Hey Jerry,

We missed you, and seriously wish you a speedy recovery. It sounds like you have really been up against it.

As one who has unergone both hips and a revision along with a knee and shoulder replacement, I commiserate with you. I am currently awaiting my penal tuck, and after seeing some of our classmates, I think we all can apply for a package deal. It was graet seeing all the "boys", and especially for me "Little Dickey Murphy"out of Mahwah, New Joisey.

Hi Brother,

Ed Farrell told me you were hurtin, I knew about Curtie. Glad she is doing better Since you weren't there I'm going to tell you about my 50th. You'd do it for me...no doubt!

Friday I show up with Billy, Clark,TKE and Dave for a TV round table discussion of "What it was like to to be a PMC Cadet" I understand it will be on U-Tube.

Next I went to the Alumni Building., saw General Tilelli's uniform and History of PMC, I was impressed.

Right outside on the football field where we played...The ROTC Cadets were putting on a skills contest for us. Of course Dave Irons,TKE, won.

Saturday I went to the Tailgate party at Quick stadium. Next, the football game and Broom Drill...We lost.

That night I went to our 1966,50th reunion dance. I had a great time. Saw Zippy,TKE.... Kevin,TKE, said he was in great spirits. That was my highlight of the evening and the weekend.

YITB

Bobby,TKE

PS Missed some events but you were on the 50th committee, so you know about them. Thanks for the effort.

Hi Jerry, I am so sorry to hear about the problems you are having relative to your surgery. The reunion was great and I was so much looking forward to seeing you and Curtie. I hope to get back to Bethlehem next year and I will be sure to call. I hope you have a full and successful recovery. God bless.

Hey Guys, take a look ay Kevin Kislings profile page.  Some great pictues of the reunion.  Anyone else with pictures PLEASE share.  Put them on your profile page or enter them in the photo gallery.

just because the Reunion was 2 weeks ago, don't forget to check the site.  We also need to get more people to sign up.  There were many reconnections of classmates at the Reunion.  This site will stay up for at least the next 6 years, so 'keep those cards and letters coming'.

Hey Col Bill is that one of your BIRTHDAY PARTY buds?  Looks a little INTENSE to me.  Maybe next time I'm in FLA we could call upon her to sit next to Boltz and keep him calm!  Be Well and remember your friends in New Jersey!

Dear Classmates,

I have sad news to report.  Frank Pellegrini called to let me know that Jan Zarkin passed away early this morning.  Those who attended the Reunion remember that Jan was there and was thrilled to be able to see so many Classmates. We don't have many details of possible arrangements.  Jan's obituary will appear in the Philadelphia Inquirer tomorrow or in the next few days.

We all need to keep his wife Joann in our thoughts and prayers as she deals with her loss.  We have all lost a classmate, friend, brother.  I am sure many of us have stories of Jan as we knew him.  Those are the things we need to remeber now.  That was who Jan was, not the man afflicted with ALS over the last 1-2 years.

God Bless

Clark,

What sad news.  Jan was a friend to all  he loved life and all our classmates.

Let's try to remember the good days and how "Zippy" brightened them.

My deepest sympathy and condolences to his wife and family.

RIP my friend.  May you sit at the right hand of God.

With tears of sadness,

Jeff

Very sad news.   His courage in the face of his illness was truly remarkable.

The following appeared in the Philadelphia Inquirer this morning.   It shows another side of the man we knew as Zippy!

RIP my brother until we meet again!

Just learned of Jan Zarkin's death. I spoke to Jan early this year. He seemed upbeat given his ALS diagnosis; and he was - "hell bent" - on attending our Class Reunion in October. We all enjoyed the time we spent with Jan and Joann at the dinner on Saturday evening. He could not speak; nevertheless, he showed great courage and he maintained his exceptional sense of humor (using his cell phone to text jokes back and forth). You will be missed brother Zip!

My sympathy to Jan's family. I lost a family member to ALS so I know what Jan went through. He is no longer suffering and is at peace. I am glad I saw and spoke with him at the reunion. Jan is now with our classmates who have gone before him.

Thank You to the Homecoming planners and all that attended a once in a lifetime weekend.  I am extremely proud of all those who attended.  For those who could not attend for many reasons I implore you to try to attend in the future.  I cannot believe how I was transported back to the old days of the cadet experience and how I felt no time had passed since 1966. (Mentally, not physically) .  To all our classmates who all no longer with us I felt your presence during the the  weekend as we recalled of our past experiences at PMC.  Hopefully this will be a start to many future Homecomings.  May all my classmates have a healthy and Happy New Year..
