Classmate Bill Van Valkenburg passed away early in January 2020 at age 73, after suffering from brain cancer. Bill spent his early years in Springfield before graduating in '64 from ELHS. He was in the U.S. Navy, where he served as a sailor and photographer. He leaves one daughter, one son, one granddaughter, two great grandsons, and two sisters.
