Sad news...  Jim was always one to whom the underdclass could up to in many respects...   We're losing too many too soon!

Bob that TKE party was at his home in King Of Prussia.  I remember it was a blast and Charle Smith and the Bird legs Spellman went at it.  Just talking to Walt Reickart ( spelled his last name wrong ) also a TKE brother.  he is going through Chemo for a tumor they found on his spine  was told that it can be cured but he told me that the cure is hell

I regret to inform everyone that John Donnan, TKE Class of 65 passed away recently.  Bob Grosch let me know. John was the guy who rode the White Horse onto the field before all home football games.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Hello Gents, I hope this message reaches all who have been interested and have followed our efforts to procure a cup/glass for the Last Bottle Club idea that was floated some months ago. Unfortunately, I have bad news to announce. (Clark, could you republish this in case I haven't done it correctly?)
After a long search across several states and much deliberation in our Reunion Committee, it has been decided that to cup idea just isn't cost effective. We found cups in the 2-4 oz range for as little as $5 or $6 but the engraving process adds anywhere from $30 upwards, depending on number of characters and lines needed. Once completed (and a couple of sample cups were engraved), the lettering is hard to even see on such small spaces on the cup. On top of that, the process of collecting the money in time to complete everything just put it in the "too hard to do" category. So, regrettably, the committee voted against it. While all like the idea, it turned out not to be viable.
Nevertheless, I believe we can still accomplish to idea at our reunion if we all bring our own mugs or cups (surely we all have something that will fit the bill) and have a toast to our fallen classmates and remembrance of the Cadet Corps when we gather on campus in Oct. While not the same, this would at least meet the spirit of our intentions.
Sorry for the bad report, but I look forward to seeing Everyone at the Grand 50th Celebration this Fall. "Bottoms Up!"
Semper Fi, Bill Symolon

Sorry to hear that Jim Miele and Jay Donnan  have passed away.  My prayers and and sincer condolences go out to thier Families.  It was in the mid '80s that I ran into Jim and Walt Reichert playing Racket Ball in King of Prussia.  When we finished we went out for a drink and talked about old time and the other men we knew at PMC.  Jim and his roomate Bill use to mess with Al Sullinder and me on Friday nights in the Dorm.  They had this Tuba......

May they Rest in Peace!  Ed F.

Frank,

Next time you talk to Walt Reichert, please send my best wishes to him!  He, Walt Tucciarone, and John (the Rabbit)  Jackson came Home with me to Deer Hunt at Thanksgiving Time up in the New York Mountians.  Unfortunately we did not get one!  Tucciarone loved my Mothers Pies,  I think while they were there we ate about 9 Pies.  My Mom didn't care she just made more for the Holiday!  Don't know where Walt is so if you get an address please let me know and I will drop him a get well card.  Thanks Ed F.

Hello All,

If you're interested in getting something to hold your beer (or other libation), I suggest you contact Tom's Glassworks. It's GLASS, not metal, but the prices are inline with what you want, and you can have them in about 2 weeks. Here's a sample for $20 with FREE engraving. You can check his online catalog for other things you might want.

https://www.tomsglassworks.com/item-509-5262-one-liter-33-oz-engraved-beer-mug.html

Tom's personal address if someone wants to contact him is:

tom@tomsglassworks.com

Tell Tom I recommended him, and who knows what might happen. Worst would be he delivers all the mugs in one big pile of glass.

I bought a set of highball glasses (12 oz) with a 4-masted schooner etched into one side for $60. If anybody wants to see the picture, send me your email here and I'll send you the picture.

Was great seeing all those who attended the "gathering" at PMC yesterday. My first time seeing the PMC Museum, and it brought back many fond memories.

Zoomer, Snowman, et. al. from '66 were there, and Dishaw and Carter look like they physically can still play for the Eagles!!

Fred McGinney and Harry Lutz (aka Henry Lutz) and I road together, and on the way home, we talked politics. Now I really know why I love you guys............ the take away was that Obama TOTALLY SUCKS, and John "the Root" Redmond Rules !!

Best to all,

Jerry

I attended the  University's new president's inauguration yesterday. The program was good. If you are interested, a story is in today's Daily Times.

The new president, Dr. Wollman, received the highest accolades from the Board of Trustees and her peers.

I was most impressed by her formal address, which was progressive and a challenge for all members of the Widener University community.

I am looking forward to her leadership.

Everyone,

Regarding Ed's question and Jerrys' (Jerry/Gerry please tell us how you want it spelled, I always hesitate) response.  I'm sure there are many of us who have either lost our rings or they don't fit anymore and can't be resized (I'm sure because they're too big).  The coming reunion (and advancing age)  is dredging up a lot of nostalgia and we've thought about replacing them.  Well I contacted Balfour and they replied that they cannot do anything for us because they no longer hold a liscence for PMC or Widener.  The suggested we contact the college and find out who has the liscence now.  I contacted the school Alumni office and I'm waiting for a call back.  I will let everone know as soon as I get and answer.

Morning Clark;

Jerry with a J, Gerald with a G.

While Balfour is not licensed to produce our rings any longer, I am confident that they can and will make mods. since they already produced our rings in '66. I have had mine resized by them when it shrunk, and the stone replaced with a Star Saphire (the color of our Dress Delta Uniforms). They did an excellent job. Certainly worth a call to Balfour.

I believe the current ring company used by Widener is Jostens.   In the late-1980's the family of Les Quick, then a trustee and later Chairman, wanted to surprise him with a replacement of his long-lost PMC ring.   I loaned them my ring to use to make the mold.   The link to the Jostens site for Widener rings is:

Bill Allanch,65,1st Captain and I became friendly,(being teammates on the football team).  I remember he enrolled in the ROTC Flight Program on campus.  Lost touch until recently, when I received Facebook burbs of him.  One such picture had Bill in a Tux with ribbons on his chest.  All of us were just notified of General Tililli,63, and 1st Lt. Geoghan's,63, induction into the ROTC Hall of Fame in Washington DC.  I thought this was a perfect time to make known Bill's feats.  As a Copter pilot he received the Distingushed Flying Cross, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Air Metal.  Well done Billy!.
