Dear sister of Janet Johnson and Carol Schuler. Funeral Tuesday 11 a.m. (in state 10 a.m.) at Redford Presbyterian Church, 17226 Redford St., Detroit (just W. of Lahser). Visitation Monday 2-8 p.m. at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, 33603 Grand River Ave., downtown Farmington (1 block W. of Farmington Rd.). Memorial contributions may be made to Redford Presbyterian Church or Angela Hospice.

It's heartbreaking for me to see a classmate with not the first comment following their death notice. When I saw this to be the case for Gail, I just had to write. Now, it's true, I didn't know her on a personal level, plus she was that half year ahead of me at Redford, but I did know who she was, and even to this very day, I don't need The BLAZER to show me her face to visualize her.Gail was pleasant, cheerful, and we always spoke a few kind words to each other. She nearly always had a smile on her face. I see from her name that she'd married, but sadly, at this time, that's all we do know. Perhaps as time goes on and more people get involved with this wonderful site Ken Kelsey has gifted us with, someone will know and share more details of her life, maybe even a 'friend to the end' will write about her.
Yes, Gail Sokup - a name and face I clearly remember.
