Karen and I started kindergarten together in 1946 at Harding grade school.  We lived just two blocks apart so we skipped, sang, talked, and sometimes kicked rocks forward as we walked along our way.  Not a care in the world back then, and we both found plenty to share and giggle about.  We both cried when she and her brother Jimmy learned they were moving and would have to change schools, but life felt right again when we both attended Redford High School in 1955.
Smart,  fun, pretty, adventurous, witty, brave and was never one to be ‘pushed around’, she definitely knew how to take care of herself and I loved her.  I know we’ll be together again; Hallelujah!!!     :-)))     <><

Karen and I were J.C. Lodge classmates. She lived two blocks south of me on Fenton. I invited her to take evening ballroom dance lessons at RHS in the 9th grade. Brave me.... She said yes! My parents were our transportation and also took these classes with us over several weeks. We learned to waltz. A very memorable time for us which she happily recalled years later when we talked.
