Priscilla Jean (Hoisington) Murdoch Obituary

1941-2025

RIGA – Priscilla Jean Murdoch, age 84, of Riga, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Hickory Ridge of Temperance, under the loving care of Heartland Hospice. She was born in Detroit on January 9, 1941, the daughter of the late Edward Clausen and Eunice Free (Wellington) Hoisington. After graduating high school, Jean became a beautician, a job she held for 30 plus years. On July 7, 1984, she married Richard C. Murdoch in Detroit, and he preceded her in death on July 4, 2014.

Jean was very big on family, raising her two daughters practically on her own. Her daughters and her grandchildren meant the world to her. Jean also loved her cats and her dogs – especially Demetrius her Great Dane. She enjoyed her job as a beautician, making jewelry, and shopping networks such as QVC. Growing up, she sang in choirs and was on WJR radio station.

Surviving are her daughters, Shari (Jeremy) Martindale and Susan (Jason Myers) Qaimari; grandchildren, Samyera, Amir, Elizabeth (Tyler), Seryna, and Madison; three great-grandchildren, Weylynn, Marlow, and Marley; and a brother, Richard “Dick” Hoisington. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Econ; and a sister-in-law, Sandy Hoisington.

Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the Anderson-Rudd Funeral Home in Blissfield on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, at which time a memorial service will take place.
