Don Carman

Donald “Don” Herbert Carman

1941-2025

Don Carman, 84, of Broomfield, Colorado, died peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Don was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1941 to John “Jack” Carman and Barbara (Billmeyer) Carman. He grew up with his older sister Christianne “Chris,” graduating from Redford High School in January, 1959. He attended the University of Michigan, graduating in May, 1965 with a B.S. in Engineering. He was a lifelong supporter of the University and would discuss at length the merits of going to school there. Don worked as a computer specialist, starting in a time when computers barely existed, and ending as we moved to smart phones. He was an avid woodworker, building grandfather clocks, furniture, and other items for family and friends. He also loved to travel, and moved to new locations as opportunities arose. Don was preceded in death by his father, Jack; his mother, Barbara; and his brother-in-law, Daniel. He is survived by his sister, Chris; and his children: Amy and her husband Matthew; Holly; and John “Jed” and his wife Julie. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Ethan, Kyle, Margaret, Galen, and Landon; as well as his nieces: Laura and her husband Ed; and Karen and her husband Dave; along with their families. Lastly, he is survived by his former spouses: Susan and Marina. A Celebration of Life is being planned at The Gallery in Broomfield, Colorado. It will be held in the Spring, on a date to be determined.
