Shelley (65) Horwitz (65)

Jerry,

A short lesson in English...

When you bitch and moan about how things are, when you complain about how things oughta, when you blame others for the ills of the world, when you take potshots at people without evidence our reasoning, when you scream about the injustices to any organization, when you quote statistics without rhyme or reason.... that's ranting and raving!

When you propose a solution, when you suggest a better way, when you have a better alternative, when you name a candidate who'll do a better job (and has provien it with past performance)... and then YOU do your damndest to make those things happen and get those people elected... THAT'S PASSION!!!

Col Bill, Shelly, Jerry and all the rest of our class reading all of this.  Best course of action is to relax and keep from hyper-ventilating.   Provide for your and your loved ones survival in the event of bad times.  When Rome and all the other empires went down the tube - the voices of reason were ignored, just as we will be.  There are too many with vested interests in our dependancy based political system: The big government folks, The internal bankers who finance the government, all the way to the Welfare recipients looking forward to their various checks and food credit cards that they receive every month as they scam the system.   I am sure that things will not have changed much when we meet at the reunion next year.

Jerry,

How do we decide who "all disloyal people (non-believers in the Constitution of the United States of America)" are. As I recall, there were quite a few people who campaigned for the Bill of Rights? Those people would certainly fall into your definition of "disloyal people" who should be deported or executed.

As I understand the Constitution of the United States and the "Founding Fathers" who wrote it, the "Right of Dissent" is the cornerstone of our democracy. I'm afraid you can't have it both ways. You can't have Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Assembly, and all the other freedoms in our Constitution without having some people you don't agree with or are afraid of or who might be very very dangerous.

I believe it was Thomas Jefferson who said, "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."

Zoomer;

Yo.....I did answer you on your Profile. I said "I didn't know there was a Mrs.Cloud". Your question is too salcious for me not to ask the question........... Why are you asking???........please tell us more!! I can't wait for the answer. This might head Shelley off in a different direction other than busting my balls.

Henry;

I agree completely, but I believe with proper "management" we can get things in our Country headed back in the proper direction. While there's been a great deal of damage done, I believe that it is reversible if (as Shelley says) we focus on solutions. Getting re-elected is not one of them. Time is certainly of the essence.

Shelley;

Pretty easy for me. If they are counterproductive to the mission of making and keeping our Country great......like Planned Parenthood, Black Lives Matter, Occupy Wall Street, i.e. any organization put forth and funded by Soros.... they have to go. They don't like the USA anyway. Let them go vent on a small uninhabited island somewhere, and eat one another.

Thomas Jefferson also said "Freedom isn't Free".

Colonel Cottee would have flunked you in his Logic class, but I still love you man.

All: Question of the Day - Somebody help me understand why in America, those of the Jewsish faith vote for and still support an anti-Zionist Obama who has planted the seeds of Isreal's destruction. Isreal is our greatest ally. Netanyahu for POTUS. Obama already trashed the "you gotta' be a citizen" thingy.

Do you have a picture of Mrs. Cloud? I want to hang it in my bathroom.

If not, just provide details as to what she looked like....vivid details.

Zoomer;

Did Old Main have a 4th floor? Gekoski and I roomed on the 3rd (with no heat) across from Pierpont and Watt. The 4th was the nipple, right?

Why did you go to the 4th when the Secretaries were on the 1st??  I'm confused !!

When General MacArthur was told by Roosevelt to be "politically correct" when negotiating the Japanese surrender, MacArthur asked him to define "politically correct". Roosevelt responded

Political Correctness is a doctrine, recently fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and promoted by a sick mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of shit by the clean end!

Jerry,

Never meant to bust your balls... you just made it so easy! <chuckling>

Love the Roosevelt quotation. It's one of my favorites. Seems you have found something on which we agree 110%.

Shelley

Shelley (65) Horwitz (65)

Ah, Jerry, I am delighted by your political correctness quote, but you are a little off the mark on attribution. Even in the Internet arcana, it is not attributed to Roosevelt (who was not even President at the time of the Japanese surrender), but to Harry S. Truman. Then, it cannot even be attributed to Truman with any degree of certainty, and can almost certainly be proven not to be his utterance.

Here's the link if you want to check it out: http://www.snopes.com/politics/quotes/trumanpc.asp

10/19/15 10:06 AM #88

Gerald F. Jr. Johnson

Shelley;

Right on. Good catch. I had read somewhere that Roosevelt had made the Politically Correct suggestion to MacArthur sometime in 1945 in preparation for the eventuality of Japan's surrender. I agree that Truman would have never said anything like that. He was Too Progressive.

You need to get more sleep, buddy. I checked the timeline on your messages. You need a minimum of 8 hours a night, with no Saturday morning inspections. Then you'll be cleaned and pressed !!

Did you know Mrs. Cloud??

Col. Bill Usmc (Ret. ) Symolon

Jerry,  In answer to your "Question of the Day" about why Jews in America keep supporting the Anti-Israeli Liberals....I have been asking myself that question for years.  If they would have me, I'd volunteer to help the IDF in a hearbeat.  Netanyahu is a shining leader for that country.  There's a good book by Norman Podhoretz titled "Why Are the Jews Liberals?"   He attempts to answer your very question and does a fine job, although it still confounds me.  Much has to do with their readings of the Old Testament, the Torah, historical fear of the Right, and other complicated issues.  A good read.

