Hi Bill,

Many of my former students go to Indiana University. Great school! Let me know what questions you have. I can have one of my students contact your daughter to help her feel at home if you'd like. Just let me know.

Bill, Bill, Bill,

I think my son would love to go to Indiana University, if your daughter AManda will be going, even if he doesn't actually enroll!! :o)

carol,

i now have my fingers in my ears and i'm yelling "nananananana". i don't want to hear ANYTHING about boys, even if he's a "good boy", which i'm sure your son is. and a funny story: as you know, girls are different than boys. when i went to college, i took the blankets/pillows from home and just put them on my new bed at school. not girls. so we had to buy amanda new stuff (she has already picked out a "color pallette" with her future roommate!). anyway, my wife lays all the stuff out downstairs (blanket, comforter, sheets, pillow cases, "accent" pillows, etc). my daughter lays down and starts rolling around and says "this is so comfortable - EVERYONE is going to be trying to get into my bed!". well... of course i always "go there", so i told her "no one better be trying to get into your bed!". we had a good laugh...

great, thanks, glenda. i also thought it would be cool if any of us had kids going to the same school for them to meet.

Thats hilarious Bill! Same thing going on here with the color palette.....Christina's roommate has even bought pink hangers. Now thats going a little bit too far for me! And I hate to say this but when i went to Scranton, there was no such thing as a color palette worked out with your roommate since we didn't know our roommates until we actually got there. Good luck to you Bill, i will be thinking of you when we move Christina in that no one will be trying to get into her bed!

deb,

good luck with move in, etc. it is an exciting time. we're actually enjoying the freedom. my younger one (karina, 14) is in italy for 3 weeks and amanda was off with friends, so regina and i spent the entire day in chicago yesterday - it was like a honeymoon (without the sex, since now we're old!). we had a great time.

If I can think back that far, the "color pallete" for my dorm room would have been described as.............uhhh........uhhh......oh yeah UGLY! that's the word! But life in the dorm was fun! Bill , I hope your daughter heeds your wise parental words and glad to hear you and Regina got to enjoy a little time alone!

I don't feel like I'm old, maybe in denial - but I did get an AARP card in the mail today.

I rarely work Saturdays, but I came in today to find that the office two floors above mine had a fire, and the sprinkler system dumped water all the way down to my floor. Lucky though, my boss's office right next to mine got destroyed (Ha!)as did most of the others - but mine is untouched. So here I am working while the carpet recovery crew is going at it.

Another day in paradise.
