Billy Fuller

I entered the Navy immediately after graduating. I served on River patrol Boats in Viet Nam for 18 months and was honorably discharged in January of 1969. I met my wife in Arkansas and we married in 1971. I worked as a computer programmer analyst for the state of Arkansas for seven years before going to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to study for the pastorate. After graduating, I went to work for Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas as their Computer Services Director. While there I completed a double major degree in business and religion. I left Wayland to become the pastor of a small country church in Kress, Texas for seven years. I went from there to Ozona, Texas for 12 years, then to Panhandle, Texas for 4.5 years, then to Scotsdale Baptist Church in El Paso for 5 years, and now am pastoring in Tahoka, Texas (just south of Lubbock). I enjoy playing guitar and putting words to some of my guitar tunes. My wife retired from the school system in Tahoka and I plan to join her in retirement sometime in the near future.

I recall collecting money to purchase sawdust and kerosene to put in old ammo cans, which outlined the "I" on the mountain, to set on fire at half time of the Friday night home football games. We would fill the cans Friday afternoon after school and then light the fires that night and run like crazy to get down the hill before the police arrived. Stupid, but fun!
