I'm stunned as well. We ran together in track and was a huge contributor to the team. He will be missed.

Rene Lopez, thanks for posting the photos on your profile. I now have atmost one photo of me in high school. I was too lazy to take time off from my summer vacation to get my photo taken for the school yearbook, so you won't find me there. Being in the background of one of your photographs will suffice. By the way in highschool you looked a lot like Mario Lopez. Any relation? And for the record, I didn't have any trouble with the law (too savvy for that, i.e. attic) However my brother Javier had to use his cut of the Loya party proceeds for legal representation.

Not related to Mario, but since Dan brought it up, I'll have to see if I have any blood ties to Rico Suave. Freakin Danny! Haha!

Hey Melissa! I rember
lance living next door to you and his car! I walk up and down turrentine. And yes when I get the chance I am the historian to my kids as to who lived where and as for Herbie- what to do as to not get busted by my mom! He also attends Burges and laughs his butt off at what went on in the 80's! My book will be called "What the hell were we thinking?"
I remember most of the people who have posted messages. It is great to see people reconnect. But, only a handful of people remember me. In a way, it figures! hahaha

I remember Lance's car too! Do you remember riding around town to go get liquor for my "not so happy memory" party and stopping @ intersections and inviting people we knew?

Remember Bill Minninch and his parties too? Ooh High School, Im just happy we survived!!!! I have to agree with Elizabeth though... "what the hell were we thinking"!

Hey does anyone remember Mr. Estrada??? I'm pretty sure most of us took his class, just based on some of the crazy stories that people talked about him. If anyone happens to have picture of him...(if he actually, did let you photograph him)please do get in touch with me.

05/03/08 11:17 PM #91

Adriana Fernandez

I heard Mr. Estrada is no longer with us.........If we can come up with a picture we should include him on our "In Memory" section. He was odd but funny as heck.

I heard the same thing about Mr. Estrada. He was definitely an interesting person. He had the best substitute I can remember. What was her name, that lady that worked for one of the TV stations?

Ray Lomrana has the best story I've ever heard about Mr. Estrada. You have to ask him to tell you.

Oh I am very well aware that Mr. Estrada passed away, I actually attended his funeral services. Boy, was I surprised and shocked with ALL the things I found about about our beloved, Mr. Estrada!! I was just hoping, that maybe someone has a photo of him. Since, I never even thought about taking a camera to school.

Mike,
Mr. Estadas substitutee was Pat Monroe. How did he die anyways?

05/04/08 10:51 PM #95

Mike Grijalva

Thanks Lisa. I used to like when she subbed.

I was told Mr. Estrada committed suicide, but that was news to me. I had, until today, believed it was other circumstances.

Do you remember how he use to send the attendance ladies, black roses because they nagged him over the scanners? We should celebrate the good stuff we did know about Mr. Estrada.

ADRIANA,
WOW WHEN DID MR. ESTRADA DIE....I DID NOT KNOW THAT.....WOW...THATS CRAZY

Mr. Estrada died sometime in 1996. He committed suicide. It was on the El Paso Times. At this time I am unable to locate the article, but I will keep trying. Like I said before, I attended the services. I met his family; mother, brothers, and sisters. And they were glad to see that students still remembered him.

Does anyone remember the details behind the passing of Wade Minnich? I think it was in '89 that he was killed in a motorcycle accident. I'd like to see him in the "In Memory" section, but just can't confirm the year.

Hey.. go easy on the hair! It was the only decade it was easy to have a lot of wavy hair. I've been trying to straighten it out since the 90's. I firmly believed all the aqua net of the 80's caused the hole in the ozone layer and global warming!

05/06/08 03:07 PM #101

Christine Seelig

Maria, you are right. All the white cans with the pink labels I think were used in 87-91, if you go back to Burges and look in the trophy case the volleyball team minus myself and maybe one other person have the HAIR!!! then they turned to the braid. We'll have to put a search out for the brainiac that invented that hair glue in a can. Anyway, its good to see you on here and do me a favor tell Coach Uranga that I said HI....Take Care
