then was assigned as a Naval Gunfire Liaison Officer with the Marines. I left Active Duty in 1976, and retired from the Reserves as a Lieutenant Commander.

After the Navy I worked for a short time in Facilities Maintenance at the Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point, NY) and remained in that general field until my retirement with the State of Florida in 2011.

To be quite honest, with few exceptions Wingate was a total waste of time. I graduated in '69-- we were all involved with the big teacher's strike and the riots. Their 'guidance counselors' were the epitome of 'those who can't do and can't teach become Guidance Counselors!'.

I worked nights since I was 15, so I really didn't have much of a social life as a student.
