A couple of weeks ago I noticed that Bob's brother Andy posted about Bob's passing on Facebook. Needless to say, I was shocked to see the loss of my good friend in high school at such a young age. Bob apparently had some health problems in the last year and was in a veteran's retirement home on the date of his passing. He apparently passed quietly in his sleep.  I remember our times together in high school with great fondness. Bob was an excellent singer and we spent many hundreds of hours singing together. We were both in A Capella choir and  Choralliers in our senior year. Outside of school and singing, I remember dozens of hours of simply talking about this, that, and the other thing. Talks were usually accompanied by an 8 pack of Schemlings Little Kings and a large bag of Cheetos (for some reason).  I’ve still got  a taste for Cheetos and beer!  Bob was truly a good friend and confidant, and would support you in any endeavor. Bob was a skilled photographer.  He took this picture of Bob Huddleston and I when we were both shorn for our trip to the Naval Academy 50 years ago.  I had the great fun of spending a little time with him as a young man while we were both in the Navy. He was stationed at Long Beach on the USS Blue Ridge. I seem to remember a trip south to Tijuana, where two 19-year-olds did not come off very well in haggling for some belt buckles and assorted items in the markets there. But we did have a great margarita or two. God willing, my brother, I'll see you in the next life.
