Thanks to everyone who made our reunion possible! I know you spent countless hours in planning - it is greatly appreciated. I hated missing the football game and the picnic as that was the time to really sit and talk with all of you. At the next reunion, I don't care what anyone in my family is involved in, I will be at every event planned! The social was so much fun - it was great seeing so many of you; however, those that didn't make it, you really were missed, and I hope that you will make it to the next one - you will not regret it! Thanks again to Dale, Billie and the entire committee. FABULOUS JOB. Take care all.

Anne

To all of my classmates who were there and those of you who were not able to attend it was indeed wonderful! I would like to thank all of the committee members for their hard work and dedication. I wanted so bad to have a reunion, and because of all of them it happened! I love you guys! I am going to miss being together and meeting. I hope that everyone that was in attendance truly enjoyed the reunion as much as I did. I do believe though, that I am going to step down as "Best Dancer" and give that title to Terry Meade. He danced like no other. Everything was great! The food, the music, and all of you who made it possible. Let us all keep in touch with each other through this wonderful website that has been created for us.
Best to All!!

I would just like to say thanks to everyone attending the reunion Saturday. I worked on the photos yesterday and I had some really great shots. I will be posting some of them on this website as well as my own. If you see anything you would like a copy of, please email me. I feel this website has helped to make the reunion a huge success.
Dale,
I know you were concerned that I was working and didn't enjoy my reunion, but I just want you to know that I was able to connect with most of the people at the reunion at least for a few minutes because of the pictures.
I hope we can have another one in 5 years.
God Bless everyone and I will be in touch to let you know when to pick up pictures once they come back.
Love to all,
Robin.

Thanks to everyone for a great weekend. I hope that everyone enjoyed the events. I also hope that those who could not attend this time will try to attend the next one--hopefully in five years.

We enjoyed planning the reunion. It was great to see everyone!

Everyone keep in touch and look at the website often. We will keep it going.

The Class of 78 is truly great!

As I rested yesterday evening from all of the weekend events, I was drawn to check out the website yet again! Thanks for the early pictures from some of you on your profiles- they are great!

I read Larry Bralley's message about our committee and got all teary eyed. Larry, would you and Constance stop making me cry? Then Tommy Farmer comes along with his sentimental words of wisdom!! Tears again! I had a great time with the planning group and a great time this weekend.

Thanks to everyone for attending, thanks for the committee help, Alice for the great nametags, Larry Riffey for the cups (and I failed to get one!!- Larry, do you have the extras?) Donna and her team, Brenda Riggle's message, Lee and Mickey's tours, John Crosby and the good tunes, and the last minute volunteers who climbed ladders to help us get those balloons back up Saturday, and others who helped us cleanup after both events. This was truly a successful team effort and great time for the Class of '78!

I too want to thank the reunion committee for all their hard work. I also want to thank all those who attended for taking time out of their busy schedules to have some time together as a group. Seeing how this was the first reunion I have been able to attend, it was extremely special for me since I have been out of Virginia now for a while. I was determined I wasn't going to miss this! It sure didn't seem like 30 years had passed. Can't wait for the next one! Hopefully we'll see some smiling faces that we didn't get to see this time.

I need to also add a big note of appreciation for Sammy Spence and the helium. And Thanks to Robin for the pictures. Next time we will try to remember a lamp for you and a lamp for the registration table!!! I can't wait to see the pictures!

The reunion committee did an outstanding job! Thousands of thanks to Dale and Teresa for talking me into coming Saturday night. Everything was wonderful down to the smallest details.
Seeing everyone again was priceless!
Can't thank everyone enough,

The reunion has come and gone but I find myself checking each day to see who has posted a response and who has updated their profiles.

I have a busy schedule this week so I haven't had a chance to post any of the candid shots, but I promise that I will because some of them are really good.

Hodgie, the food was spectacular! Our DJ Rocks! I think it was really something that we were able to use our own classmates to help this reunion come together. Larry, those cups are neat. I will be calling you soon. I want some hand outs for my customers.

Donna, I will be sure and recommend you for wedding couples that contact me about pictures.

I didnt get a chance to view the pictures on the screen, but that was a lovely idea and I did go and take a look at the memorial.

I have to share this with you all just because it is one of those moments. When we were at the picnic at the time we were being seated, I looked at the row of people on the next table and told Marvin, I need to move over there because that is how it was at high school. It was several of the girls that I sat with in a row all chatting and it brought back high school memories.

I went to P C H S a couple years ago and accepted an award on behalf of Arcet, the company that I work for from the FBLA. They had their dinner and I sat down on those seats in the lunch room. That was funny. I sure didnt remember those seats being so low and uncomfortable. LOL.

This is truly a time for sharing. I encourage all of you to share memories such as this.

It was truly great and I don't plan on missing another reunion!

This was the best event EVER!! A whopping big THANKS to all on the committee for your fantastic work! It was so great to see people I hadn't seen in the past 30+ years and catch up some. I can hardly wait until the next time we do this. Also, at the game on Friday, Cougar Dave got a couple of good shots of our section when he was taking pictures. You can find them here:
www.cougarfootball.net click on the picture, top center of the page, then click on game pictures, then on-more photos by David Gravely. If you see something you like you can save a copy or buy a print from that site.
Robin, I can't wait to see the photos you took also. Everyone take care and those of you that I don't see around town once in a while, I hope to see the next time around!

