Many of us are growing older and, on occasion, have trouble finding things. Perhaps as an aide to the elderly, the administrator of this site might post the complete address for sending one's check to the reunion committee thus facilitating the likelihood of payment. Thank you Peggy Smith and Barbara Daly for previously furnishing me with this address which I put in the place where one puts stuff, and then can't find it, for safekeeping. Also why doesn't anyone live in North Dakota?

To Penny and any other class mates who need an extra copy of the address and RSVP page of our Invitation - I have made a personal copy of that page and so Penny you are not the only classmate that needed this.  We come prepared!  At least when the need comes up :).  So I will email (in an attachment) that form to anyone who needs it.  My email address is smithps47@gmail.com    Do not hesitate to email me for this item.  So glad that it is not just me who is losing things!  Much appreciation for your self disclosure - that is - anyone willing to admit that they forget or lose stuff too!   Peg.

In the process of trying to contact classmates that were lost and we have no contact information for, I unfortunately discovered that one of the classmates had died.  His name is Kent Allen Stevens.  He died in April of this year.  I gave my condolescents to the family.  If you have any information regarding classmates who have not been found yet do not hesitiat to contact the website or any committee member.  Please use this forum to connect to one another.  Thanks,  peg

Dear classmates,  So grateful for the people who have been signing up on our website and especially to those of you planning to attend this reunion.  As the committee members know we are having another meeting Sunday 8/17/14 at 1:30PM and once again we are encouraging classmates in the Cleveland area to attend.  If you need directions - just call me at 440/655-7136.  Hope to see you next Sunday.  Thanks,  Peg

Thanx for your messages.  Very sad 2 hear about Kent.  Do u know what he died of?  How can I contact his family?

I'm in Boston, too far to go to attend your mtgs, but good luck!

I don't know how to find my password to open up  messages.  Any ideas who I can contact or how to create another password?

Best,

David Javitch.

David,

You mentioned hearing that Kent had passed away; what was his last name?  I think I remember him, but not sure.

In response to the previous messages on this forum.  I mentioned earlier that it was Kent Stevens that had passed away.  His wife answered the phone when I was trying to find him.  He was among the 25 or more people that we do not know where they are and unfortunately I found him.  He passed last April.  His wife did not tell me more as I felt sooo bad about calling to tell him about the reunion and that we did not know how to contact him.  I was just trying one of the numbers that I got through a search engine for his name and age.  I did not have the heart to inquire about the details of his death.  All I could do was apologize for calling.  Sooo sad.

I am sorry to hear of Kents passing. He was always friendly, kinda quiet. I remember he liked to dress sharp. He was into weight lifting. He came over to my place on Medford rd to shoot hoops a few times.

I remember Kent; I believe he was in my homeroom.  I also remember hearing that he was on a naval ship that picked up one of the Gemini(?) capsules after splashdown.  My condolences to his family.

I too am sorry to hear of Kent's passing. He lived down the street from me and we went to school together from kindergarten on. We both came back to the 20 year reunion and stayed with our mothers who both still lived there. One evening after the reunion, Kent, Ken Lukes and I got together and walked around the old neighborhood. I remember having such a great time with them...a nice memory.

Hi Peggy, Reunion Maven.

I finally contacted Embassy Suites on line and on the phone.  They said they had NO special rates for us, just the usual $129/nite.  Did u negotitate a better rate?

Hope all is well.  U r doing such a great job trying to organize this event.  Do u need some cash 2 cover expenses?  If so, tell me where to send it...pls use my email: djavitch@javitch.com.

I hope the years haven't taken away too much of your enthusiasm and warmth.

Best,

David Javitch

Hello Classmates,  Our next meeting will be Sunday Sept 21, 11AM.  All Clevelanders are welcome and if you are from out of town and in Cleveland please join us. Just to let you know what you have been missing (last month, Burt Zucker, Lenny Schwartz, Barb Steiglitz, Lynn Lippe, Karen Winsberg, Sharon Ungar, Donna Klein, Jan Held, Barb Marks and sorry if I forgot you - I think we may have had 11-12 of us) . Today we had Bob Davidson, Donna Klein, Jan Held, Sharon Sugarman, Barb Stieglitz & Roseann Comella-  each meeting has been more fun than the next and we have been getting a lot done.  If you have been receiving phone calls from committee members and extra helpers it is because this is the only way we know to get people interested  in coming.  So I hope you will take these efforts that we are making in a positive way - we do not intend to bother you - just to make sure you get the invitation and that you know about the website.  there are many committee members that have not been at some of the meetings that I really miss and hope they will be able to attend in the future.  Special thanks go out to Shari Balcher, the Bloomfields and other classmates who have been communicating with you on this website. Please keep it up.  It has really been helpful.  Any questions or concerns please connect with me on this forum or through the private message system at the top of each profile - left side (under the photo of the person, under the status of if they are coming or not).  this feature of our website is really helpful if you want to have your message kept private.  Thanks again, peg

Special thank yous go out to people from our class who have been helpful in contacting classmates: First I want to thank Penny Sugar for attempting to contact other Floridians to encourage them to attend the reunion and others across the country.  2nd: Renay Sherman Chesler for her willingness to attempt about 30 calls to help find lost classmates.  3rd Tracy Wunderlich Sheets for her efforts in finding more people than I expected and even convincing a few to actually come.  Finally Sharon Balcher who not only has been connecting with many classmates on this forum and on Facebook but has also agreed to connect with the classmates in California which is where she lives.

