Kenneth R. Hunt

1942-2021

Kenneth R. Hunt, died peacefully on January 22, 2021, in Clearwater, Florida with his beloved wife, Kaloolah Hunt by his side. He was 79 years old.

Ken was an active senior who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Ken was out-going and known for his wicked sense of humor. In his golden years, Ken enjoyed attending Corvette Club events, participating in chair yoga at the Clearwater senior center, spending time with friends and neighbors at Mission Hills social events and relaxing in the pool. Ken was a voracious reader and when he wasn't devouring a Clive Cussler novel, he was watching movies on Turner Classics. Ken loved politics and was up for a good debate about the state of politics right up until his death.

Ken was born in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Roscoe D. Hunt and Mary Marvel (Lorencz) Hunt. He graduated from Detroit Redford High School where he played basketball and participated in Key Club. Ken kept in touch with friends from high school and had many fond memories of his neighborhood in Rosedale Park.

Ken was a proud parent and is survived by his daughter, Kelly K. Hunt-Elizondo and husband Ralph Elizondo of Canton, Michigan; and son, Mitchell D. Hunt and wife Mickey Hunt of Kalkaska, Michigan. His son Kevin M. Hunt preceded him in death.

Ken was also a devoted step-father and is survived by step-son Andrew Vensko; step-daughter, Kaloolah Felver and husband Michael Felver; and step-daughter Letitia Dent.

Ken will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Anna, Malia, Braydon and Brandon who loved Grandpa's teasing and joking around.

Arrangements are being handled by Sunset Point Cremation in Clearwater, Florida.

Donations can be made in Ken's name to the American Heart Association in honor of Ken's battle with congestive heart failure.
