I attended collage at Kansas State University and married a man from Thailand after graduating. In 1970, a few months after marrying, we set off for Thailand; a fantastic adventure driving from Italy to India. I was married four years to Aswin Nimmanheminda and, though we had no children, I kept his family name because once I learned how to spell it I didn't want to let it go. I loved Thailand and stayed for another year after getting divorced but then decided I wanted to be closer to my family. I chose to live in Boulder, Colorado, which is where I've been since, except for three years when I moved to Denver to get my Master's of Social Work at DU. After getting my MSW I worked for agencies and then around 1990 started a private practice in psychotherapy. I became very interest psychoanalysis and eventually completed training and a PhD in psychoanalysis. Now I'm single, and living in Lafayette, a few miles east of Boulder. Along with my work, I'm passionate about cycling and traveling - and especially love doing both at the same time.

I live near Boulder, about 350 miles from Durango, CO where Caroline lived with her husband, Mac. I don’t remember how it happened, but, in 2011, I learned that Caroline and I were “neighbors.”  I enthusiastically reached out to her and we reconnected. Over the last five years until her recent passing, we stayed in contact and saw each other several times. Though her illness was progressing throughout these years, Caroline remained positive. She was athletic (skiing, hiking, cycling, traveling) and active (painting, playing the fiddle and singing) as long as she could. I so admire her courage and grace throughout these last years!
