Hi everyone! Sorry I can't make it tonight. I had a small procedure at the hospital this morning, and had to be there at 6:30! Had my third Covid test this past Friday, and, luckily, passed with flying colors. Please, stay safe everybody! Hope to make it next time.

Susan Baum - glad you tested negative for Covid.

The Zoom get together was fun. Nice to see classmates 50 years later and how our lives have progressed. I will do my best to attend in the future. Thank you for putting the meeting together.

Merry Christmas to all.

"Where is Everybody?" was the 1st episode of Rod Serling's great Twilight Zone series. Shown on 10/2/59. The main character was alone in the world. I thought of it these past few weeks because our Message Forum seems to be empty since the Zoom Call on 12/22/20. Hope that everyone is OK and that 2021 is much better than 2020. Best regards to all...Joe

I was thinking the same thing!

I thinks it's because not much has been going on since the pandemic. Although now that we have our vaccines we are trying to get back to normal.

Hope everyone is well.

Ah yes, the Twilight Zone, the Best in my opinion, of that genre. I was bummed out by the fact that our 70th birthday party wasn't gonna happen. All pandemic-related. Perhaps we could do it This September, just a thought. But I think most of us are just busy trying to get back to some kind of normalcy. I doubt the world will be the same, at least not for a long long time. Regards to All !!!

Ilene Bach (Amar)

I'm not a member of your class, my sister Judi Bach was, but  - if you can't get the whole big group together for an "event" - how about a small group - different groups even 10-15 people. However many one person can wrangle up.  Unless maybe you do that on Zoom, but getting a whole class full to meet IS tough.  My classmates have mini-mini "reunions" if anyone is traveling to where more than one or two others live.

I want to let everyone in the class of 68 know that one of our fellow classmates needs our thoughts and prayers Fr. Dennis Wheatley has been diagnosed with colon cancer

He will be starting chemo.

He has always been there for so many people and now it is time for us to be there for him.

It would be nice for each and everyone of us to send him cards to help with this tough time.                                 Here is his address

Sacred Heart Church                                                                                                                                                   Fr Dennis Wheatley                                                                                                                                               311 River Street                                                                                                                                                            Waltham, MA 02453                                                                                                                                                 If any of you have been ill during your life how nice was it when you got a card in the mail that cheered you up when you needed it                                                                                                                                                     Let's show him that we are there for him

Hello everybody! I haven't been checking our site for a while. I know things have been slow because of the virus and nobody has really done anything too exciting or traveled any place. My prayers are with Dennis and the rest of my classmates. I hope everybody is safe. I hope we didn't lose anybody to this virus and if you got the shot good for you if you didn't please be careful. I have had a very uneventful past year. I have kept in touch with my family through text messages and phone calls. They have been very few outings on the boat or barbecues or just a general going out to dinners or celebrating birthdays. I can only guess that the rest of us were in the same boat. Hopefully this virus situation is behind us and we have a handle on it and we can all begin again living our lives. In these times of dread we should have communicated with each other a lot more just to keep in touch just to keep our spirits up. It's not too late and I'd like to hear from everybody and know what's going on in their lives. Please don't hesitate to write a few lines. I really didn't do anything and don't have too much to report. I am wishing everybody well and hope to read a few lines from my classmates. Please be well take care continue to be safe. I'm sure by now we all know to wash your hands and keep them away from my face give everybody some space I hate to say no hugging and kissing that sucks but it is what we have to do right now wear a mask if it's required and I'm sure we will all get through this.

Hello All, Hope everyone is well and safe . I am not vaccinated. Last year I tried to get vaccinated, but could not get an appointment. Last January (2020) , for 4 days I think I had Covid. It wasn't too bad. I travel weekly on airplanes and am always careful to wear a mask . I think that I have built up natural immunities since I have not gotten sick since. Last year while traveling thru Georgia I heard on the news that Hank Aaron had died. 2 days after being vaccinated. I am wondering if any of YOU had heard this bit of news. If so why not? Now I am glad that I did not get vacinnated . Politics has nothing to do with it .

Hi everyone, Bruce your choice to get the shot, Angelo I will message you about Frankie of any arrangements. Everyone takes precautions and we will get through this. Wash hands and don't touch your face. I believe your body your choice and be respectful of others.

09/20/21 04:15 PM #1364

Ilene Brand (Robeck)

The data on vaccination for those over 65 is clear. The risk of death, long haul covid and disability is much much much higher in unvaccinated individuals. The delta variant is highly contagious and your luck may run out. At least talk to your physician about the pros and cons of vaccinations. They are readily available now. For the past 6 months over 95% of those hospitalized or who die of COVID are unvaccinated. The only vaccinated people who are dying of covid now are those with severly compromised immune systems. The risk of prolonged covid or disability if you are sick enough to be hospitalized is signficiant.

So excited! Getting my booster on Thursday! And my Granddaughter will soon be getting her shot. She was going to be in the second trials for Moderna in August but we heard that Pfizer had already finished their second trials and the vaccine would start sometime in October. I love Science!

And that is my news of the day, oh except, Im still swimming outdoors in Lenox, the weather is nicer then this past summer. Everyday, swimming outside is a blessing!

i would love another zoom  meeting perhaps when the days get shorter and colder!  I have learned to decrease my social contacts greatly, but when it comes to seeing my twin grandsons (now 1 yr olds), my son's refusal to vaccinate himself against COVID and not vaccinating the twins for anything has put a great divide in my family.  On the bright side, my older son was married Aug 12 in a simple, yet lovely, ceremony attended only by both sets of parents with his college friend officiating!  They will also be having a baby girl in the early spring.  He lives only 45 min away (a short distance in Adirondack terms) and I know I will be a part of this baby's life.  Luckily, my hip surgery in July went very well and I am gradually increasing my walks and hikes,  The lake is getting colder so Sunday may have been my last day of swimming.  However, being optomistic, I bought new ski boots last week.  I consider myself blessed to live in such a beautiful area where being outside never gets old!  I have not reopened our inn because I am not comfortable with the risks of doing so and because of my mid summer surgery and some medical issues my husband is having.

Stay well everyone!

Just let me know what works for you. I can set up a zoom meeting at any time. This pandemic has created so many family divides for many reasons which have been so painful. The good news and bad news is that I live in Florida I can be outside all year round but COVID is also rampant here all year round with no end in sight and an anti-vaxxer, anti masker governor, and now surgeon general. It will be helpful to get together once things cool off up north. What a roller coaster of a year. We thought we were home free if we were vaccinated in the spring and early summer only to have it all come crashing down by late summer

Hello Everyone....... Count me in for the Zoom Meeting.. and If you need any money to do it please let me know. .I gladly will chip in....I thought the other one was not long enough.. Seemed to go too fast but it is very nice of you do this for us... Hats off to you Ilene!

Covid will not go away until we all help... So please do what you can.. When you think of it... it should be 100 percent of people trying to help to get rid of this awful disease and if a little over 50 percent do then this virus will be with us for along time until it plays itself out and we attack it! God Bless all our Health Care Workers.. Teachers..Truck Drivers... and anyone else who makes up our communities to make our world easier for all of us to live well.. Smiles.. and Please Stay Safe!

Hi everyone from one of the COVID capitals of the country.  Please stay safe, and if you come here, remember to be careful in Florida.

I would love to be part of a zoom meeting.  Unfortunately I had to miss the last two times, but looking forward to participating in the next.
