Bucky-
Just name the date and I'm there! But we may want to move it alittle f urther south.

It was cold here too but the worst seems to be over. Thank goodness! Last night, on the coldest night since we've moved here I got the dreaded phonecall at 11:30pm from my oldest daughter Christina......she was on her way in someone else's car and the boy who was driving hit another car. YEP! So here I am in my jammies, having to barrel out of my house and travel 4 miles to the crash site while my hubby snoozed away in our warm bed and stayed home with Sarah who had a swim meet in the morning. It was horrible. To sum everything up, I am thankful no one was seriously hurt given the gravity of the situation. My daughter and her friend had just stopped at a stop sign, started to go thru when suddenly there was a car that hit them, broadsided the passenger side right where Christina sat. Their truck was totaled and the guy that hit them ended up in a ditch. When my daughter called me, all I could hear was "Carl hit a car" and sirens. They were literally 30 feet from a fire station. 4 hours later, 1 cat scan later, my daughter is alive with only minor head injuries. We still don't know the condition of the other driver, he was conscious at the time. So. now moral of my story, stick to your guns parents of teenagers. Carl had 2 tickets on his record and when Christina said he'd be taking them home, I should have said no. But she's 2 months from turning 18 and at some point needs to make her own decisions so I left it up to her. Thankfully, they were all spared.

New Years Resolution- keep my daughters safe!

Hope and pray that everyone and their families stay safe and warm this winter. Spring will be here soon.

Hi all
Deb,as a guy who has had many, many, many tickets,( none to be my fault by the way) the young man who was driving your daughter does'nt seem to be the one at fault so give him a break but keep him on a short leash if you know what I mean. I'm glad your daughter is o.k. I bet your daughter will feel better before you will. Just remind her that teenagers are not indestructable and parents will always be nervous wrecks. MY son takes behind the wheel this semester and already I'm losing sleep over it.
Mary Anne, glad to hear from you!

Hey Buck! MISS YOU!!! .... I've came out of hybernation just for a moment to see if I have been missing anything on the board.

Welcome Mary Ellen! I am so sorry that I couldn't find you in time to make the reunion, but we have been and WILL continue to be getting together quite often in the months ahead and usually post info about these little get togethers on the home page, which is strangely BLANK at the moment! Is Bez currently hybernating as well? lol!

So keep checking back and maybe you can hit a gathering in the near future!

Cripes, I feel like I'm living in Colorado or something! It's been snowing on and off since Friday. It IS real perty, but enough with the cold already!! :P

Bucky-
Thanks for your kind words! Yes- you are right about Carl, and believe me, we're giving him a break because he is really a mess about this whole accident. (The word is he will be losing his license.) We went thru that intersection last night when it was dark, and saw how it could have easily. The angle of the intersecting roads makes it difficult to see oncoming cars. We are just so thankful the kids are all okay and hopefully the other driver is okay. Life is full of lessons isn't it?

My mother who is in Michigan told me they feel like eskimos up there right now. Hopefully alot of this snow and cold weather will begin to disperse for y'all!

I was getting my oldest son ready for his sophomore dance last week which lead me to start thinking about my sophomore dance and MCHS and then I thought "Mmmm, shouldn't we be having a 30yr reunion soon?" So, I went onto the website and found this which is fantastic but also found I missed the reunion and that i was altogher missing! Here I was just across the river in Brooklyn the whole time. I am so sorry I missed the big event but am hoping i can see some of you soon. I am going to visit NJ next month to say good-bye to my old school St. Christophers in Parsippany which is closing in June. Maybe if i work on my organizational skills i can figure out a way to see some of you. Meet me in a bar somewhere? What was the name of that place in Denville that was where we all thought we could go to drink under age? Please tell me i am not the only one who did that?

Hi All,
Deb glad to hear your daughter is ok. It's scary being a parent. Especially when you watch them doing things you did. Yikes!!.
Just got back from VT. IT was cold up there -12 some mornings warming up to 5. Went CRoss Counrty in the cold and it was fantastic. IT actually went up to twenty and it felt balmy. It's amazing what your body gets used to.
Mary Ann.
So sorry you were so close, and weren't found. Glad to hear from you.
Great games this weekend. So sorry for you Eagles fans. It was a great game.
Bucky, Tom , any thought on the cardinals or steelers. I wouldn't mind seeing Kurt Warner with a super bowl Ring.
Keep the faith.
Elmer I know your out there. I miss you.
Margaret

Tom, I think it was the Chinese Restaurant on the corner. I can't remember the name.

Hi All,
Seems clear to me now that I must be the only one in the whole class that never did the Hoover's thing.
Okay Buck, can you believe the Arizona Cardinals in the big game?...and they nearly gave it away. I do have a friend who seems to get tickets to any event under the sun...her husband is a liquor distributor and little did we all know that that is actually the profession of choice. I can hardly believe what he rakes in and the perks seem endless. These two never pay for anything! Also, apparently, anyone will do most anything for a good bottle of wine. I'll ask her about tickets but you gotta know that if I somehow land a pair, Sven would have my head on a platter if I gave them away...but you are my strong second choice Buck!
ps I don't think the Cardinals can beat the Steelers.....ssssshhhh, I don't want anyone around here hear me say that.
Hi Margaret, Hi Tom, Hi Liz, Hi Deb, Hi MaryAnn....How do we get everyone else back on???
xoxo Lisa

Lisa'
It's o.k. you don't have to go, me and Sven can go and we could bring you back a T-shirt. I hate the Steelers and I'll be cheering for the Cards.
Your favorite,
Buck

JoAnn,

I saw in the Neighbor News that your son Matthew was there for the local political swearing in ceremony for your brother, Bill. That was nice. It must be good to still have him home.

