Karen Ann (Misch) Viazanko
1941-2024
Karen Ann (Misch) Viazanko (83) passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2024 in the comfort of her own home with family and friends. She maintained her quick wit, quiet strength, grace, gratitude, kindness and compassion to the end of her journey with us all. She was a force to contend with and lived life on her own terms. She met the love of her life, James Edward Viazanko and they married on August 4, 1979. They spent the next forty-five years loving and taking care of each other and many others. There were no strangers in her world, only family that she hadn’t met yet. She was a mother to six, grandmother to twenty-five, and great-grandmother to twenty-two. Karen graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Wayne State University. She worked for three decades as a home care nurse through Visiting Nurses Association. She loved anything and everything involving family; including vacations, holidays and simple dinners. She would cook ‘extra’ for whoever would stop by. She read voraciously and enjoyed board games and detective shows. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Francis William Misch and Cloeda (Elliot) Misch and grandson, Joseph McDonald. She is survived by her husband James Edward Viazanko, her siblings Michael Misch and Judith (Misch) Leeper, children Cindy Anderson, Kimberly McDonald, Julie Pulgini, Eric Eisenberg, John Viazanko and Brian Viazanko. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Williams Lake Church of the Nazarene, in Waterford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation or Williams Lake Church Learning Center.
