Maureen,

Missed the story about the dog being treated at A&M. The vet school there is pretty amazing. When I was there they had a field full of cows that had plastic portholes in their sides for the students to learn how different grasses affected milk and beef production.

Just to give the weather, right now it is 72F with no clouds and a north wind. Got get my boy to Baseball practice. Thanks to everbody for all the Bday wishes.

"STUMP" -the dog that won Westminster was just too handsome! I didn't hear he had been sick, but what a great story.

Happy Birthday Greg! You must be loving the warm weather in Texas (am I remembering right that you are in Texas?) Our bradford pear trees have buds on them which seems kind of early even for Atlanta.

Maureen,
I only saw the winning dog...what a great old boy! My other dog choice is a Bernese Mountain Dog...an old cart pulling breed. Tri color. Big and strong...my luck.probably excessive droolers as well!
Tom, sorry to hear about your cat allergies...anyone with even the slightest hint of allergy is dead meat in my house!...but I do keep a sparkling clean home...most of the time.
DEBBIE....AUBURN is great! Time to start selling the jewelry to pay for the kids education!
Love you and congrats to your daughter. She should be proud of herself!
Lisa H.,I've been meaning to tell you how much I admire all the time you seem to spend with your women's and church groups. I really need to get more involved in my community....it's been on my mind for a long time. Stay well
xoxo Lisa

Hi Friends,

Here is a link to help anyone get matched with he right dog. You can also seek help from a professional who helps people get matched with the right dog. Even whilst finding the right breed, their personalities may differ dramatically. So, meet the pups with someone who knows how to match your lifestyle with the right breed and pup within the litter. Copy and paste the below link into your browser.

http://dogtime.com/matchup/question/1

I'm sure all of you that go through the questinaire will be surprised with the results.

Remember the dogs waiting at shelters, there are lots of great dogs available there as well. Just be sure you can handle the health and psychological issues of a shelter dog.

Here's a youtube vid that is helpful when choosing a pup. Some of these principles can be used in selecting an older dog as well.

Mr. Cody -

Fantastic info, thanks! Took the dog match-up test and found out I have the wrong crew! Next time I'll know better! Congrats on the recent marriage, career, and horse farm. Sounds like a wonderful life!

Liz - Love sunshine too, but will trade sunshine and warmth for a few treats from Viking Bakery. Or a pizza from Senatore's on Rt 10 if it is still there!

There should be more people in this world that have the depth of spirituality that Lisa Henkel possesses. I've always admired her for her honesty and integrity, but more importantly for her dedication to God. Love ya Lisa!

Liz- I'm with Maureen F, will trade sunshine for Reservoir Pizza! Or even just a plain old Jersey bagel would do!

Does anyone in New Jersey feel like we should be living in Kansas and our names should be Dorothy!?!? The wind today has been dreadful and has also taken a few lives. Also, part of the roof of the gym at Morris Catholic blew off today and the kids don't have school tomorrow.

Mr. Sunshine, how many alias' are you up to now? Is it 5 or 6 because I have lost count.

Greg N., what heartwarming words you spoke of cleaning out your parents house - I definitely feel your pain and you brought tears to my eyes. It has been a very difficult undertaking for my family but one we must complete. It has also brought back so many memories of living at 6 Orleans Road - finding photos and other memoriabilia (not sure if I spelt that correctly) such as "love letters" that my Dad wrote to my Mom while he was in the war. My sister started reading some of them the other day and she found out that my Dad used to call my Mom "bubbleface". Where that came from we will never know. Thanks again for your support.

And Deb, how difficult it must have been for your Dad to clean out his brothers apartment. I can only hope that I learn a lesson from this so that my son does not have to endure this difficult task in the future. If you haven't used something in 6 months pass it on to someone more needy.

Liz, I must agree with you, Spring cannot come quick enough although they are calling for snow next week.

Tom, as far as a get together, Ellen, Liz, Nancy and I were emailing today as far as a date and location. Nancy tells me that Friday nights are good for her, and Ellen is checking her schedule. When is good for you? If anyone else in the New Jersey area is up for an outing, chime in and give us some ideas.

Signing off for now but will check in later. That darn wind is still howling outside.

Maureen

Yes very windy yesterday, I again headed into the City, using my newport centre mall parking for a couple hours. when I got to the mall the light rail was closed because of falling glass. Apparently windows were being blown out of office towers in Jersey city.

