Sabina Musci, Ilene Brand and myself will be travelling up to Disney to check out a few places on July 18-19 to see who has the best deals for us as a group. Since we don't have exact numbers, we'll do our best. We will either be staying at the Coronado Springs, or Disney Beach Club. Both seem to have good facilities, so we'll look at them. Anyone interested in meeting us up there, or if you happen to be in the area, let us know. We'd love you to help on our fact-finding search. Joanne D will then let everyone know thru our newsletter re: registration. If you want us to ask any specific info, let us know before the 18th. Thanks

Thanks so much to all of you who offered your professional and "through experience" advice to me when I was so upset about my son. He is doing so much better with medication and therapy and will carry through on his plans to start school again in September. It meant so much to me to hear from you all. To read this forum makes me realize how fast paced our lives get and how much we truly enjoyed each others' company. Things at the inn are CRAZY this week. I overbooked for July 3rd and luckily, my sister will take a repeat customer for me. Still it will be breakfast for 14 on the 4th. Will check back later this month when things slow down. Carrie- I hope Fran is doing ok. Prayers with you.

07/02/09 04:53 PM #379     Beth Cooper (Tabakin) Joanne, I received an number of emails requesting my life story and pictures of me for the Beth Cooper website. I thought it was exceptionally weird (who wouldn't) and didn't respond. Apparently, the author was a writer for the Simpson (which I love) and his book came out and was reviewed by the new York Times. When I saw that, I wrote a rather elaborate apology note and voila.......no response. So, I have had no input on the movie and plan to see it. How are you? Beth

07/02/09 08:58 PM #380     Joanne Dickstein (Deutch) Beth- I thought it was so funny, when I saw the title of the movie, I wonder how they got the name. You should ask for royalties for your name! I am fine except it won't stop raining and is cold, in the 60's. Haven't seen the sun, moon,stars in weeks. Right now on July 2, I am wearing sweat pants, heavy winter robe, socks and might get the blanket out to watch TV. Will this weather end, next week, the weather is SUPPOSE to be sunnier and in the 70's. Whoopie! What a july. Carl(my husband) and I are ushering at Jacob's Pillow Dance theatre all summer and we started last night. Wonderful dance co. from Taiwan , we get to watch all performances and the best part is it is free for us. This Sat. , we are ushering for Radio and Juliet, based on Radiohead music. Sounds interesting. This summer also marks the 90th b'day celebration of the dancer, Merce Cunningham, who I studied with in the 70's. We get to see the performance for FREE. I just donated all my dance books to Jacobs Pillow too. If the weather would clear, it would be a great summer! Joanne

I am not married to the very young, very handsome actor, Patrick Wilson, photographed with me last September at an Actors Equity event. Perhaps in my next life, sigh. The current groom, Cliff (a bit younger and also handsome)and I have just returned from a honeymoon cruise to Bermuda and I hope to have photos posted shortly. Again, thank you. You've made our day!

07/22/09 12:15 PM #383     William Salmansohn Hey everyone so nice to see our community responding to Nancy, it really touched me to see Nancy reach out with such a heart rendering event in her life and then all of you with such great loving responses, and I am putting my prayers into Nancy's son's world..... Ideals are enough to make everyone crazy, and when there is no space for acceptance of the way that things are (rather than the way we would want things to be, there is definitley a "break in belonging" Having done 21 years of lots of training, therapy and Landmark Education, i am clear the greatest gift you can give someone is the gift of being fully involved in their world, listening to another on the deepest level possible, where our judgements disaapear, and let them know we heard what they are all about.............it evens everyhting out and we can walk in life with balance it always blows my mind that we never really had any training early in life on our "internal dialogue" and how to handle them, be with them etc., an amazing oversight....for us as a planet anyway hope all is well with everyone, lotsa love and always a pleasure to check in, thank you Joanne for the structure that always makes it possible