What a great time was had by all! We can’t express our gratitude enough to the planning committee for all their hard work and dedication. Every detail was planned out splendidly. I had a great time visiting with old friends and just standing around trying to match current faces with old names was a blast. The football game was exciting – the cougars pulled off a big win in the final moments of the game. We were reminiscing about our freshman football season at PCHS – the team was winless that year – I think 0 – 10! The picnic was a blast – the food was great and the weather couldn’t have been nicer. And the social hour/dance was so much fun – everyone seems to have such a good time. This was my first reunion and I sincerely hope we have another one in five years.

I just wanted to continue the thanks to the planning committee and all the people involved in the most organized and fun event I've been to in years. I can't believe how some of us have changed and others not that much. This whole event brought back so many memories of all the great times we had. I had so much fun talking with everyone and listening to all the stories and events that I had forgotten. I really appreciate what Larry Bralley had said about how you kind of feel on the outside, but it was like everyone was family. I know I spoke with several classmates that I hadn't spent that much time with in school and it was like we were best friends catching up on old times. Yes Marcia, I know were you are coming from on the holding back of the tears. The ones that didn't make it, you need to be there next time. We all missed you very much. I really hope to see you all soon so please stay in touch. See ya in at least five years!!!!!

p.s. Dale, you need to ask for a pay raise for this fantastic website!!

Reunion Committee...There aren't enough words!

Donna...Not only a fabulous display...Scrumptious food!

Decorating Committee...I felt like I had entered a fairy tale land!

John...Music was spectacular! (I'll always love to dance!)

Classmates...I love you guys! Thanks for sharing yourselves with all of us. Everyone looked great!

"Bubbles" Your speech touched us all and, at a time when your heart needed lifting, you took the time to be with us and lift us. That's serving! My heart continues to keep you in thought and prayer at the loss of your dear mother.

If you didn't make it to this reunion, mark your calendars for the next one. Memories were made over the weekend that will last for a long time to come!

Bud and I had a wonderful time! Thank you all

Hello Everyone and back to the swing of things after being in Pulaski for almost 2 weeks.

First of all, let me add my praises and kudos for a fantastic reunion weekend. The picnic and evening social were wonderful and would not have been so without the hours of preparation (and fun) the reunion committee put into this event. I have to admit something...I was one of the ones that first voted to have our next reunion in 10 years...I want to change that to 5!!
I have to agree with L. Bralley...we were all there with no hidden agendas, just to meet and reminisce and that was well accomplished.
Dale & Mike, now that I'm back, I'll send you a copy of "Some of Us" so you can post it on the website. Many thanks for the many of you requesting a copy and having it touch you in some way.
I also want to add a note of thanks for the many hugs and condolences given to me with the passing of my Mother that Sat. morning the 11th. It was a hard 6 months and especially the last 6 weeks for the family with Mom in the end stage of dementia and failing physical health. She knew of the reunion and said I must go to the party...she had her own to go to and well she did. Also had 5 class members to attend the visitation and that was so appreciated. So........... as I said at both our reunion and at Mom's eulogy:

"Life isn't how many breaths we take but how much in life takes our breath away."

And now...... you people that hit the Great Smoky Mountains on the Tennessee side... You can get there 5 ways from our home in Knoxville and never hesitate to call for help or recommendations or just to say 'hi.'

Again....... a great reunion weekend and truly cannot wait for the next.

Hugs and Prayers,
Brenda (aka Bubbles)

I want to express my sincere gratitude to the reunion committee for taking the time and making the effort to coordinate the 30 year Reunion. I can't describe how much it meant to return home to spend time where I grew up and return to places full of memories. Just driving up to the stadium on Friday night and seeing cars lining the road for miles, it was like a TV movie! And then seeing that the stadium was named after Kenneth Dobson, OUR superintendent...someone said that if you knew the folks that venues are named for, then you must be old! That may be true, but seeing the stadium thriving and full of excitement was nostalgic and wonderful! The picnic was a great opportunity to catch up with old friends on a beautiful southwest Virginia fall day. The tour of the high school brought back great memories...those cafeteria seats are SMALL! I also enjoyed seeing the renovation of the Pulaski Theater. Living in the Atlanta suburbs makes me appreciate even more the rare beauty of the old theater, and the importance of preserving that historical site. The weekend highlight was the Social/Dance; thanks again to each one that made this possible!

Hello Class of ‘78,
This is my first visit to the forum so I took my time to read the postings. I have to agree with all of you about the reunion. It was such a blast to see, talk and spin the tunes we grew up with. To the planning committee I say kudos for their superb job. Although I didn’t attend most of the events I see through your words that it was well thought out and enjoyable. I am so humbled for the opportunity to be a part of this reunion. At the conclusion of the social, many of you told me you enjoyed the music. To that I say a heart felt thank you. Long live 1970’s music. I regret not having another hour or so because I had more tunes planned but again I thank you for the accolades. I’m planning on being at the next reunion. Hopefully I’ll see some of you that missed this one. Will I be your DJ next time? We’ll see. May God bless you all and take good care of yourself. Oh! One more thing. I love this web site!

Good Morning All,

For you Claremont Elementary school classmates, just saw that Ardelia Palmer (6th grade teacher) passed away on Nov. 30th in Bristol, VA. Those that started in the band program had Mrs. Palmer as their teacher.
