Well I moved to Borger Texas in the fall of 1985. I was working the oil fields in Texas till I got let go due to the economy. Then on Aug 13 1986 I joined the US Air Force to learn a trade in which I would be good in. I was moved to Kadena AB, Okinawa Japan for 3 years (87-90)! Then it was off to Minot ND. I spent 10 years going all over the world on allot of different type of missions. Then in Mar 2000 the AF sent me to Kunsan AB Republic of Korea where I spent a year away from my family just working away! Then in Mar 2001 they sent me right back to Minot AFB ND, finished off my military time as shop supervisor. I spent 20+ years in the Air Force. Seventeen of those active duty years were spent here at MAFB ND. I finely retired 1 Jan 2007 with a very successful career in Civil Engineering in the skilled trades as a Pipefitter/Plumber; also a ND licensed Water & Wastewater treatment operator.
As soon as I retired (Jan 07) I took a civilian Plumbing job at Peterson AFB CO. I spent 1.5 years there by myself because of the economy I could not get my house in ND sold, so I/we decided it would just be better if I applied for a job back in Minot ND, and I then move home!
I am now working as a civilian Pipefitter here at Minot AFB ND.