As to Shelley, and how do we identify the Bad Guys...Jerry nailed it.

II have often wondered about American Jews who seem to support the left wing in America---The left wing is anti-Semetic.. I admire Isreal and its armed forces.  American Jews are asleep at the switch---the lefties are not their friends!

Thanx for advice, Gerry (or do you prefer Jerry). I'll try to get more than my normal 3 hours one of these days.

Unfortunately, I didn't know Mrs. Cloud.

Vincent B. Ricci

Hi Jerry,

I knew Mrs. Cloud pretty well and of course Sgt. Cloud.  I was pretty tight with them as I was working fpr Rose McLaughlin, Head of Housekeeping.  Jack Karkowski (64? deceased 2015) and Steve Chiszar (63) I worked for Rose also.  Mrs. Cloud used to hang out in Rose's Office after she got done working in the mailroom.  She would wait for Sgt. Cloud to finish up work and then he would come down to Rose's office and have a cold bottle coke.  I was probably one of the few Cadets that could bum a Chesterfield cigarett off of Sgt. Cloud. Mrs.Cloud was a wonderful person. When I was a Cadet, shed got me supplis to do a presenttion for Military Science (Map Reading).

I love your views that you and Shelly are going on about pertaining to the politics now and then this country as well as what some of the other guys are saying.  I agree with a lot of the stuff you are talking about and I like some of the stuff Shelly is coming up with also.

This question is forCol. Bill S. (USMC - Retired).  Did you ever spend say a few months in Parris Island?  I ask because I have a cousin, Staff Sgt. Louis J, Costello, (Retired) who was a Drill Instructor at PI from about 1963 (?) until about 1967.  He was in M - 3 -8 before he became a DI when he was stationed in Camp LaJune. (did I spell that right?)  If you ran accross him, please let me know.  Thanks.

Vince Ricci

Vince,  I spent two years at Parris Island as a company commander training recruits, but not until 1972-74, so I did not run across your cousin, SSgt Costello.  I also served at Camp Lejeune, but didn't know him there either. The Marine Corps is a small organization, but we probably criss-crossed paths just missing.

Bill

Col. Bill;

Confounds me too. Supporting a movement that may end up promoting the demise of Israel is is ludricrous, especially if that's where your roots stem from. I'll get the book that you recommended (along with the book Mike Stalkus recommended - "One Second After" by Best).

We have a great friend and industry associate, Lloyd Graff, who a very strict follower of the Jewish faith. I asked him the question, and he told me it's because of Jewish persecution throughout the ages, and the Democratic party is the party of the downtrodden. Well........ that's Lloyds perception anyway.

Shelley;

Jerry with a J; Gerald with a G. Why my Mom did that I'll never know.

(3) hours a night doesn't cut it. I'm studying and following a book entitled "Power of 10" by Adam Zikerman & Bill Schley - "Once-a-week slow motion fitness revolution". Pretty unbelievable stuff, promoting a unique exercise program (once a week that kicks butt), nutrition, and rest. In order to build muscle and slim down, they posit that a minimum of 7 to 8 hours of good sleep a night is required, and power naps during the day are a good supplement as well. I'm trying to "hone" my body so I look like Col. Bill at the 50th.!! That will take me at least a year, and them some.

Vince;

Great to hear from you. What do you think Zoomer's attraction was to Mrs. Cloud?? And Zoomer -

Please define a "biblical experience".

Thanx, Gerry. I appreciate the information and the exercise regimen. Who knows, maybe I can look as good as you at the reunion. I'm not even aiming for Col Bill.

Thanks for the compliment Shelley, but I have a long way to go to get back into Rook shape!! My lovely Wife keeps telling me to "Drop and give me 10" but it doesn't seem to be working that well. You think it could be the beer??

D. Clark Wonderland

Hey Guys, great discussions going on.  Also some of you guys have been working to get other classmates to join us.  Great job.

This is OUR site, not my site, so I'm hesitent to do this, but I think we need some guide lines.  Just a couple to keep us civil and honorable.

1.  One of the main purposes of the site is to bring us back together; renew old friendshios; and let everyone know what's been going on in our lives.

2.  We have to keep our language civil, no foul language (within reason and I think everyone knows what I mean). Not that it's ever happened so far, but we've gotten close.

3. No off color pictures or cartoons.  Again everyone knows what I mean and it hasn't happened so far.

4. The discussions going on right now have been great.  Just remember there are a lot of classmates on the site and just as many opions, so keep it civil.

Enough said.  As Jerry already told me, I've gotten old, cranky, stodgy and need to find my sense of humor.

Okay keep getting after our classmates and get them on the site and most importantly, get them to the reunion.

Clark

Very well presented Clark.

I committed to Clark that if he promised to maintain his sense of humor, I would promise to dial it back a bit. With all due respect to Clark, I will most certainly do that. The other stuff about cranky, stodgy, etc. he made up = hyperbole.  Jim Kelleher would be very proud of his presentment and delivery!!

I still think Obama sucks.
