Joel Bergman is planning to attend. He had trouble logging onto the system.

does any one know how much the dinner will cost?

Carrie Czajkowski (Hogan)

I think we are all wondering how much per person and who do we send it to.

Looking forward to the reunion!

We are still putting together costs, but it will be about $80 per person. Danford's dinners are $60 per person with tax and service charges. We'll be buying some keepsakes, other incidentals and drinks for toasting , (otherwise there will be a cash bar). We're using only recorded music so no costs there. The group photos are optional but we need a minimum sign up to have him show up.

Susan Liebenhaut (Gootleib) and I will be collecting payments either by paypal or checks. We'll have an exact total early September and let you all know how to pay.

We are finding new classmates that want to come and at this stage really want to let everyone know about it so nobody that would want to come is left out. If anyone would like to be a homeroom monitor and take attendance or to reach out to old friends you are wondering about, that would be great. I'll send you our lists. Loretta, Roy and I are working from the lists put together last time with help from others like Pat, Angela, and Bruce who have been spreading the word.

We're all excited about this, our golden anniversary. Speaking of which, has anyone any leads on Donald Golden?   There are over 100 of them in their 60's in the whitepages, and nothing on our old class list. Anyhow, it would be nice he at least be located.

Thank you for the response Frank, I believe this has been on the mind of many.

Last I heard Don Golden lived in Las Vegas but that was quite a while ago. I am spreading the word about the reunion out here in California and the West coast. See you all there!

Why not add a symbol for those who are signed up for the upcoming reunion on the website? That way, all can see who isn't signed up and all can push to contact those not committed.

Great idea Nancy! I don’t know if that is feasible, but once Frank and Susan L. Begin collecting money for the reunion, I’m fairly certain that we can keep a running list on the Reunion page. They can notify me and I can keep the list updated.

Frank, I have a question for you - do you know whether we can get a block for Friday night for those of us who will be staying at Danfords?

08/08/18 05:24 PM #1036

Frank Gervasi

So here's a few responses. Buffet dinner is served from 6:30 to about 8:30, We arrive at 6 with the bar open and have the room currently booked until 10. We can book for an additional hour until 11 for about $6.50 per person, plus an additional $50 for the bartender, if we want.

Everyone going to the reunion pays for dinner, so we have nobody stopping by. They want us to have all our tickets bought in advance and will allow only a few additions within the last week or so.

The hotel for Saturday is already sold out, and very few rooms (6) are left for Friday, (I requested adding a couple to our discount price but I don't think they will do it) Anyone wanting to reserve a room at this point can try the Hilton in Stoneybrook about 5 miles away, or the Hilton owned Hampton Inn in Brookhaven, about 12 miles down the road, which has better availability.

Good idea Nancy- when we do start purchasing the tickets in a few weeks we should post those names on the forum site. We have a few more coming since I last listed those of us who have said they are going, but I will need an exact count by about the end of September to finalize the number and pay for the event.

Frank - I also like the idea of posting who is coming so we all can get a feel for who will be there. But I also like the idea of getting it up as soon as convenient so a few people like me can have enough time to further track down "missing classmates".

I could not figure out how to add a joke to the "Joke Page", so here it is.  Apologies to those who think it is not funny or isck"   This is a "message" for those of you who like to read things of this kind.

The Active ALF:

Rose and Ruth are walking outof the dining room, and they see Esther holding hands with Bernard, who are walking up tthe short flight of stairs tot he residential area of the facility.

Rose, whi is a miserable bitch, says in a gruff and angry voice to Ruth, "What could Bernard, such a handsome and distinguished man, see in that ugly old  pig Esther?

Ruth, quite the classy lady, says "it is not what Bernard sees in Esther, it is what Esther has that you and I do not have."  Rose gives Ruth a quizacal look, and states "what could that possibly be?",   Ruth holds up her left hand, puts her hand in a tubular shape and starts  rapidly moving her hand up and down, and states to Rose  "Parkinsons".

UGH

I did not know a name would be posted to the previous comment.  I know that person has been trying to be a good American and lie low.  in recognition of the unfavorable remarks of 6 or more months ago directed to that person. Consistent with the policy in place today in senior government, the purported author has confirmed to me that he (she) can look directly into the camera and say in clear terms that he (she) "did not post the joke, and that it wass absolutely disgusting and in very poor taste.  It was clearly posted by a Russan hack, that fat guy sitting on his bed in New Jersey, or one of Robert Muller's coven of henchmen.

If any of you thought the joke was funny, keep it to yourself.   Do not say so in this message forum, as it may bring upon you the wrath of the unforgiving, or even worse, the wrath of those who do not have a sense of humor.

On a much more positive note, .I am happy to report that (i) Devil Dogs are widely available; and (ii) I am going back into hiding until at least next Schnorer's Day..

Whatever name that is posted as the author of this message is sbsolutely bogus.  The actual author was seen a few minutes ago boarding a Greyhound in Pittsburgh,   The person wronfully identiifed as the author is currently going blind watching his hero Sean the Man Hannity.on TV, and laughing very loudly.

I spoke to Frank yesterday and told him that I was going to throw out this challenge. We are now literally 2 months out from our 50th reunion. I am assuming that this will be our last reunion since people get more and more removed from high school days and since unfortunately more people start passing away. That being said, the challenge I throw out is for each of us reading this to help make this reunion our best one. The way to do it is rather simple. I contend that every one of us either is still in touch with people from our class or know the basic whereabouts of classmates.

So all I am asking of you - that's right , YOU - is to contact by phone, e-mail or text whoever you still know and make sure each one is aware of the reunion. I personaly have tracked down a # of classmates who were completely out of the loop and had no idea a reunion was happenening.

Will you take my challenge? If so, why not take the few minutes to reach out to those you know or can find today?! This is your individual chance to make this reunion a whole hell of a lot of fun!!!!!!! I look forward to seeing you at "the party".
