David Wood

Went to Cisco Jr. College for 2 years, NTSU for 2 years, and Tarleton State University for 2 years. I worked at Covington High School for 14 years as a business teacher, coach, principal, and supt. Covington's school colors were royal blue and white, just like Carbon's. We played 6 man football and met and played the Carbon Wolverines at Iredell in 1967. Carbon won, but it was close. I then went to Malone Tx, still in Hill County, to be their supt. for 20 years. I retired in 2001 a few months before 9-11. Since then I have kept busy with serveral interesting jobs, such as Juvenile Probation Officer in Hill County, Business Manager at Italy ISD, and Marketing Consultant for Ambit Energy.

Many, many good times with my classmate friends, James Arnold, Marvin Cates, Eddie Frasier, Jimmy Warren, and others such as Danny Arnold, Joe Paul May, Weldon Cook, Gary Norris, Gene Wood, and others. The 11 girls in my class were all fine girls, and pretty. Ruby Raspberry was also a special friend and her husband, Don. I shouldn't have mentioned names because I probably left out some of the friends that were good to me, Benny Frasier, Don Guy, and many others. Carbon was a friendly place with a lot of wonderful people.
One time in English class I told Mrs. Fox that I didn't have my homework because my mother was an alcoholic and I had to take care of her. For those who knew my mother knew that that was a big lie because Mother, as far as I knew, never touched an alcoholic drink. My sweet cousin, Nancy Benton Lowrance, spoke up and told Mrs. Fox that I was lying. Thank you Nancy for causing me to get a 0. ha