Good News:  Frontier Airlines is opening many direct flights to Cleveland from several major cities in the US.  Hope this will help make those traveling here easier and more affordable.

Several classmates have asked to donate funds to help make this reunion a success - which is so greatly appreciated.  One classmate had a great idea when we realized that the cost of attending the reunion was difficult for many of us - she simply said for us to write in this forum "Send a friend to the reunion - Donate Now".  So if you know of someone you would like to help assist in getting to this event please let us know and we will contact them on your behalf (if we have their contact info) or you can write or call them regarding your contribution.  We are looking forward to seeing everyone who wants to attend.

Peggy, and all others,

I have discovered that nobody wants to go 100%, but that many people want to know about certain questions and specific others. The only way you will know is by being there ( You can always hide behind a potted palm or come in a disguise on Friday night thus muting the exposure factor.) But one thing that many people I have contacted actually thought twice about was that this may be their last chance, last chance for a variety of things ( only YOU can determine what.)

Now that finances are not a factor there is nothing to fear but fear itself.( a nod to the Roosevelt kids) Nobody turned out to be exactly what, or who they thought they'd be, but everyone has lots of experiences they may share that will tug at your heart, or tickle your funny bone. Remember on Nov. 2 you can go home and sink into the comfort of anonymity but this is your only chance to get answers....cause ten years from now who knows. Sign up and come and spare me another call.

Thanks,

Penny Sugar

winkwell written, Penny ...

please, if you are able to come it will be a most incredible family reunion - but better because there will be no mishagus to deal with after you arrive home ...

"I can't believe s/he wore THAT ... what was s/he thinking???"

"That does it - s/he is definitely out of our WILL!!!"

Nu?  We're all friends and practically family - although in some cases, there were some inter-class marriages, and how cool is THAT???

So come, My Little Pretties:  2 days and one night of sharing, laughing, and  sweet reminiscence - and NETWORKING - for those who have new start-up businesses and might benefit from information, etc. from the rest of us.

Gonna be lots of hugs and warm handshakes going around ... smiles, and maybe some tears - of happiness.

Just say YES!!!!

Reunion Meeting Sunday 9/21/14 11AM:  I am sending this reminder because I do not have everyone's email address.  If you are in Cleveland and plan to help on Sunday please email or send me a message through this website forum or surprise us!.  We really need the people who helped at the last and the July meeting (and even the June meeting) because we need to know who you have already called so that we do not bug classmates any more than they have already been bothered.  Looking forward to seeing Clevelanders Sunday.  Thanks so much for your help!  Peg

Hi Peggy. Not sure if I will be at the next meeting. You've got a terrific group assisting, but I know that you can't have too much help!
I "batted 1000". I communicated with one classmate and she will be at the reunion. I understand that Candy Tomsick Downes is coming in from Florida.
Sincerely looking forward to seeing everyone...including those I have and haven't seen recently, those I haven't seen in four years, those I haven't seen in decades as well as the classmates I forgot existed (my yearbook has been MIA for years).
Thanks for all your hard work and effectiveness!!
Lenny S.

Just a reminder to classmates to get their checks in (we only have about 60 classmates that have paid).  we really need your checks in ASAP so that we know if we can afford to purchase a photo booth, video photography and other special features to make this weekend the best possible.  We greatly appreciate whatever you can do to help.  My deepest thanks to several classmates who have been sooooo generous with contributions.  There are some classmates that are not on the website but are planning to attend - so I guess if you are still undecided about whether you will attend that you will just have to show up to see who those surprise classmates will be!  This is likely to be our last reunion so please plan to attend.

Last reunion committee meeting is planned for Oct 12 at 11AM and if you have not been to meetings lately, you are missed.  We really need your help. There are some reunion committee members who need to show up for this one – you know who you are! Special thank you to Sharon Balcher in California and Penny Sugar in Florida for making phone calls to classmates in their states.  Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion. thanks, Peg

My boyfriend Howard, who already attended his 50th, says that this one is The Best:

10th: people are just starting careers, but they are basically pretty much the same.

20th: that's when everyone starts talking about their kids and wonderful jobs and how great everything is

30th: that's the one where half the couples are divorced; people are arrogant, and many are on the lookout for new partners: remember, those who come are doing well. He also said that that is when all the brunettes are blonde -- and he didn't even know me then.

40th: everyone is a little pompous: all they talk about are their golf games, where they've traveled, their beautiful homes, etc. etc.

50th: It's FUN again. We've seen it all. It's like we're back in high school. We are all successful because we're still alive. After all is said and done, that's the most important thing.
