The End Of The Line

Today, or early this morning (5 January 2014), I made an executive decision to cancel this site at the end of the subscription period, 29 January 2014.

The site has served its purpose well, and it is time to move on.  As it is, I believe interest in it is waning, I'm down to 66 or 67 ACTIVE emails/subscribers, dropping from 84 or 85 just last month.  The site automatically send out notices to all members periodically, of dead or dying email addresses as a reminder to all to update said addresses.  I don't think I've seen even one update in the last month.  So be it.

On 1 January 2014, I opened a page on Facebook to replace this site.  In case you missed it, or just haven't been paying attention, the name of the page is:

Class of 64 Cleveland MS High School

It is a 'closed' page, meaning that if anyone other than myself wants to add a member, I must approve it.  Why?  Because I made it for OUR CLASS and no one else.  Outsiders can most likely see the page, and may even be able to post, but I'm not positive about that.  It's a wait-and-see game, now.

I took the initiative to add whomever I could recall or whoever popped into my feeble mind at the git-go.  Not everyone wants to participate, anyway, so I have included one daughter and a few wives for the men who wish to remain anonymous, so that at least they can't say they didn't have access or weren't informed about events, such as the upcoming 50th Reunion.

I really appreciate all y'all's support in the past 4 years.  That means a lot to me.  As with this site, I did it solely for the Class of 64.  The thought crossed my mind to 'share' the responsibility of the upkeep of the site, but the thought quickly left as I think I'm about the only one with a lot of free time, like every day is a holiday when you're retired.

Okay.  If you didn't get Sandra's message on 8/9/13, here 'tis again:

Our 50th Reunion will be May 2 and 3, 2014, in Cleveland. Friday night (2) we'll gather at Fred's Sheds on Hwy 61 and will have barbecue.  Saturday night (3) we'll be at the Cleveland Country Club.  I'll send out details as they develop and include a form for registration.  Please mark your calendars for these dates and plan to join your classmates of 1964.  Thanks to Elizabeth Redd for working with venues in Cleveland to determine the best site for our gathering.  Please email me if you have any suggestions.

Bobby Ling Joe has mentioned a golf game.  If you have access to a course and can help to facilitate that, please let me know.
