Fredric Deckert

Joined U.S. Navy, after boot camp at Great Lakes Navy Base, Il I was assigned to VF-121 fighter Sqn. at NAS Miramar, Ca. from fall 68 to Feb 1970.

Then I was assigned to CBMU-302 based at Cam Ranh Bay, South Vietnam where I served as a bricklayer at NAVCAT 11, deployed to Hon Khoi. Then I was assigned to NAVCAT-18 at an 8" cinder block Mfg. plant outside Saigon until May 1971.

Then I was assigned to the USS Iwo Jima LPH-2 Helo assault carrier until My discharge in May 1972. I spend 23 years working for Digital Equipment Corp, a mini-computer mfg. the company from Nov 74 to May 1998 when they were bought by Intel Corp. in a copyright case.

I spent 6 years building the PDP 11/70 computer in Westminster, Ma. and Salem, Nh. Then I transferred to the semiconductor plant in Hudson, Ma. I tried to learn to maintain the toolsets with little success.

I spent ten years working for Intel in Hudson, Ma. making computer chips. After a back operation, I retired Dec 2010 with two bulging lumbar discs.

I spent two years at a trade school in Minneapolis, Ma. called Brown Institute. I left with an associate's degree in 1974.

In 1999 I attended Saulter School in Worcester, Ma. studying PC servicing class for one quarter. I received a certificate.
