Kelly and I went to the same elementary. I remember one day some of the boys at North Elementary convinced him to let them use his crutches. He sat on one of the big upturned tractor tires in the school yard and the boys raced around using his crutches. He just laughed. Then he chased them around on the crutches and could really hold his own. I remember tears coming to my eyes when our class and the audience in the Centrum cheered the loudest for him when he crossed the stage at graduation.
Kelly was my neighbor for many years. I remember going to his house to play video games with him. I was always amazed at how happy he was even though some times you could tell he was in pain. He is one person in my life where I will always remember his face. Thanks Kelly for all the fun times.
