Judy Casemore lived on Heyden St. during her school years. She attended Burt Elementary School before attending Redford High School and was an excellent student. In 1959 she enrolled in the Wayne State University school of Business completing a BS degree in Business Education. She went on to teach Business in the Dearborn School System for most of her career. After retirement, she used her business skills to invest in real estate holdings as well as becoming a licensed agent. She attended (and loved) Ward Presbyterian Church and was instrumental in starting a singles group there. Both of her parents pre-deceased her, and she lived alone with her cats until her death from ovarian cancer in 2007. In 2006, she attended a reunion of friends who lived on Heyden St. during their school years. It was a wonderful time for everyone, although none realized it would be a "farewell". We were all grateful to have seen her one last time.

I learned of Judy's passing a year ago but did not know when or from what. Thank you Sue for filling in the blanks. We were friends from Burt School through high school and Wayne. She was in my wedding. She was very popular at Burt and had a boyfriend Rick (I believe that's his name) who was crazy about her. I enjoyed going to her home and playing in her finished basement. She invited me on occasion to her church at the time, Assembly of God, on Fenkell past the theater. I remember visiting her at her condo in Plymouth and her speaking of becoming a real estate agent. Judy was a genuine nice, considerate person and its hard to believe she is gone.

Judy was in my class at Burt Elementary. She, Judy Galloway, Sue Minkes and Giny Fisher walked home together. She was a sweet spirit and well-liked.

I was really sorry to see Judy's name on the list of deceased classmates. Thanks Sue for filling in the details. I lived on Kentfield. I considered her a good friend in school at Burt & Redford, and also remember playing in her basement. She wrote a lovely note in my yearbook.
