Joey joined chorus to be surrounded by girls. I sat beside him in Ensemble. He had an amazing talent that was so annoying- he would play his drums when there was none. I will always miss that. We love you Joey.
I'll never forget when I met Joey. I had just moved to Evans and was attending Columbia Middle School and it was our first track meet. Everyone was talking about the "20 year old" on the Evans Middle School track team. We all thought he was 20 because he had a full beard!
MISS YOU JOEY!!! JOEY WAS ALWAYS SUCH A SWEET, KIND AND FREE SPIRITED PERSON. HE WAS ALWAYS ABLE TO MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH. I THINK EVERYONE WHO KNEW JOEY CAN SAY.....HE IS TRULY MISSED!! LAURA
I remember all those days during ensemble when I had to look away so that I wouldn't bust out laughing and get in trouble. Joey was always cracking jokes and trying to make everyone else feel good...affectionately known as "Spazbaby" he also could never be still!! We love you Joey, and I know that you will be looking down on us on Oct 25 and dancing along to the music!!
I bet u are the 1 drum player up in heaven! u always shinned when u walked the halls at evans. such a sweet man who could never be still. You always had something nice to say to anyone and such a good role model for all. u rock!
Joey Williams will always be remembered for his charming personality, insane humor, and compassion for others!! Driving back to Augusta from CSU, with Trish (Tolar) Reeves, for Joey's funeral was Heart Wrenching!!! A very sad time for so many very dear friends!!
JW, thanks for watching over us over the last 20 yrs. And being the Angel Guide for so many!!!!
Joey, You use to make me smile every day. You just had such a kind heart and you shared it with everyone you came in contact with. God must have had bigger plans for you, that is the only way it makes sence. You are missed and still thought of so often. Still miss you even now. Hugs to you, Cymbria
I was in English class with Joey and often helped him with assignments. I remember feeling like someone when he talked to me when most of the time in High School I felt like a misfit!!
When my Mama called and told me that he had passed away I cried knowing that an entire community was truly going to miss him!
