I was in Mrs. Frietz (sp?) in the first grade too, but I don't recognize me in any of the pictures unless it is in the second row down, second girl from the left.  Maybe I am in the missing half, or perhaps not there on the picture day.

Great picture. Always amazing how little we change!  Top right Leo Kuehn?? Definitely Kenny Heigh and Alan Vasbo at the bottom.  I also had Mrs Freit in 1st grade, Miss Chaney in 2nd, Mrs Heidenstrom in 3rd, Mr Hazen wasn't my favorite-He used to call me "Delbert" and throw erasers at me. Donald Kelly! When I arrived at receiving barracks at USMC boot camp, we stood on yellow footsteps. Suddenly, a gunnery sergeant came over to me and said some Marine in the guard post wanted to see me. It was Don Kelly! He was an E-5 sergeant and had four weeks till discharge. He wished me wonderful time in the Corps for my next two years. Such a gentleman, gd it!

The Sunnydale class photo is pretty cool.  I didn't go there, but recognize a few faces. Top row, sixth from right is Hurley DeRoin.  Middle row second from left is (me thinks) Lynn McEachern .

Linda,

I think we've confirmed that it's Kindergarten at Sunnydale.

Loving reading everyone's comments!

That explains why I am not there.....I  did not go to kindergarten....started in first grade.  I was sick the first 2 days of school.  I remember it well, because I didn't know that we had to wait for lunch to eat, so when I got hungry I got up to get something from my lunch.  Mrs. Friet (?) told me in front of the class that was inappropriate and I had to wait until lunch time.  The embarassment must have been great because it is one of those memories that just doesn't go away.

There is a Facebook page called "you know you are from Burien if you remember" They have nearly 3000 members and many nostalgic entrees. Check it out and you will find alot of people you probably knew.

My wife and I attended the 50th reunion and had a very enjoyable evening.
There was a man interviewing and video taping class members throughout the evening
About a week later I received a letter from the video company stating that I could purchase the video for $29.99 and did. It has been two months since I mailed the check and have not received the CD. I have had several phone converstions with the company and was told each time that they were  running behind schedule and the CD should be in the mail within the week.
Have any of you that ordered the CD received it yet or are you experiencing the same run around as I?

Just watched "Evening" on channel 5 and they had a tribute to Lou Tice, our football coach and teacher.  Forgot to record it. For those who may not know he and his wife founded The Pacific Institute and he became famous as a motivational speaker. Pete Carrol gave him alot of credit for his own success. Lou passed a few years ago. I think most of us can still duplicate his signature which we used for hall passes.  I think that was the first thing he taught in his class. I suggest that you look up the Pacific Institute and see all that they have accomplished.

I remember he said one time, "Little things bother little people."  Oh, take my advice and don't use that quote in any argument with your spouse.  Dennis Morse

Thanne, let me know if the DVD was worth the wait. I haven't ordered mine yet. I don't know what the  waiting  time would be now.

I received my copy on Monday (about time). Watched it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't believe how many of the interviewed class mates still reside in the Burien area.

Mr. James Watt how about those Seahawks? I can smell another Super Bowl. By the way go ahead and purchase the class reunion CD. It's worth the $29.99. Expect a shorter delivery time I hope.

Hi Tom

Here's the info you requested regarding Raines Video Production

Address: 1749 SW Terrace Drive, Portland Oregon 97201

Phone Number: (503) 274-9635

Email Address: www.rainesvideo.com

Did some detective work, after the fact, on the comapny. They are not listed with the BBB but had 37 complaints against them. Bascially soliciting your order for the video and then promptly cashing the check and taking forever to mail it.

Frank Rush,

We never checked out Raines background, and I can only respond as to the videos he produced for the Mt Rainier Class of 1964 40th and 50th reunions. Richard did a great job in both instances. He might take a while to respond as during the summer he is swamped doing all the reunion videos. And maybe he waits for the checks to clear before sending off the DVD's. But I feel confident that you WILL get your DVD. Or maybe he just doesn't like Pirates. :)  He also has a toll-free number -- 800-654-8277.

I'm surprised that I am the only one so far that has been scammed.  And am curious as to why they picked your names, Larry and Karla.  Besides that, I know our English teachers taught us to write better than that. Glad you are both well, that you are not stuck somewhere, and if you ever are, write a more convincing letter than the one I received!.