I couldn't resist posting. ENJOY!!!! Bez

Quick Check for Alzheimer's

The following was developed as a mental age assessment
by the School of Psychiatry at Harvard University.
Take your time and see if you can read each line aloud without a mistake.

The average person over 40 years of age cannot do it!

1. This is this cat.
2. This is is cat.
3. This is how cat.
4. This is to cat.
5. This is keep cat.
6. This is an cat.
7. This is old cat.
8. This is fart cat.
9. This is busy cat.
10. This is for cat.
11. This is forty cat.
12. This is seconds cat.

Now go back and read the third word in each line from the top down.

I betcha' cannot resist passing it on.

01/20/09 04:16 PM #1225

Deborah Kozak (Martin)

Bez-
Good one! And I thought this was going to be something warm and fuzzy about cats! My cat died 2 years ago and I still miss him, haven't replaced him yet.

Lisa,
I am thrilled for you Lisa that the Cards got in although they trashed the Atlanta Falcons to get there who were on the road to recovery from Mike Vick's dog fighting fiasco. HOWEVER! I was born in Philly and was bummed that once again my team got their butts kicked. So, for some reason, I too dislike the Steelers, so I am rooting for AZ because I love the state of AZ and you too! So, better watch out, I can just see Bucky and Sven warming those seats at the Superbowl. Better try to get 4 tickets!

Margaret,
Where in VT did you go? My nephew is living in VT and can't seem to find a job. Can't believe that with all the snow he can't get a job at a ski resort of some sort. And thanks for the kind words for my daughter, she is physically healing, but mentally has some issues. Doesn't want to be in her car, period. So now we're thinking of getting her a truck. The truck she was travelling in that was hit was a Ford 4 door F150, and you don't get much bigger than that! So we're really unsure on which road to go down, or should we just give her some time to get back in her groove.

Hi Everyone,
Wow, I can't believe Mary Anne M. has been found, or she found this site!! Yea for that. We sure missed her at the reunion.
Deb,
Oh my gosh, you must be a nervous wreck everytime she goes out. Steph is 16 and she doesn't want to drive at all, she only has her permit yet. I sure hope she will be ok and gets right back into the swing of things. She can't be afraid, but I know thats on her mind and yours. How did you get to the site without thinking the worse. I am glad she is healing and I pray all is well.

How is the weather in AZ Lisa?? Hot and humid?? We all want you to send some our way down in N.J. Could you do that?? Please!!

HOpe everyone is doing ok. Oh thanks Hope, I did see it and was there. What a great honor for Matt to swear his uncle in. He was really nervous but was very proud to do it. We told him it was his best side, his back!! The paper in the Dover area had a picture of Matt and my brother on it.

Talk with you all soon!!

Deb,

Glad your Daughter is ok after Accident, that is the important thing. she will come around on her own to driving again, after my accidents I wanted a Hummer/Suburban even though I was only one who usually used my car. I figured the next idiot that hit me at least I would drive away.

Lisa & Margaret, I want Arizona to win because it is the first time for the Cardinals to play in the Super Bowl. theere are 5 other teams who never played in the super bowl, I can name 4 can anyone top that?

Tom

Detroit should be right at the top of the list too. What a pathetic season they had!

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words for my daughter. She is riding as a passenger right now because she is still on pain killers (am trying to wean her) and she can't drive while taking them. She's been very quiet and its so nerve wracking trying to get her to talk. She's normally so bubbly and talks way too much usually getting herself in trouble. I keep telling myself its the pills doing this, so we're down to one a day now to see if she can manage the pain without them. This is her senior year and she's supposed to be having a blast so I really hope and pray this depression is temporary. By the way, there was another major accident in this intersection just 48 hours after my daughter's accident. (2 people are in the hospital fighting for their lives). So now there is a bunch of us on the warpath for changes to be made at that intersection.
I sometimes do think a Hummer would be best for all of us Tom!

OK the List is:

Detroit Lions
Cleveland Browns
Houston Texans
Jacksonville Jaguars
New Orlean Saints

Cardinals were on it until this year, and keep in mind that 3, Houston, Jacksonville and Cleveland are NFL Expansion teams (Last 10 years I think.)

Easy one: Who knows what the last NFL game of the season is called?

Pro-Bowl

Are you hosting visitors for this important event Greg????

Bucky,
I got a lead on SuperBowl tickets for you...look on e-Bay....and have a pair of Pampers on 'cause the price will likely cause you to...well...need the Pampers.
Sorry I couldn't help more. My friend's business does have tickets though..at least so she says.
Since we're doing a little football trivia, anyone want to guess at this one:
Which quarterback has the record for most passing yardage in a single SuperBowl game?
(ps Don't Google it like I did. That spoils the fun.)
