HI Lisa,
Wanted to tell you that my son will be training in your state for the month of June. He will be in Yuma, they just posted a heat advisory there. It says it will be 109 or something like that. That is hot!! There is a Marine Air Base there, don't know what the name is. He doesn't tell me everything, do you know?

I am wondering if maybe we all should visit Greg out in aloha land, they had the high school reunion show out there I think, didn't they?? Wouldn't that be fun!! At least for us back in rainy wet NJ!!

Greg Marion

It rained here last week for way over an hour.

Greg,
Is close to an hour of rain in Hawaii equivilent to let's say...a 36" snow fall in NY?

I am feeling very badly for you..and did it wreck your sand castle?

My younger sister and her family were stationed in Hawaii for three years and this dorkmeister never made it out to visit and check the place out.

Have a good day.

Liz.... Thanks for the info! I took a look at their website and the work is fabulous! On another note, I bumped into your brother one day up at Lowes. He looked the EXACT same (so do you, by the way!!!)! It was when you were pregnant with your little girl.

Greg Marion is a WISEGUY!!! :o)

Hi Cheggy,

I totally agree with you that the reunion should be in Hawaii. Have been wanting to get back there since I haven't been since 1986.

How are your boys doing? I understand they are both in the service.

Ohh Greg....I am sorry it rained for an hour..its been raining here all day!! Hope to see the sun soon:)
We went to Hawaii this past summer, only for two days. But the funny thing about it was both my husband and I got bad sunburn, on our feet no less!! What a beautiful place, the short sweet time we had was great! You are soo lucky to experience that everyday!!

Hi Maureen....yes, both of my boys are in the service, one in the Army Reserve, on in the Marines. Matt, my oldest was deployed to Iraq this April. He is doing well and I get calls from him once a week so far, thats fine by me!! My other son Dan, is being deployed in late Aug. early Sept. They( the Military) don't let you know till the last minute. Its been an emotional rollercoaster these past months. But I know they will be fine, I keep telling myself that!! Keep them in your prayers and thoughts, if you don't mind!! How are things with you? My brother said he saw you some time ago, sorry I didn't get back to you. He came to my house and made sure he told me...Hope to see you and everyone at the reunion. I just can't believe its been so long. I don't feel like I am that old, but time has a way of catching up to you.
See you all soon....

Hi Joann,
Yuma,Az. in June... kinda like baking yourself in an oven every day. Tell'em to drink a lot of water. Your "boys" are brave men JoAnn. Tell them I said so.
Stay well. Talk to you again soon.
ps Where's Ms. Heinl????

Hi Bill Casey,

What great pictures of your family. I think we may have to introduce your daughter to my son, she is quite beautiful; and your youngest daughter looks exactly like you. Great picture of you and the YAK!!!! :-)

I'm sure that Napierville is not a small little town like Boonton Township but my cousin has lived in Napierville for quite some time.

I cant stop laughing! Have a great weekend! The sun is out her-feels more like Fall, than Spring, but hey! Ill take the sun with whatever else it gives us. Yes, it has been raining for 2 weeks now? Hawaii sounds too good to be true. Maybe next year we can all plan a party at Gregs house. Aloha!

Hey you guys!!!
This my first time in the message forum and I'm laughing my ass off...
How do you remember all that stuff from school? I can't remember what I ate for lunch.
Seriously, this is such a blast to read your posts. It seems like it was just yesterday; it can't possibly be 30 years.
And here are a couple of responses:

Was "Moonshoes" Sister Stanislaus? I can't remember, but I can picture the shoes clear as day.

This one is for Elmer:
Did you study under Joseph Campell? I saw you mention him. If you did, you are one lucky, enlightened guy. I teach his myth quest when we study Huck Finn.

Kathy Gallager:
I know why Jim Rampone didn't have a girl in the Homecoming Picture. I was his date, and went up to the school to go to the bathroom up in the school after homecoming. They took the pictures while I was occupado in the loo. Oh and another thing about homecoming: after the game, we went out to dinner at the Governor Morris in Morristown. Jimmy was driving about 250 mph on Rt. 80 (a slight exxageration but he was flying nonetheless) and was racing someone else from our group. I was scared to death and thought I was going to die. Kathy, how is Pat doing? Tell him I said hi. How's his mom?

John Byrne:
I seem to remember a wild party at your house. Was it before the prom?

Jimmy Rampone:
Do you still see the Bollers? How are they doing? Tell them I said hi if you see them.

Anyone hear from Sean Mulholland? There was lots of parties at his house.

Okay, and now I have a little bit of news I would like to share:
My husband Ray, the guitarist, recently got a new gig.
Does anyone remember Jay and the Americans? They had lots of hits, including "This Magic Moment", "Cara Mia", "Come a Little Bit Closer" among many others. They are still together and tour all over the country and in Canada. So after several stressful auditions out on Long Island, he is their new lead guitarist!!! The original singers are still together. He is on his way to Vegas right now! He will be touring all over the place. How weird is that? Go figure. Well...I always wanted to be a groupie, so I guess now's my chance. Somehow, I always thought it was going to be for Bruce Springsteen, though!

Anyway, here I go, long winded as usual.
I'll shut up now.
And guys, I'll never tell who I had crushes on when we were in school
Love you all,
Marianne

P.S. I still can't figure how to put pictures up on my profile. Can anyone help an technologically challenged idiot?

