Jan Weidner Arbuckle

After graduation I got my associates in business from ICC. Then went thru Esthetics training...became licensed in 92. Married Russ Arbuckle that same year. Sixteen years and still in love! Our daughter Holly was born in 94. We moved to Lexington a few weeks later. I left the salon/spa world after about 5 yrs for an office job...first at a matchmaking service and then Anvil Brand Shoe Co in Lexington where I worked for 10 yrs. Our son Derek was born in 99. We really loved living in Lexington...life was good! Last fall, an unexpected job opportunity came up for Russ and after much thought, prayer, discussion (stress!) we made the move to Texas this past June. So far so good! Holly is now a freshman in high school (when did I get this old?) and went from a class of 46 to over 350, but is handling it very well. She's a good student and a sweet girl as far as teenagers go...growing up fast, though! Derek is a 4th grader and is my little sweetheart! He's fun and very witty...keeps his mom laughing! I'm in training to be a massage therapist and will be taking the board exam for national certification next summer. Not sure where I will go with it...I'm interested in the medical side but am just keeping an open mind and trusting that the right opportunity will present itself when I'm ready for it! I think we'll be happy here in Texas but I still get homesick for Illinois and all our friends and family. (Remind me of that when I'm NOT shoveling snow this winter!!!)
