Lisa and Tom,
I got your Christmas cards as well; thanks so much. Hope everyone is enjoying the day so far. Thanks for the dig Greg about having to mow your lawn; we've been shoveling snow and ice. I think mowing the lawn sounds much better especially if I could be getting a tan at the same time.

HI everyone,
Merry Christmas!! and a Happy New Year!! I have a huge announcement to make.....are you ready???
My son Matthew surprised us all and came home on Christmas Eve!! What a shock that was!! Only my brother knew, he picked him up from his base in Pa. He walked through my brother Mike's door(the whole family was there for Christmas Eve) and gave everyone a big surprise!! It's great to have him home and he is doing well, thank goodness.

Kevin B. great to see you put a pic up!! You're looking very well too!

I sure hope everyone had a wonderful day with family and friends around them. I thank you all for being the wonderful friends you are to me. Thanks for all the support and for all your prayers. One of my two is home, my other son Dan is doing well also. He called on Christmas day and got to talk to his brother, whom he hasn't spoken with in a year. It was a fine day for all.

Here's hoping you all have a Healthy and Happy New Year!!

Thanks Lisa and Bez....it sure is great, even though he is not home much, seeing all his friends. I keep on wanting to feed him!! I better back off a bit, I might be getting on his nerves..lol!!

Soo, Greg...the weather here in Jersey today was a balmy 60 or something. Only had a sweatshirt on today. How was it in your neck of the islands??? I think tomorrow will be changing, back in the 30's, so we will enjoy it today!!

Hope everyone is doing ok!!

Hi Everyone! Just put a greeting on our home page. It has been so long and I have been working till 3, 4 and 5-6 every morning for over a month. Exhaustion doesn’t nearly describe my current state of mind and bod, however you are all in my thoughts and I am thrilled to read your news! Jo-what a great surprise! Is he still home? Thanks for your card, and Lisa, and Tom. As I said under Stefano’s painting, I am just finishing up the cards and hope to mail some out. Trying to get that perfect family pic was not easy, so we’ll see. I didn’t feel like putting in multi-pictures this year. Thought it should be simple-kind of how I am feeling right now. Simple. I did love your pictures though, and Lisa-? no pictures from Sven?

Anyway-Kevin, didn’t realize that your birthday was 12/26? Cool!? Happy, Happy! I bet it was fun with Maureen. Give her a hug from me. Somehow, as many times as I tried to contact her, and spoke to her mom and dad, she never called. I have a complex-maybe she doesn’t like me... I guess it isn’t the first person...

Love to you all. and Noreen, I hope your town is up and running now! We lost power for 3 days in November? It was humbling.

Anyone ever take a test for a CDL license? Maureen, how is Michael doing? I have to take mine, but I don’t know if I am ready. I have to finish studying Chapt. 10. It has been hard to find the time.

and Maureen, I did not get the chance to follow thru with your book thing yet. Is there still time???

Love you all!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Any good plans happening?

Cheryl

Hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday and Happy New Year! JoAnn - I'm so thrilled for you that your son came home for Christmas. What a wonderful present that had to be. My parents were by themselves on Christmas Day for the first time ever since having children (we didn't get there until 12/26). My mom had such a hard time being without family on Christmas Day so there's something to say about being with your loved ones on holidays, especially Christmas.

Cheryl- your card is beautiful! Stefano did a magnificent job! Thank you for the news about MCHS's coach which I will share with my brother. He followed the girls' basketball team and has said some marvelous things about their coach. What a huge loss for MCHS and his family.

My friend Maria lost her husband a year ago to cancer, and now she has just been in a horrific car accident with her 2 girls. Abby, her youngest broke her pelvis in 2 places. Maria and Hannah were briefly hospitalized and are recovering at home. Please keep them all in your prayers!

Bez- I am interested in the book club too- is it too late? I hope I can find it, it is buried here somewhere.

Greg- there wasn't any grass showing in Michigan when I was there, just grey snow! I'm certain my dad would rather be mowing the lawn right now!

Best wishes for a fabulous 2009 everyone!

Debbie

Hi Debbie,
Wanted to say thank you for always keeping my boys in your thoughts and prayers. Matt did go to North Carolina for 3 days before coming home. I did not know this, but that would have been neat if they had gone thru Atlanta. He is home now and all is well. I will definitely keep your friend and children in my prayers as well. My gosh, how much can a person take?

It is so nice to know you have friends all around the world keeping you in their thoughts. I wanted to say thanks once again to all my MC friends, for caring and just being the good people you are!! I am soo blessed!
Happy New Year!!

Hi All,
WEll Happy New Year to all of you. JoAnn I'm so glad your son was able to come home. I can't even imagine the surprise for your family. That certainly was the best gift ever.
Went to VT for several days after Christmas. We had snow up there. My son went skiing on the Saturday after Christmas and he said the Mountain was empty. Pretty unusual for that week but the were predicting rain that day so I think it keep people away. The rest of us X-countried instead. Our neighbors told us it was -5 the other day and it only rose to 5 above. How does that sound Greg? Pretty glad your in Hawaii.
Wishing you all A new year filled with love, peace. and laughter.

thanks Margaret...was a great surprise. My niece went up to Vermont this past weekend. My son can't wait to go. He might be going up there to see his friend from h/s. He has been waiting to snowboard. I will find out where he will be going. Glad you had a good time. I can't believe the weekend is almost over.

Have fun!!

Back from Atlanta...it was freezing!!!
I'm so glad I live in Florida!
Had a great time with Maureen & Mary Beth doing NYE & shopping for furniture for their new place.
Maur says "hi" to you all.

