Hawaii sounds pretty good right now. I'd love a little sun. I'm white and no tan at all. Bummer. Im bored with out football this weekend. It's a family thing for us we usually have a group over, plenty of food and drink.
Keep warm.
margaret

Margaret,
Such a long story about my nephew in VT! How much time do you have????

It was 69 here yesterday, and it was absolutely beautiful. Today was a little cooler, but I'll take it. We woke up to rain this morning, its a welcome thing here in the south, but then it turned out to be sunny and about 60. Already counting the days till spring and the fish in my pond are multiplying....what else have they got to do? LOL!

Rooting for the Cardinals, the underdogs of course! I just think they have alot of fire in them thats great to see for a wild card team! (Don't tell my in-laws, they live in BALT!)

Good news, we got my daughter a newer truck this week and she is back behind the wheel! Hooray! Can't begin to tell you how the week went from very scary to normal in such a short time. thanks for all of your prayers!

JoAnn Chegwidden (Rosica)

Yeah, good for you Debbie!! Am soo happy! I will be rooting for the under dogs as well. We have a pool going at work to see who wins. There is only me and another person on the Cardinals side. Oh well, just got to hope for the best. I like it for the food and the commercials. Hope there are some good ones this year. Haaa...hope everyone is doing well.

Isn't it nice to have a REAL President for a CHANGE?

01/27/09 09:05 AM #1240

Thomas J. Cornine

Kevin,

We have had REAL Presidents since 1789, All have been real, they have presided over peace time and times of War, during Economic Crisis and Boom times. While some people try to judge Presidents before they leave office you really shouldn't judge them before they do anything.

Lets see how our new President does in the future, lets at least give him the balance of January and time to get his Cabinet in place. He won the election, let see how he governs.

Hey everyone in the path of the ice storm- please stay safe!!!!!

Hi All,

Life has been a little crazy for me this first month of the new year. My sister, Janice, had surgery on January 9th and luckily they got all the cancer. WHEW!!!!! Then on January 14th one of our retired police lieutenants, who was working for the Township on a part-time basis for our parks and recreation department, suddenly passed away with acute leukemia. We are all still in shock. Then my sisters and I have also been cleaning up Mom's house for an "open house" this past Sunday, which turned out really well. We may have an offer on the house by today or tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed please!

Deb, I want you to know that your daughter was constantly in my thoughts and prayers after that tragic accident. I am glad to hear that she is back behind the wheel. Safe driving to her. I cringe every time my son leaves the house.

Lisa, I hope you are thoroughly enjoying the warmth of Arizona. As I look out my window at work, the ice is still clinging to the branches of the trees. Oh hurry up Spring!

I hope everyone is well and enjoying the New Year.
Love to all, Maureen

P.S. - Happy Birthday JoEllen!!!! :)

Maureen,
So glad to hear your sister's surgery went well. But at the same time I was saddened to hear of the loss of your friend from acute leukemia. These are battles that we just can't control and we must trust in the Lord to give cancer patients the power they need to remain strong in their faith.

Christina is doing great all things considered. What blows my mind is the decisions she has made as a 17 yr old since the accident about who she no longer wants to drive with. Speeders, reckless drivers, etc. I thank God everyday that she survived the crash, but am also thankful that something positive came from something very traumatic for her.

OKAY- who's rooting for the Cardinals????

01/29/09 09:48 AM #1245

Thomas J. Cornine

Maureen,

Glad to hear your Sister is better, that is one nasty Disease. I will keep in my prayers you and your family, hope you get want you want for your mom's house.

Go Cardinals, I like underdogs.

WHERE IS EVERYBODY......

Hope everyone is doing well.

Tom

Yeah - where is everyone? Who is up for a spring roadtrip to Atlanta???? My door is always open! We could make it a long weekend when there is something special happening in town. Any weekend in April is always pretty with the dogwoods and azaleas blooming. Who is game???? Tom??? Diana??? Lisa???? Scerbo??? Lets start planning something! And spouses are definitely included! My husband really enjoyed our reunion. (By the way - John Pascarella, apparently you have a twin out there!)

