My goy boy does everything but cook. He does like to spoil me so - no complaints there.

Mitch, I knew you were joking...I was just yanking your chains---but seriously folks , I would love to lighten up---10 pounds would be nice.

I couldn't be happier with my goy boy! Had the Jewish husband the first time around and it was not worth it.

We should have fixed my ex up with him. From what we have said to each other they were two peas in a pod.

Regardless of religion or politics - some of us have been lucky, unlucky, or missed love completely.

But I say it is like riding a horse. If you take a big fall, you get back on (No Louie - That was NOT a sexual comment). It is definately better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Fortunately we have great lives now and I hope most of our classmates do too.

How is that for TMI!!!!!!!

I totally agree with what you just posted. I have 3 wonderful children out of a terrible situation that lasted way too long.

As we spoke......I couldn't be happier now and am glad that you are happy as well.

Wouldn't know on the 10 lbs. In my case it is 50. Why don't you post some profile pics so we can see how life turned out for you and the people you are sharing it with?

In fact everyone who hasn't done that should consider it. It is wonderful how we have all blossomed and increased our families.

We are all like fine wines better with age!

Thanks to all of you who posted and sent me messages concerning the loss of my dad. The whole thing has just been surreal. All of my out-of-town kids were in town a week ago and had to come back again this week. That alone makes having a lot of kids worth it. The comfort they provided was priceless. I wish I had something profound to say about all of this, but my mind is blank.

Steven and Wendy, thanks for visiting and being there for me the second time around. I could cry just thinking about seeing you both after almost 40 years. Let's not wait another 40 years to get together again.

Val, I'll get in touch when I have more energy and time. Hopefully real soon.

Thank you HS friends for your support. "Old" friends really are the best.

xoxo,
Sandie

This should be of interest to all CHHS grads. Gary Stromberg has written a book, Every Tiger has a Tale.

If this has been mentioned before, then nevermind.

Sandie: Know my thoughts continue to be with you. I just discovered, when I read about your Mom, that I know your sister Deb and see your brother in law weekly.

As far as Gary Stromberg's book, we have invited him to come and sell his book at the reunion and he has accepted. So if you don't get around to buying it now, you can buy it on October 17th.

Gary will autograph the books sold at the reunion, right?

Oy all the goy, shiksa talk...I've lived in SD since 1980 where there aren't very many jews. There are only 2 kosher style delis. 15-20 miles away and 40-45 miles from my home. I have one local jewish girlfriend who is married to a non-jew, so all this talk takes me back to my mother's generation! My parents were holocaust suvivors and even they don't talk much like that! Of course my dad doesn't talk at all since he passed last August. I married a jewish man for 9 yrs and he was a good person who spoiled me. But it was not a relationship for all of my life. I was also asked to be married by a Catholic man who cheated on me all the time so of course I wouldn't marry him. He was a shmuck who used his shmuck too much. (Remember Carlos, Joyce, Sandy?) Men are men no matter what religion. Women are women no matter what religion. Culture does play into it where Jewish people may expect more, I think for the most part. This conversation has taken me sooooo back to the past.

Hi Clare,

Wow, some interesting thoughts today. I agree, culture definetly has an influence on who we may become as people. Free will is a big factor as well. I have been in mental health and education for many years. I have seen and heard things that have nothing to do with anything other than poor choices and a lack of conscience...enough of this lecture.

Sandy and I were talking about Lisa Weiner and I wondered if you had any clue where she is or what she is doing?

Thanks,

Beth

By the way, is the photo in the mail??

Beth, No I don't know where she is, and no I haven't sent the original photo. My scanner is not working so I checked with Staples and Kinko's and they are outrageously expensive. So I will go to my office (Premiere Properties) and figure out how to use the scanner there as I have so many photos that it will take some time to do. After I email to Val and others then I will actually mail the photos. I will definetly let you know when I mail them.

Steven, That is a great saying oh wise guy...uh I mean wise ass....uh I mean wise man. When I used to work at La Costa Resort & Spa as a massage therapist, one of the gals said "Do you ever feel guilty if you use too much of the oil?" I looked at her and said "Were you raised Catholic?" She said "yes". I burst out laughing and told her that I didn't think she was Jewish and those are the 2 religions that are into such guilt! And no, I didn't care if I used too much oil!

Sorry to bring up old memories
But your comments were well stated and a lesson for all.

Rodney Dangerfield once commented that the reason Jews don't believe in Hell was because they have already suffered enough!

Thanks.

Val,
I hadn't looked at the video section in quite some time. Wow, you've really put a lot of good stuff on there. What about adding the movie, "The Soloist" since it's about a Clevelander also. I don't have a link but the movie is either out or due out soon. I have the book but haven't read it yet, lol.

Sandie, I just added it to the very end of the video section on Video Corner. I saw the Soloist last week. Glad you like the page. It is packed full of stuff. Perry sent me a bunch of new links for it too.

Good morning,

I have lived in Florida for 22 years and not able to attend any reunions. As I have read the information on the upcoming reunion activities, it seems to be very odd to have the options that are being presented. It seems a person has to do an 'all of nothing' reunion experience and I find it a bit strange to receive such options. I have not said anything about it because I have not really participated over the years. This year, being interested in attending, I find I am put off by being pigeon holed into strict conditions for attending activities.

I am very grateful for this forum, for the strength of the reunion committe and for the overall efforts over the years to keep people connected. It has been a lot of fun for me to reconnect with so many classmates.

I realize the committee has to make arrangements for the activities and has to RSVP for numbers etc. The drawback I feel is locked into a 'package' arrangement or not attend at all.

These are some of my thoughts not intended to offend anyone.

A Forum is a forum,thank you.

Thank you for verbalizing so many of our feelings about the "all or nothing" choice.

Gerald, I just added your Cleveland you tube link to Video Corner. That was a little strange....!