I wish everyone a healthy, joyous and peaceful year ahead and make it all that you want it to be! Kevin

Kevin-
YIKES! I totally lost sight of the fact you were in town due to I was in freezing cold Michigan for a week. Now thats cold weather - never got above 32 degrees. Yesterday it was 70 degrees here in Peachtree City and today was balmy too. I guess your 10 degree warmer weather makes a difference! I'm sorry we couldn't hook up- please let me know when you'll be back again. Where in Atlanta is Maureen? My sister lives in the Howell Mill Area right by Georgia Tech. Did you get to Ikea? Love that store! Atlanta Station is kind of neat too, but I hate that the sales tax there is 7%.

Cheryl-
How on earth do you keep the hours that you keep? We've been painting and cleaning our rental property for 4 days and I am so bushed, I can't think! Whats your secret???

Where is everyone????

Lisa-
My girlfriend just got back from Christmas in Sedona. How jealous am I???? Don't be surprised if i hop on a plane and head your way one of these days and pop in a you on my way to Sedona!

Just curious - does anyone watch Wifeswap? How awful is that show?! My girls watch it and I'm about to ban it!

01/05/09 07:21 PM #1196

Lisa Coppola

Hi Deb, I just spent a day in Sedona myself. Not a bad place to spend a few days...When you come, make sure your pockets are loaded with cash...and bring your camera. There are so many beautiful sites there.
Now, I'm gonna say something you might be surprised by...I love that wife swap show. I don't watch it regularly, but I think it is hilarious and disturbing and thought provoking all at the same time. By the way, there is,or was, another show on that was very similar and truthfully, I don't know which one I watched but the premise is the same. I vote let the girls watch it but watch with them....and let your husband watch too!!!!!....and then go on the dang show and snag $50,000 dollars for your family...if I was married , I'd do it.
Happy New year Deb..and to everyone else too!

Anyone making any New year's resolutions? Mine is to join the 21st century and get on with the online banking which I have been procrastinating about for so long.
xoxo Lisa

Bez, I finally sent a book out and have two friends who will continue the letter. I'm trying to keep it going but you know how people react to anything of the "chain mail" variety. I hope your friend will like the book I sent!

Lisa-
Oh that's hilarious! And you know the funny part is.....they wanted to send in my name to swap me! And they claim its a compliment, that I would set some family straight! HA! I should send it in and win the 50K! And let my family suffer with some crazy woman that doesn't care about their family's needs. I don't like them watching it because they see what other kids are allowed to do and some of it is out of control.......... for example: surfing the net until 5am! This is the part I don't like. Anyhow, would be interesting if I submitted my family. Don't laugh when you see me on the show now!

Bez-
Can't find my letter!!!!! Can you send me another one, or Lisa, can you fax me yours??? So sorry, it slipped in the big black whole in my house. Guess my family needs a new "wife"!

Kevin-
Yes- your blood has definitely thinned out! GOod thing you weren't in Michigan! Our winters here in Georgia average a high of 53 and a low of 30 and very rarely do we have any snow. Its a short winter at least, with the lawn greening up again in March. The past few days have been quite warm, but now its cold again. I don't mind these temperatures, any colder and I'd freak like you! Stay toasty and send some balmy air north please!

01/08/09 08:31 AM #1201

Maureen Bezold (Como)

Kev, please send some balmy air wayyyyyyyyyy north. The ice storm we had yesterday was quite dangerous. I was the big baby and had my husband drive me to work - was too afraid to risk going down my driveway, across Oak Road and into my neighbor's property, specifically, his car.

Good morning all,

Well my Son received his acceptance to Red Bank Catholic, I received his first tuition bill $10,400 for the year. I think I had the same reaction my parents had......

I am Happy he made it.

So any plans for the New Years whats the big resolutions out there?

Tom

01/10/09 10:12 AM #1203

Deborah Kozak (Martin)

Tom-
Is Red Bank Catholic a high school? Yikes! Private hHigh school tuition has really skyrocketed hasn't it? It will probably only get worse with the economy the way it is. They are talking about massive layoffs here in our school county, one inparticular is our band director that we love. Parents are even talking about possibly having the boosters fund his salary, which means our fees will only go up again. It just doesn't end does it?! Anyway, congratulations to you, it will be well worth the investment!

Bez-
I would have done the same thing had there been an ice storm. I had to drive on a muddy diry road the other day and considered having Don take me in his truck rather than risk messing my car up, But I braved the dirt, and most importantly missed the major potholes.

We need warmer weather here too! The next week is only supposed to get up to around 50 degrees which is just a little cold for me.

RESOLUTION TIME! Wow thats the first time I have heard anyone bring it up this year. I want to spend more time with my family and friends because they are what really matter in life and life is too short! And of course, do we dare mention the weight resolution??? :}

Anybody feeling my hot air up there???

Peace/Kevin

01/16/09 11:34 AM #1206

Maureen Bezold (Como)

Not yet Kev. My computer is saying a frigid 13 degrees!

Tom, the Christmas tree came down this week but the decorations are still laying all over my living room floor, and, of course, nothing has been taken down outside. I might as well leave everything up outside for Christmas 2009. Resolutions, I'll have to get back to you and Deb on that one.

01/16/09 12:25 PM #1207

Lisa Coppola

Hi all
You'll be proud of me...I have one done on the New Year's resolution list which was to get online with my banking. You know, I wanted to have quicker access to my millions! Okay, next resolution is to walk home from work at least once a week if not twice. I live about 2 miles from the hospital so there's no excuse!
So sorry you're all so cold...it's gonna be a gorgeous 70+ degree day here...wish you could all drop by!
Stay warm, Lisa

Hi all,
13 degrees? That's a heat wave! This morning I had to go to Dunkn Donuts and it was a minus 22 without the windchill. All of the school districts have been closed for the last couple of days because of the cold. I miss my golf game. Deb, meet me at Augasta to play a round.
See you after my hibernation.
