In Memory

Edwin Scott

Edwin Scott

At our reunion planning meeting on December 8, 2010, Sharon Bellamy Kraus let us know that she had just heard from Jo Ann Rossiter that her husband Ed Scott had died suddenly from a heart attack.  Both Jo Ann and Ed had joined our website in November and we were all hoping they would attend the reunion.  How very sad to lose Ed, especially when we were all so close to seeing him again.  Jo Ann is in our thoughts and prayers.

The one memory that really stands out for me with Ed was the year he and I had a typing class with Mrs. Carpenter.  The last two typewriters in the back of the room near the door had letters and numbers on the keypads.  He saved one for me and one for himself.  I was overjoyed!  We had a riot back there and, of course, Mrs. Carpenter was up to all of our craziness!  Ed could really type fast and with great accuracy.  I, on the other hand, never really learned the key board; stayed over the split lunch to finish work with Ed and one of his buddies sneaking lunch food up to me.

Ed had a wonderful sense of humor and was always up to way too many tricks. I am still not good at typing, but had the pleasure of really getting to know Ed and his wonderful sense of humor through that class.