Maureen, any Night is ok Friday's are probably best. I need notice thats all, let meknow what I need to do and where we are getting together.

Deborah Kozak (Martin)

Can you move the get together to Atlanta? :}

I'm a proud Aunt once again! My brother Dennis (4 years younger than me) and his wife gave birth to a healthy baby girl this afternoon. No name yet for Baby Girl Kozak but she has a head full of black curly hair!

Oh...I know I won't be missed,that's ok.I like to stay awake while chatting.You guys....enjoy yourselves.See ya next lifetime...

Dear Kev,
Don't know if you'll read this or not but I'm going to say something anyway. I don't know why our conversations with one another seem to send you off in such an angry or frustrated or whatever it is direction. We enjoy hearing about each others lives and we talk about being friends and parents and things we enjoy like sports and jokes and we share stories and light-hearted laughs and sometimes we throw a little dig at one another and we have prayed for sick family members and friends together and we realized that after not seeing each other for 30 years that we still care about each other enough to say Happy Birthday and glad the house sold and thank God your daughter was okay and all the rest of it that you so sadly referred to as "boring bullshit." I am saying this from my heart Kevin, and I'm speaking for myself when I say that in this sometimes challenging hike through life that we take...we all encounter challenges. For you and for every classmate, I have always hoped and prayed for nothing but happiness every step of that hike. I'm wishing the same for you now, and even if you don't know it. I'll pray for it.
xo Lisa

While I don't know if Kevin will read this either, it is sad to see that simple postings about families; both good and sad stories, have not interested Kevin.

Maybe some would like to discuss their political views here on the forum, but it would only result in vicious attacks on each other and the leaders of our country and this is not the place for that discussion.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who I have renewed and started friendships with via our 30th reunion. This forum has been like a gift to me during a difficult time in my life. I've enjoyed all of the postings immensely and plan on remaining involved and hoping to share more tears and laughs with y'all. So Lisa(C&H), Tom, Bez, Liz, Bucky, Maureen, Greg(M & N), etc... keep on writing! I love y'all!

I find this site comforting, allowing me to reconnect with old friends and classmates. I agree this is not the site for Major political discourse as we are all of an age that we have our own views. Each of you are my classmate, a special bond, I look at each of you fondly and not as a Republican, Democrat, Liberal or Libertarian. we are all much more than that.

We catch up with our lives here, share happy times and times of concern. My life has never been perfect, but my memories of this group is, and always will be perfect. you are all good people and Friends. I am sorry some of us feel they need to leave this group, but I don't think there comment on our musings as "Boring" is appropriate, this is Life our life lets enjoy this communications while we can and remember our time together.

I was QUITE saddened by Kevin's post when I read it this morning and, Kevin, you will be missed if you choose not to continue in our lives. I can only say 'TOUCHE' to Lisa, Deb and Tom for your words. You put into writing what I would have wanted to say, and for that, THANK YOU!!!!

02/14/09 05:43 PM #1328

I’m not sure I could add anything of value as a reply since Lisa, Debbie, Tom, and Maureen Bez have responded quite eloquently. Please accept my apologies for any of my postings that may have been unpleasant. I am glad to have found this site and hope not to offend anyone, and look forward to keeping in touch.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Just a quick observation, The Holidays sometimes push people past the Guardrails of life, Look at the date of Kevin's post, Then look at the time, normally at that time I am either Out like a light or Lit up like a Road flare. This forum may have been the only safety valve available at the time, At the end of the day we all choose who we hang around with. For the record I have never taken a Psych class, so please take the above with about 2 tons of Road Salt. Kevin, If you see this, good luck in Canada and let Maureen Murphy know I said hello.

Hey,

Debbie Kozak, Just noticed from you profile that you worked for EDS, My wife Loretta worked in the Legal Dept in Plano for a few years before I was able to scam a transfer to Austin, Sure miss those GM Employee discounts on cars.

Yes, those discounts were great! I worked for EDS when Ross Perot was steering the ship! But hey, if you are buying a GM car, I think they are giving everyone the discount now. Its really a shame how the Big 3 have suffered.

Good Evening all,
Not wanting to change the subject from GM, but another earthquake has hit Morris County. It was a 2.2 and was located in Montville. I know 2.2 is not much but when you are not used to them it is quite scary.
