Sorry to hear of his passing. Spent some time with him at our 50th reunion and he seemed to be enjoying Nashville. He talked about his enjoyment on the lake and boating. Like Pete James, I remember his family moving to Signal Mountain in Junior High I think. He and his brother Don were the cool, new kids in town. He ran track at City and was a welcome addition to our team. He always seemed to enjoy life to the fullest. Sad to see another classmate leave us but I guess none of us are getting any younger are we?
What Steve Campbell said. She was so nice. She always had something good to say and I don't ever remember her saying anything ugly about anything or anyone. We should all share her demeanor...
I am curious if anyone knows the details of Linda's death. She recently posted a comment on an obituary of a friend's son (David Hunter https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/hixson-tn/david-hunter-9247147) on July 5, 2020 but there is no obiturary for her in Chattanooga that I can find. I hope folks did not confuse that posting with her death. Her brother Bill is still in Chattanooga so I would think there would be some news. I hope this is just a mistake but we have lost a lot of classmates.
Last time I talked to Wendell we were both talking about retiring. About a hundred years ago we worked together at Notre Dame High with several other City grads and Coach Phifer. He was a really talented pitcher at UT and a great guy to work with. He was always upbeat and never took himself or life too seriously. Sad to see another classmate leave us. My best to his family.
Sammy Mountain. Nortons, Moto Guzzis, and other motorcycle were his passion in early years. Vietnam Veteran. Rest in Peace.
Thad was a mountain boy. I remember when we got into a "fight" over a girl in Jr. High. Mr Butler, our principal, paddled both of us and reminded us in no uncertain terms that we were much too young to be quarreling over girls. Good advice from a wise man. RIP Thad.
