Is rhere nobody else left alive who remembers Jim, even with a brief comment? That is the problem with a class as large as ours. So many good, honest, humble, sincere, hardworking, and talented classmates we had whom we never met or knew. I did know Jim, but not real well. He was introduced.to me by fellow classmate (Dr) Francis McMann, my best friend. I was delighted to have him pop up on my facebook about a year ago as friends of a friend. We became F/B friends, and it was interesting to see where he went and what he did. Obviously, he was a very talented and honest auto mechanic who has his own shop for decades. There is nothing better to have than an honest mechanic these days, and Jim was one of them! On top of the love he had for his children, he was also a great friend to all his furry friends. RIP Jim. All your furry ftiends that knew you will be so happy to meet you at the Rainbow Bridge!

I met Jim in the 3 rd grade when we moved to the southeast side and started attending Buchanan school. We remained close friends through junior and senior high school. We cruised the avenue together relentlessly. We double dated occasions. Jim was my best man at my wedding. After I got out of the service, we picked up our friendship where we left off. Now we're married with kids and played cards together with our wives. Jim and hunted a lot together along with trap shooting and some hand gun shooting. After retirement my wife and I moved south but we remained friends all these years. We always tried to get together when we visited CR. Jim was a great man and miss him dearly.

You're  right Pete. A class as large as ours there's lots of people you don't really know. Jim was in my homeroom but being the quiet kid I was I didn't say 2 words to anyone. As I remember he was a nice guy.

Jim lived around the corner from me, on 16th Ave SE, a few houses from Meis grocery. If I recall correctly, we were in the same scout group for a year. We were acquainted but really didn't hang out. His wife Sherry is my cousin, not close though.
