Paula Jo Birdwell (Bradford)

I think the 4th of July weekend looks like a good time for a reunion in 2013.  Any place is fine with me.  Since some will be flying in, maybe the Inn of the Mountain Gods might be harder to access.  How about one of those all-inclusive resorts somewhere?

Charlie and I would love to see everyone in 2013.   Somewhere easy to fly in to would be great.  A cruise in November would be hard for us.

Anita Cameron sent me this link.  It is 2 brothers singing our class song "The Impossible Dream".

You have to hear it.

Home in Dimmitt after the 50th reunion in Fredericksburg. Had a wonderful time visiting with all. Ronnie did an excellent job entertaining us Saturday evening. A good crowd, but would have been even better if more could have made it.

Rochelle. That was Durge not Surge. Spell check didn't even like thinking about Durge.

Lol. I am sure I wouldn't even know how to play the French Horn anymore. I am sorry I missed the reunion, but my aunt that is moving here to live was upset because she couldn't find a house to buy and I felt I had to help her. Just everyone else's stuff was more important than my stuff. I promise I will be at the next one...unless the angels take me early.

The 50-year class reunion was a hoot!  We had 24 classmates and 18 spouses attend the event in Fredericksburg at the Inn on Barons Creek.  It was a lovely venue and I think everyone had a great time.

My thanks to all who helped make this a special event.  A'llan and Sue were especially helpful in purchasing and preparing food for snacks and arranging our dinner on Saturday evening.  Debra (and John) were extremely gracious in opening up their suite to everyone for breakfast and wine and cheese.  And thanks to everyone who brought goodies of any kind!  We had SO much food we could have fed an army!!

A big thanks to Vickie Bennett who brought the "In Memory" display of our departed classmates.  Vickie, we know you faced some extreme challenges in the days leading up to the reunion and you came through like the champion we know and love!  Thank you for going the extra mile for the Class of '68.

And I cannot forget about Ron Huckabay, who provided our entertainment after dinner on Saturday.  Ron, you are just as funny now as you were in high school, if not more so!  We all appreciate your leading us down memory lane.

Thank you all for making the effort to come to the reunion, some of you from great distances.  I thoroughly enjoyed seeing and visiting with all of you!  Let's do it again soon!!

Your old classmate,

Elaine

Two things I had intended to include but forgot - please excuse the omission.

First and foremost - A BIG THANK YOU to Elaine, Sue and A'llan for putting this all together and pulling it off successfully.  It can be difficult to make that many Seniors happy.  Also, thanks to Debra and John for opening their temporary home to us.  (Although John did comment that he thought I resembled James Coburn - google "water hole number 3 movie cast" - ??? yes, I am susceptble to flattery - but judge for yourself)  Thanks to all who helped make the event so great.

Secondly, I had intended to establish the couple that had celebrated the most anniversaries.  I did overhear some conversations regarding such -but forgot to ask while I had the chance with everyone present.  My guess would be Anthony and Mary Mayes or Johnny and Doricell Davis.  Charlotte and I just celebred 41 - so I know we do not top that list.

Mostly, It meant SO much to me to have the opportunity to visit with everyone there.  Amazing what wonderful and loving people I talked to.  It is with much pride that I consider each of you a life-long friend.  Thanks

We enjoyed the reunion so much.  Thanks to everyone who came.  Charlie and I had a great time and it was so special to see everyone.  A very special time that many people never get to expericence.  We missed all that did not come.  Hopefully nex time.

Love to all.

Sue