07/22/09 02:01 PM #384     Ilene Brand (Robeck) This is the information on the reunion at Disney November 6-8 The reunion will be held November 6 - 8 at the Coronado Springs Hotel which is part of the Walt Disney World Complex. Reservations can be made in two ways 1. There is a group discount rate of $139 plus tax. This is a savings of about 10 dollars per room. In addition if we book as a group the people who book with the group will get free transportation between the airport and the hotel. We need a minimum of ten rooms to book as a group and these rooms need to be booked by September 1 in order to get these benefits. The travel agent that is handling this is Athena Hursh. Floridians and all other idians, ites, orkers, or whoever, Elmont at Disney is calling your name. We had about 25 people interested, maybe more. After Sept. 1st, Ilene, Sabina, and I will go to the hotel and see what we can do about meals, meeting places and more. Let's do it!!!!!!

07/26/09 09:58 AM #386     Randy Blaustein (Solomon) from randy blaustein i am hoping to be able to come. things are a bit iffy with us now, but i hope by sept. 1 to be able to make a decision. my daughter is in alcohol rehab. she was adopted by us as a baby and has since found out her biological father , his siblings, father, uncle, grandfather, etc. are alcoholics. she has been in rehab for almost 2 weeks. although she has been detoxed from alcoghol and prescription meds, she has not made progress in chnaging attitudes, outlooks, coping styles, etc. she is 21 and has at least been drinking since 14 that we know of, probably before. she did manage to graduate college and do ok with that but her life is a mess. nov. 7 will be her 22nd birthday so i am holdig off on committing to come to florida-we live in nj. i need more info on where she will be. if it weren't her birthday i could make a decsion more easily. we didn't see her for her 21st b/c i refused to by hr a drink so she didn't want to see us. we ae looking for a sober living house in yhr ny-nj area if anyome know of anyhting. thanks for listening, randy

07/28/09 06:22 PM #387     Carrie Czajkowski (Hogan) Hi everyone, We were away on a west coast vacation. We started in San Francisco. If you were in Girl Scouts you might remember Mrs.Trotno. We were able to visit with her and her husband. He is 92 and she is 88. Then we went to Crater Lake NP. We stopped in Portland to visit Kathy Warnecke. Her sister Pat was visiting also. Then on to Mt. Rainier NP and finally Vancouver BC. The weather was great and we covered 1400 miles. We had another good flying experience with Jet Blue. So now I can start thinking about future trips. We do want to go to Florida. Can I book through my own travel agent? It is finally summer - I put the ac on for the first time this year!!

08/04/09 10:15 PM #389     Nancy Jacob (Belluscio) THanks to all again for the support with dealing with my son's illness. He is being moderated by a physician and has plans to return to school part time in Sept. Innkeeping is getting very tiring at this point in the summer. Today was a day off--I taught a boater safety course and had some Seagle Colony ( a local training camp for opera singers)students over to do their laundry and hang out in the hot tub! I went to a class reunion as a faculty guest on Sat, Class of 79. It was fun, but not as much fun as ours! Love to all.

That is Den's first weekend of retirement. I hope to see my sister who lives in Deltona and then maybe go to Miami to see my nephew. Why go all that way for only a weekend!! Now that I'm retired I can stay longer. I don't feel retired - just on summer vacation. I guess I'll feel it when everyone is going back to school and I'm not!! What is the reunion count? Anybody know?

They think they have a lot of time since it's November, but we really have until the 1st of September. Then they are on their own. It makes it hard for us to plan dinner, brunch etc. if we don't have the numbers. The ones I do know so far are: Denise Lemmon, Carol Montagino, Sabina Musci, Angela Destefano, Beth Cooper, Phyllis Menlowe, Marcia Roth, Ilene Brand. Others are telling me they are working on it (about 15 more). Others from Florida are planning to drive up on Saturday for Saturday nite dinner. Not a big turnout, but it is still August. Let's see what happens. Barbara
