                           Barbara 'Bonnie' Y. (Yale) Meanor

                                                             March 24, 1941  -  October 29, 2025

With a heavy heart, Barbara Meanor, also known as Bonnie, a beloved mother and friend, passed away on October 29, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Those who knew her will remember her intelligence, sense of humor, and concern for others. She was born in Michigan to the late Richard M. Yale and Annetta S. Yale (Schmitz), and she enjoyed a childhood full of family and education. After high school, she obtained a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Michigan, married, eventually moved to Monroeville, and earned her Master's degree in Education from Pitt University.

She was a loving mother to her two children, Richard Y. Miller (Lisa Palmieri) and Katherine M. Miller (Richard Dworek); wife to George A. Meanor and had two step children, Jeff Meanor and Shelley Meanor; a grandmother to her five grand children, Austin Wentling (Randi), Nicholas Miller (Emily), Natalie Dworek, Nolan Dworek, Maura Dworek; and three great-grandchildren, Warren, Kennedy and Yale Miller. She was preceded in death by her sister, Susan K. Yale.

She enjoyed a career at the Allegheny Intermediate Unit that allowed her to educate and invest in others. She was a member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church and loved singing in the choir for years. Bonnie was an avid reader and knitter. Knitting became such a part of her life that she was known to pick up her knitting and add a few stitches at red lights! She combined her love of knitting beautiful sweaters and other projects with teaching others to knit, while providing unique and quality yarn, turning her passion into a career by opening Bonnie Knits in Monroeville. Later in life she enjoyed traveling with the knitting community to many countries. The knitting world will not be the same without her! She had many life long friendships and was seen daily on walks with her friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 11:00 am, until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm at JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC.
