OKOKOK! Just back from a Pelagic Birding Trip in Venice LA. Went out on the Cougar, Captian John Coulon, a CoonAss. Cool dude too, piloted out about six and a half hours then brought us back in one piece and no body got thrown overboard including me even though I am a ringer for walking the plank at option of the other guest. Right off he whizzed in right on time and did a 360 clock face like sitting on a dime, his 44' hull almost filling the spaces between the warf on other boats so I thiugh this guy can do it. I went for the photography, others went for the birds. Great palce Venice all the way down LA 23, on the east side is a levee that holds back about four or five feet higher Mississippi River crest and on the west is a levee that holds back about a thrity foot tidal surge when it Hurricanes. Local folks treat it like it is nothing and there are a lot of twenty thousand dollar houses with fifty thousand dollar boats in the yard and a pull behind rv loaded with food and other essentials in case they need to run north in a hurry. Great bunch of folks those coonasses. Thinking about it, at the foot of the slope at sea level and mddle tide I was dead level with about 70 percent of earths water and about a forth of all land on the planet. Holy Mackrel.

Now I got to get ready to go to work in the morning and already a hard week scheduled.

Lordy Lordy........

Jerry

Dear Santa,

Ok, this is how it's gonna go down. You know where I live, and you know what I want, so unless I get it on Christmas morning, Blitzen's next. One sleigh-puller at a time, I got eight more bullets.
Make it happen fat man.

I'm the luckiest guy in Mississippi even though I did not make it to the breakfast. I hate to miss this events. I am up to my eyes in things. Working on some salamanders with Tom Mann out of the Natchez Trace. Working on some photos too. Was headed to my offic ethis am when my truck gave out on the interstate. I was about 175 feet from being in the middle of the Pearl river bridge headed west when I got to the sid eof the raod and stopped in what was left of the last few feet of safe area before being out in heavy traffic. Whew! Now in my office, missed church too so not only is class things being not done, other things are also getting left out.

Just got an email with photo attachment of a Websteri slamander. The phot was slightly over-exposed and had a little too much flash but it showed most likely what otehr Websteri salmanders see since the see in dark and migh, jus tmight see im magnitue color and deminsion we can't come cloes to seeing with our yes accoustomed to light. Another WHEW!

Hopefully next time. I plan to go to Clarksdale to visit my Brother soon and hope to go by Ruleville to vist George Campbelll.

Love all of you..

Jerry

Hey Folks. Hope you are well and swell. Looks like we missed winter this year. Emailed a friend of mine here in Hinds County and he says since moving to where he now lives which is out off of Parks Road west of Jackson and keeping a 15-year journal he has recorded a 5-day faster blooming in his flowering shrubs, that is they are blooming about 5-days earlier on average most every year he currently compares. He also says mosquitoes do not go in anymore for cold weather and that ticks are on animals killed in hunts throughout December. I was predicting a cold winter this year, but heck no, it won't snow. Hopefully leafings and blooms will be mature enough that the cold snap we usually get right before Easter doesn't turn them brown and they fall off the shoots. Would hate to loose the peach and plum crop this year.

All is well with me. Found out I got a raise with Social Security but got to wait another 4-years to collect. Medicare is doing a pretty good job of paying for my wellness exams. Really love my toes doctor, she's real skinny and cute as a button. Great conversations with my urologist, he and I go to the same church First Baptist Jackson. missed the past two Sundays though. However we are sort of devided there, the preacher quite, several other members also so you know me, I got to stick my nose in to figure out what is what. Might get it snapped off up to the hole right between my eyes if I'm not careful. Yikes!!!!

As for Facebook more hackers get in from that than most any other way, because they are freinded and invited and a lot of them you do not know but they claim to be a friend of a friend of a friend. My advise, don't bank online if you facebook online in the same computer or one that is in a network. Mostly don't store in your computer anything worth keeping they can get to becuase they figure out a way to.get to it if at all possible. Most of the time all they do is screw up the configurations so tha tyou got to get some professional help to correct what they messed up.

You can tell I'm sort of old fashioned when it comes to high technology but I'm pretty modern when it comes to camping, canoeing and getting outdoors. It's easier to walk and shake snakes off my boots than to get out of my easy chair.

The most handy thing you can have is a pocket notebook and pencil to keep up with stuff.

Love All of you

Jerry L. Litton

Hi Classmates,

I just wanted to wish you all a very Happy New Year!  I pray that 2013 will be one of your very best years ever.

Personally,I am looking forward to feeling a bit better in 2013 as I have struggled with a "high then low" thyroid for most all of 2012. Thyroid problems I have learned,  can make you feel pretty bad!!!.  We think the meds are correct now however, and all should be better soon.

I am looking forward to our next reunion!

Take care, Kay

Kent, keep the site going.  I can pay more than $2.00 a year.  How much does it take to keep the site

going.  I will pay my share.  Thanks again Kent for what you have done!

Bobby

I agree with Bobby!  I would be willing to pay more to keep it going, but if you are ready to give it up, that is your choice.

I also agree with Bobby and the rest of you. I think I thought our class website was budgeted thru the class finance.  But I know we do not have too much there.  Maybe enough for our 50th reunion extras.

maybe we could do a cookbook or something else to make extra money for our class "till".

Carole smiley

Kent,I know maintaining this website is no easy task...so everyone understands that and appreciates everything u have done for so long.

Is there a golfer in the group?  If so, let me know if you want to play a round during our 50th reunion.

Bobby, maybe if posted on the class facebook page you could get some responses, or have Kent post it for you if you are not on facebook.  I don't know who golfs and who doesn't, but there has to be someone that knows...

When I visit my brother and his family, there are always tournaments going on at the CCC; we usually stop by the CCC to get something to eat or order takeout or have a drink at the bar; he lives right around the corner from Julian, on Frederick Drive, you can see part of the golf course from my brother's backyard. I would think you could call someone at the CCC to see if a tee time is available; if it is set it up; you can always cancel.

I don't golf anymore, but my husband does, BUT he is not coming to my reunion.  I am carpooling with Nelda Purvis Little and Virginia Wong (and maybe Donna Diceasie Peeples(mispelled), not sure if she is going yet!

Your Houston Connection, Carolesmiley
