Nancy & Iris:

Sorry I'm late in responding but I just read some of the messages on the web page. I'm arriving at 1:20 from Chicago and would be more than happy to give you guys a ride or anyone else who needs a ride to the hotel. Just let me know what your flight info. is and we'll coordinate a place to meet. I noticed Lenny has already responded but if it's easier for him if I take some people, I'd be happy to help. Look forward to seeing everyone

Eugene

Classmates,  I am so pleased with our huge response and attendance -  just a heads up for those planning to stay at the Embassy Suites.  Each night that you stay there you are eligible to complientary snacks and cocktails (beer, wine, beverages, etc)  in the Atrium located at the back of the hotel (near the pool) this is complimentary to guests nightly from 5:30PM to 7:30 PM.  Also you are entitled to a full  breakfast each morning (hot buffet which includes a large assortment of food).  All you need is your room key to show you are stayng there.

To David Javitch and others staying at Embassy Suites,  they are adjusting the King room rates to $119 for our classmates.  The double rooms will be $139.  This is the best price they could do for us.  Hope this helps.

Also - for those who like to work out, Lifetime Fitness Center and Spa (located in walking distance from Embassy Suites) informs us that if we have an appt in the spa (manicure, massage, hair cut, etc, we can use the facility for the day and they will give you a pass card key for that day.)  If you want more info on Lifetime go to their website and click on the Beachwood OH location.

Shari B Weiss,  You are asking if anyone is interested in a trip to the Rock & Roll hall of fame.  I have been in Cleveland since it began and have not seen it yet -  what day did you say you plan to go, I hope that I am free that day.  Thanks for suggesting this!

As I was remembering special memories at Heights, I thought of Clair McElfresh and how important he was to me and I am sure many others. I did not realize he passed away less than 1 year ago. Beautiful obituary. Looking forward to seeing many of you. Marty Mandel

Hi:

Just for your information regarding the rooms at the Embassy Suites. Senior rates are $122 regular, not sure why they gave us a higher rate to begin with.  I called today to inquire about rates was still given the $129 rate, but then given Senior rate, when I inquired.  Agent said you needed proof of age for senior rate, told her we are attending 50th yr hs reunion so we are of age.  wink

Anyway, Barry and I are looking forward to seeing lots of faces from the past.

Hi too All Oxford/Monticello girls students:

We are looking for pictures of our Brownie and Girl Scout days.

If you are still in possession of some and want to share, that would be great.

Also, If anyone has an extra YearBook I would love to have it.

Seems ours got lost in our last move

Shiela,

I have several 8x10s of a parade we participated in as troop 926.  As it happened, my brother, who grew up to be  the Cleveland Browns Photographer was practicing on us as he was growing up.    I posted one.   Did you want me to bring them to the reunion or email them to you?

So many thanks go out to all committee members and those who have jumped on board so generously with their help.  We have been so busy that we or I should say I have failed to organize lunches etc so people can meet up there also.  However, special thanks to Harry Wolfe  for organizing lunch get together for his elementary school (great idea) and kudos to his organizing skills!   smiley   That being said -  any Belvoir School or for that matter Wiley classmates that want to meet on Friday for brunch at the hotel or elsewhere please let me or committee members know (one year we did Corkey's back room).  Any other ideas are welcome!

We have stopped the phone calls to classmates to encourage them to attend but there are still several maybes and some just not willing to join the website.  At this point - as you may have noticed our attendance is fantastic.  We still would love to reach out further but only to those who may be undecided.  If you know someone who you would really  like to see or contact about the reunion - we have many phone numbers of those who have not joined the website.  We realize they are probably not going to come but a call from you may be all they need to encourage them.  Also we really need their contact info so that we can keep them on the website (which acts as our Memory book).  We hope to keep this site open after the reunion for several years - thanks to your generous contributions. So contact me if you feel inclined to call someone if just to get them to join this site (I may have their phone number).  My sincere thanks to all who have helped ,  peg

if you happen to have Bradley Briskey phone number I would love to contact him and say hello. My number is (310) 867-5950 and unfortunately at this time I may not be able to attend the reunion. Its a long and expensive flight from Los Angeles and I have been fighting a debilating case of Shingles which has made life miserable to say the least. sometimes a simple snease or cough feels like a hot knife into my rib cage. The thought of sitting in a hotel room on my birthday (Oct.31st)  and not being able to enjoy this event and the expense of travel, hotel, car reunion dinner adds up to about $1000. I am limited to what I can afford since I survive on a small Viet Nam Veterans pension and social security and so I will e their in spirit and chaos which would probably be the case if you all didnt have name tags on after 50  yeras people change dramatically. App the Best Wishes to you all !!!

Stanley Lake

Hi Steve-I had shingles about20 years ago...being a potter and having access to great quantities of clay(obvious) I spread a clay mixture (called slip) on the affected areas- my chest- put on a tshirt- and slept through the night...repeated the procedure for 2-3 days and nights...the clay dries up the sores-I was fine after 4 days.

Slip is just the clay mixed in water to make a slurry-consistency of yougurt.

I should add that this is a bit messy-the clay will dry and get flaky...so go outside and shake yourself off...before you take a shower or apply more clay

 Hope this helps- Stanley

Hi to all the classmates attending the reunion.  I SO wish I could attend, but unfortunately, it's impossible.  I'm asking anyone who'll listen to please take lots of photos (& maybe a video) that can be shared with those of us not in attendance.  It would help if the photos had names, too.  Please email me at ellenalonzo@comcast.net.  Thanks again, and I sincerely hope everyone has a simply marvelous time!  I'll be there in spirit -

Ellen Markovitz Alonzo