Marianne Scerbo (Longchamp)

Oh my God, I just went back to the beginning of the forum and read more of the posts. This is hysterical.
Miss LeDonne had the biggest hair I've ever seen.
And there was a rumor going around that she was dating Mr. Sullivan, the English teacher. He used to open his briefcase between classes and have a cigarette. There was an ashtray in his briefcase.
I loved Mr. Piro - does anyone know what he's up to nowadays? He was an inspirational teacher, as well as a really funny guy. I saw him on a VH1 special about "Rocky Horror" - he's been president of their fan club forever.
I remember Mrs. Herbst - she was another teacher I loved. Do you remember Doc V.? I had him for a really hard class senior year. He used to play records of a band he used to be in.
And yes, Dean DiGiacomo is pretty hot looking! His whole family looks like they belong in a fashion magazine. Must be the California lifestyle!

Hey Marianne,

Pretty awesome about your husband. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Just give me a call (# on profile) and I'll walk you through the picture upload.

I see Dad every once in a while and always ask about you. My husband has breakfast with him at the Plaza Restaurant in Boonton quite often.

Just got round to checking the message forum...

Bill,

I haven't been using my yearbooks (I lost them years ago when I moved back to NJ from Florida). One of my brothers says that I'm always good at a party for useless trivia that the rest of my siblings can't remember. They usually accuse me of making it all up.

Marianne,

I didn't meet Professor Campell; however, I did hear him give a talk at New York University and agreed (and still agree) that "following your bliss" is good advice, I'm just not certain that I ever took his advice.

At any rate, that class you are teaching must be interesting. I'm certain that some of your insights are attributable to the teachers we had at Morris Catholic. At Morris Catholic we still lived in the world of myth (not myth in a pejoritive sense). I think that your students will be heirs to a different mythic consciousness--one in which the internet is somehow perceived as the societal corrolary to the inherent interconnectedness of the cosmos.

By the way, Sister Stanislaus taught Spanish; "Moonshoes" was a Latin teacher (banished to the library in the aftermath of Vatican II). Poor Moonshoes, all alone in the library, I wish I could have studied Virgil under her. I do, however, remember studying Beetle's lyrics under Mr. Sullivan. I thought he was partial to the young English teacher who taught us how to write Haikus. Although I will say that as a male adolescent, it was sometimes difficult not to stare at Miss LaDonne. In the end, we all know, she used her charms to entice Fr. Conti from the contemplation of things eternal to the contemplation of things carnal (this has all the makings of a reality show).

Also, I saw in your profile that you study yoga. I've been practicing for a number of years. In fact, I'm leaving right now for a Bikhram class (105 degrees for 90 minutes).

My best to everyone...

Elmer

Myrtle-

Carol lives on the "other side of the River Stix bridge" from us. You've heard about THOSE people ..... ; )

Elmer,
I doubt that you are wrong , but in my failing memory, I am somehow recalling that Sr. Stanislaus taught German. I can't be sure but... Once she asked me if I had ever considered joining the convent. After that, I avoided her like the plague. Too bad 'cause I would have made a great nun.:)JOKING JOKING.
I am so bad at remembering things! Truthfully, the picture of MCHS on this web site doesn't even look familiar to me. I thought the school was red brick???? Maybe because we always went in from the back..or maybe all these years in the Arizona desert have scorched my brain. Stay well.
Lisa

hopatcong..... you too Liz?? damn, we'll have to meet for a playdate with the girls! we can always meet at the Hopatcong State Park and spend the time hopping all the geese poop OR there's always MOdick park.. Nothing like a playground on a hill!!

and what DO they say??? we're closer to the catholic church??? :o) I am right over the River Styx Bridge Marygrace and you are always welcome to stop by!

speaking of church, i do have a confession (whaaat??) i've already confided to my friend Lisa Coppola but since you're all starting to crop up around my town...... OKAY!!! I did see someone & not talk to him. I was at 10 West in Succasunna getting the car serviced or something. There was a guy that works there that looked really familiar. When I went up to pay, I saw the certification on the wall for Steve Bourdette!!! he looked the exact same but my friggin memory just failed me!! I'll make it a point to stop & tell him about the reunion since i don't see him signed in yet. SHOO!! I feel better now!!

Carol -

Myrtle and I live over by the highschool. My daughter Madison is a freshman and she has been bringing home all kinds of kids since school started and one day brought home this kid with the BEST personality and charisma, easygoing and full of fun, with a twist of sarcasm, which I love, and lo and behold it turned out to by Myrtle's son Ryan! What a GREAT kid!

I actually lived on Marne Road in the early 90's, so I know exactly where you are!

Hi Everyone,
This is too funny! I just ran into Sr. Stanislaus about a month ago. My bosses sister had a piano concert in Morristown to benefit Lithuanian children. She was there! I had my pic taken with her, I will scan it and put it on my profile so you can see her. She taught French and was the big wig for uniform codes. Don't you remember her coming in homeroom and making sure our skirts were an inch above the knee!! As we rolled down our skirts before she could see....at least thats what I remember. As Mary Ann says " I can't remember what I had for lunch" and its true!!
Hope you all are doing well.....its nice to read all the conversations...funny...thanks for giving me a smile:) on my face!!

05/25/08 07:12 PM #83

JoAnn Chegwidden (Rosica)

Sorry, Its me again. Look at my new pics I put up! They are of Sr. Stanislaus and the other one is of some of our classmates. I shouldn't have put anyones names down, that way you could try and figure out who was who, darn...oh well...too late..