Maureen Bezold (Como)

Deb and Tom,
Thanks for the well wishes for my sister. The family was quite relieved with the "good" news for a change. As far as Mom's house, my sister just emailed me with the news that we got an offer on the house, but a very insulting one. We are asking $439,000 "as is" and the offer was for $370,000. You know what they can do with that offer.

01/29/09 03:40 PM #1248

Deborah Kozak (Martin)

Is the home in Jersey? I thought the prices were holding steady in Jersey. Its a good sign that you have an offer- that means there's interest. Hang in there!

01/29/09 04:20 PM #1249

Maureen Bezold (Como)

Deb, my Mom's house is in Parsippany. There was a lot of interest in the house on Sunday with about 17 groups of people coming through. My sister just emailed a little while ago that another offer is coming through but we probably won't know the amount until tomorrow. We can only hope and pray.

Hey guys,

Maureen, Is that the house in Normandy Village? Boy am I glad the houses in the mid-west are more reasonable. I remember my parents house down the steet from you, cost them $30,000 (I was in 2nd grade) I'm glad your sister is o.k. Tell your mom, sisters and brother and your Mikes I said hi.
Tom I forgot about the Saints.Go Cards!!
Shade, in high school I never pictured you as " Susie Chapstick" or a snow bunnie but as Im sitting here trying to type,I can now see you swishing down the hill with your long blond hair blowing in the wind.My wifes coming, so back to reallity.
See ya's
Buck
Miss you to Liz

Hi Everyone...
Go Cardinals...we're getting excited to have our football playing little selves in the Superbowl! I'm sure it'll be a fun game...2 good quarterbacks and that crazy man Palamaulou ( Sp???) all over the field. Enjoy the game and have a great weekend. Tom, you make a very authentic Kiss frontman!!
xoxo Lisa

Buck,
Yes, that is my Mom's house in Normandy Village on Orleans Road. We moved to Parsippany from Palisades Park in June of 1966. I'm pretty sure it is the same style house that you guys lived in (the Greenbriar). We received another offer on the house of $380,000 and my siblings feel that we should counter with $400,000, so we'll see. I will definitely pass along your "hello's" to my family.

01/31/09 07:42 AM #1253

Deborah Kozak (Martin)

Maureen-
Didn't Lisa Henkel live in Normandy Village? I would definitely counter at $400,000. They can always counter that offer if they're really interested. And if this is the second family offering, there may be more. So don't settle if you don't have to.

Lisa-
Palamalou (or whatever his name is) is he the one with the wild hair???? I cringe when i see players grabbing each other by their long locks of love! Go Cardinals!

My youngest is swimming in her first h.s school regional swim meet today (she's a freshman). She set a record last week at the county meet which they won. This reminds of basketball days at MCHS when we ruled!

Hi Everyone,
I'm recovering from the Cardinals OH SO CLOSE Superbowl defeat. It was an exciting game wasn't it? I was watching with friends and I swear (no pun intended) I have never heard more bad words and cursing in my life...even I came close to dropping the F-bomb. Well, if you can't swear at the refs in the Superbowl (through the TV screen) than who can you swear at!! ps..There were no little ones around thank goodness.
okay...now onto college basketball...or maybe we can just turn the TV off for a few weeks. That would be new and different.
Stay well...thanks for cheering on the Cardinals!
xoxo Lisa

What a great game. Best Superbowl ever for me. I was riveted. My sons in Oahu and I kept phone-calling each other back & forth with our own commentaries. Great fun.

Lisa - I can't imagine the f-bomb coming from you. Good girl you are.

Lisa having been next to you for 4 years I find it hard to believe you even know what the F Bomb is......

Good game Cardinals some tough calls but you both played well. I was thinking upset 2 years straight...

Well guess we need to wait a month for the NCAA tournament to begin....

Anyone scheduling a get together, any ideas?

Lisa also yes thought it would be fun to put up some lighter side photos of me. hope you enjoyed.

Awesome Superbowl! We were with about 20 people, only one family was rooting for Pittsburgh. You can imagine how loud we were when AZ pulled ahead! We were roaring! I have to agree with Greg- best Superbowl I can remember in a longgggggggggg time! But sorry the Cardinals came up just a little short.
